Template:Corviknight Corviknight (Japanese: アーマーガア, HepburnAamaagaa) is a Flying/Steel-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII. It evolves from Corvisquire and is the final form of Rookidee. It can also Gigantamax into Gigantamax Corviknight.

Biology

Physiology

Corviknight appears to be a raven or crow with some shining armor on its chest, the top half of its wings, and some as its mask. Some of its feathers go over the top half of the chest armor.

In its Gigantamax form, it's essentially the same thing but bigger. However, under the wings have red markings. Corviknight is also accompanied by what appears to be 4 red, bird-like, living things. Like all Gigantamax Pokémon, Corviknight also has red clouds above its head.

Behavior

Often being seen fearlessly soaring through the air, Corviknight is being regarded as the strongest Pokémon living in the skies of the Galar region. With just a sharp glare and cry from this fearsome Pokémon, any Pokémon which are foolish enough to challenge it are sent cowering in tremendous fear.

Natural Abilities

Corviknight possesses superb flying skills and high intelligence, which can be helpful for transportation purposes.

  • Sword

This Pokémon reigns supreme in the skies of the Galar region. The black luster of its steel body could drive terror into the heart of any foe.
Gigantamax: Imbued with Gigantamax energy, its wings can whip up winds more forceful than any a hurricane could muster. The gusts blow everything away.

  • Shield

With their great intellect and flying skills, these Pokémon very successfully act as the Galar region's airborne taxi service.
Gigantamax: The eight feathers on its back are called blade birds, and they can launch off its body to attack foes independently.

Trivia

Origin

Corviknight is based on a raven and a knight, most specifically a Black Knight. Its feathers are similar to armor with its head resembling a helmet. It could also be based on the "black bird" sprite that appears in the previous games when the Fly HM is used.

Etymology

Corviknight comes from corvid and knight.

Its Japanese name, Amaga, comes from a (raven), armor and gaga (Japanese onomatopoeia for a crow squawking).
