The Cortondo Gym is a location introduced in Generation IX.
Description[]
Cortondo Gym is a gymnasium located in the Paldea region, and the Gym Leader is Katy. This gym specializes in Bug-type Pokémon. This gym is very close to Mesagoza, so many students at Naranja and Uva Academies go here to have their first Pokémon Battle at a gym.
The gym test requires the player to roll an olive to the finish line. You can ride on Koraidon to push it. There are also shortcuts, but to e able to use them, you have the battle the shortcut guard. The shortcut guard only has a Smoliv, so if you have a Fuecoco or Crocalor, it will be easier to battle the guards and the gym leader. Once you are finished with the Olive Roll, you may challenge Katy to a gym battle. By winning, the player can obtain the Bug Badge.
Strategy[]
Katy owns a Nymble that can do Struggle Bug, so get a Houndour not only because it is part Fire-type, but also because it outspeeds. Katy has a Tarountula that can use Assurance, but Hondour can be protected from this because it is part Dark-type. Katy sends out her terastallized, Teddiursa, you may have a Tera Battle against Katy, as long as your Houndour terastallizes into a Fire-type and not a Dark-type, as Bug is good against dark. If your Hondour is knocked out and you do not have a Fuecoco, bring in a -type like Staravia or Fletchling.
