The user fights the target up close without guarding itself. This also lowers the user's Defense and Sp. Def stats.

Effect

In battle

Close Combat does damage to the target, then lowers the user's Defense and Special Defense by 1 stage each. In a Double Battle, Close Combat can target any Pokémon around the user. In a Triple Battle, Close Combat can only target a Pokémon that's adjacent to the user.
