This Excadrill is a ground/steel-type Pokémon owned by Clay.
Biography[]
Excadrill was with Clay, whose team discovered a strange stone in the sand at the Desert Resort.[1] Palpitoad, Excadrill and Krokorok were with Clay at his place, who was talking with Lenora over the phone about a stone he had found, while a robot was spying on them from the vents.[2]
Clay had his Palpitoad, Excadrill and Krokorok chase after Black, who insulted Clay by claiming he was a "dirty trickster" for messing up the controls of the Driftveil Drawbridge.[3] During the Gym Battle, Clay switched Palpitoad with Excadrill, to attack Black's Tirtouga. Excadrill spun and attacked Tirtouga, who hid inside its shell. However, Excadrill didn't even scratch Tirtouga, due to its strong shell.[4] As his Palpitoad fainted, Clay sent Excadrill, who fought Black's Nite. Excadrill started digging holes and attacked Nite, to which Black could not predict from where Excadrill would come out. As Excadrill continued hitting Nite, the latter started to dig holes, too. It eventually found Excadrill, and punched it. However, a rock was thrown onto the generator, disabling it, and the lights were switched off. In that moment, Excadrill and Nite hit each other and fainted at the same time.[5]
Palpitoad, Krokorok and Excadrill accompanied Clay and Black to the Gym Leaders' meeting in Mistralton City's Celestial Tower.[6] When Clay arrived with the other Gym Leaders at Nacrene City's museum, he sent Excadrill to battle Team Plasma's Shadow Triad.[7] Excadrill went to attack the Shadow Triad's Lilligant, who used Mega Drain on it. To support Excadrill, Elesa's Emolga used Acrobatics to blow Lilligant away.[8]
When Clay was released from Team Plasma's castle, he sent Excadrill to battle the Team Plasma sages at the Pokémon League. Excadrill used Drill Run to attack the Team Plasma forces.[9] With the battle over, Excadrill watched N departing away with Zekrom into the sunset.[10]
At Opelucid City, to rescue the people that were frozen inside buildings, Clay's Excadrill drilled through the ice to open the door.[11]
