The Chilan Berry is a Berry introduced in Generation III, exclusive to Ruby and Sapphire. It is an e-Reader Berry, thus it will turn into an Enigma Berry if its holder is transferred to Generation IV through Pal Park.

The Chilan Berry is based on a winter cherry while it gets its name from an alternate name for the winter cherry: the "Chinese lantern". Its appearance in particular may reference the way the cherries look in Spring when they reveal the red berry growing within a gray vein structure.
