His appearance is similar to Sanpei from XY series, including Fujiko Fujio's titular ninja character Ninja Hattori.
His name and ninja outfit parts are named after chikuwa, a Japanese-styled hollow cylinder food made out of fish pastes, and anaaki, which means perforation in Japanese.
