Trivia
- Charjabug is one of the few Pokémon that evolve in a certain place (magnetic zone). The others are Magneton, Eevee, Nosepass and Crabrawler.
Origin
- Charjabug seems to be based on both a battery, subway train and a cocoon, referring to its Ability and typing. It might also be based off of the larva of the denkimushi, who's sting is said to feel like a jolt of electricity. It might also be based off of an accordion, based on its cry. Its eyes also look similar to the symbol of a battery power on a phone. Charjabug can also be similar to a car when equipped with a car-based spare parts for Charjabug Race competitions.
Etymology
- The name is likely a portmanteau of a corruption of "charger" and "bug" (referring to its type).
Names in other languages
- English: Charjabug
- Japanese: Dendimushi (mix of denchi (battery), jimushi (grab) and denkimushi (a type of Japanese grub).
- French: Chrysapile (mix of chrysalide (chrysalis) and pile (battery).
- German: Akkup (mix of akku (recharging battery) and puppe (pupa).
