Personality[]

Pikachu has a dream of flying, having attempted to use Volt Tackle as a wild Pokémon before befriending Friede and letting him be his Trainer.

He also has an "allergy" when someone calls him cute, sneezing in the process. This can occasionally distract him, though he is still a capable battler even when having to handle his "allergy".

The next morning, post-dawn, Friede and Charizard greet him, but Pikachu attacks Friede again, until Friede's phone rings, with Lucca on the other end doing a catch-up on Friede's observations, including the ability to fly. The following morning, Friede and Charizard catch up to Pikachu at the top of the jump. After Friede discovers why Pikachu wanted to rise high anh how he flies, he commends the view of the sunrise over the horizon, which Pikachu appreciates, however, the mouse Pokemon loses its footing and starts falling, but Charizard and Friede manage to rescue him. Later, Pikachu accepted his offer to be caught by Friede, forming a bond between the two. After Orla helps convert the Olivine into an airship, Friede passes the captain's hat to Pikachu, proudly accepting the offer and thus deepening the bond and creating the Rising Volt Tacklers.[1]

Friede sent out Pikachu against Amethio and his Ceruledge. However, the battle was interrupted by Liko, who felt responsible for all the trouble caused.[2] Later on, Captain had a rematch again Ceruledge, however this was a distraction while Liko went to find her Sprigatito which was locked away. The battle ended when Friede and Pikachu jumped off the building and were caught by Friede's Charizard.[3]

One night, Captain electrocuted Roy, who boarded the ship, looking for Fuecoco.[4]

Pikachu took over the job to train Liko and Roy as he battled with Sprigatito and Fuecoco. He used Double Team and dodged all attacks until both Pokémon were exhausted. He seemed happy when Friede complimented him.[5] In "Quaxly, We Can Do It!", Cap congratulates Quaxly for registering inside Dot's Pokéball. Later on, the teams split up. He comes with Friede to take on a trainer's Bisharp on board the cargo ship in front of a group of passengers. Cap eventually defeats the Bisharp with Thunder Punch. They soon return to the harbor.[6] In "Special Training Time!", Friede initiates a battle on the deck between his two Pokemon: Cap and Charizard, which Roy overhears and decides to watch along with his two Pokemon. Friede soon calls to stop the battle, the two Pokemon became thankful to each other after a good battle. After Roy gets an idea, Cap is placed in a one-on-two battle with Roy's Fuecoco and Wattrel, but defeats them both after jumping at the right time to cause Roy's Pokemon to collide. He heads inside after a storm came in. After it finished, the next day, Cap battles the two Pokemon again in a rematch, but Cap defeats Wattrel with Thunder Punch and dodges Fuecoco's Tackle by flying, causing the latter to keep going, crash and faint.[7]

During their voyage, Liko and Roy, accompanied by a video recording, entered the cockpit without permission, giving him and Friede suspicious looks. They question Friede in excitement about what their secret is, where they met and how Pikachu became captain, but Friede holds them back. After Orla announces the rest of the crew to join, Pikachu attends and listens to Friede's story, finishing off with a proud cry to the delight of the team.[1]
