Lugia and Ho-Oh on the Loose (Part 1) (VSルギア&ホウオウ(前編(ぜんぺん)) VS Lugia and Ho-Oh (Part 1)) (known as Lugia & Ho-Oh (Part 1) in Chuang Yi version) is the 11th chapter of Pokémon Adventures: Volume 13.

Soon after realizing Team Rocket's plans, Gold and Crystal warn everyone at the stadium of the danger. However, the train appears and grunts swarm the stadium. The Gym Leaders fight back and enter the train. Gold and Crystal suspect that was part of the plot, though the Masked Man appears, stronger than ever.

Chapter plot

Gold and Crystal realize Team Rocket are going to the stadium on the train. Crystal remembers they built the tracks into the League, just for this occasion. Gold tries to get out, but the door is locked tightly and its mechanism is busted. Crystal and Exbo use Flame Wheel to melt the door, but the door is untouched. They attempt to break the window to get out, but the window is reinforced, for there is not even a crack in it. With Team Rocket on the way, Gold and Crystal realize they need to warn others at any cost.

Gold logs in, making the radio team shocked, as he can also be heard at the entire stadium. Gold warns all of them Team Rocket is on the way and will arrive here soon. A disturbance causes Gold to lose contact, but he manages to present the video of the Masked Man battling Ho-Oh, shocking everyone. Gold loses the connection, but Crystal manages to make a mixture from Parasee's spores. With that placed on the door, Parasee's Sludge Bomb corrodes and melts the door. On the stadium, everyone witnesses as the rail car arrives and opens, from which Team Rocket members, wearing parts of masks, come out and attack.

The Gym Leaders and their Pokémon combat the grunts, sealing them off in the rail car, which mysteriously rides off. Gold and Crystal go downstairs, but are stopped by the crowd rushing out. They send Tibo and Natee, who fly them off. They come to the stadium, which is left in smoke and ruins. Mary and her crew tell them shorty after they received the message, Team Rocket members came out of the train and wrecked the place. Surprisingly, the Gym Leaders entered the train to battle the grunts. Crystal feels this was the enemy's plan, to get rid of all Gym Leaders, for it would be too hard to fight against all of them.

The Masked Man appears, claiming they are too late to realize that. The Masked Man presents his new teammates, as he sends his two new Pokémon, Ho-Oh *and* Lugia.
