This Beartic is an ice-type Pokémon owned by Brycen.
Biography[]
Beartic accompanied Brycen to the Dragonspiral Tower, where he investigated Team Plasma's whereabouts.[1]
Brycen was waiting with his Beartic, Vanillish and Cryogonal in his Gym, and anticipated Black to challenge him to a Gym Battle.[2] After his Vanillish was defeated, Brycen sent Beartic to battle Black's Costa in the Gym Battle.[3] Beartic's claws grew bigger, due to the effect of the Hail. It attacked Costa, who defended itself, thus taking little damage. Beartic used Superpower, who countered its attack, but got hit by Focus Blast. With Black's encouraging words, his Costa evolved into a Carracosta. The latter attempted to retaliate, but Beartic hid itself among the snow, due to its Snow Cloak ability. Beartic attacked Costa, and as it seemed that Costa was defeated, it actually stopped Beartic's claw with its chin. Since it was at a point-blank range, Costa retaliated against Beartic, slamming it in its face and defeating it.[4]
Brycen had Beartic dig a hole in the ground, so Brycen could detect what was happening below the Pokémon League.[5]
