Bramblin (Japanese: アノクサ, HepburnAnokusa) is a Grass/Ghost-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IX.

Biology[]

Physiology[]

Bramblin is a pokemon that appears to be based after a small tumbleweed. It's entire body appears to be formed out of amber colored thorns. It's eyes appear to be two small seeds, which is likely a reference to how tumbleweeds reproduce via spreading seeds while rolling. This is further referenced by it's ability "Wind Rider" which increases its attack stat if Tail Wind is in effect, or any wind based move is used on it.

Behavior[]

Bramblin tends to go wherever the wind blows it. Like many other Ghost-type Pokémon, this Pokémon is formed when the spirit of someone who has passed flows into the tumbleweed, giving it new life.

Natural Abilities[]

Bramblin and its evolution, Brambleghast, are the only known Pokémon to possess the Wind Rider Ability.

Evolution[]

Bramblin evolves into Brambleghast after walking 1000 steps. Getting into a battle or having Bramblin return to it's pokeball resets the count.

    Trivia[]

    Origin[]

Bramblin is based after a tumbleweed, a type of plant that grows in dry arid lands. Once it has grown so large, it dries out and separates from its roots and begins to tumble across the ground, dropping seeds as it goes as a way to reproduce. This is referenced by the way that Bramblin evolves. Once it has reached a certain level, it will not evolve unless you use the Let's Go! feature and walk over 1000 steps with it. Bramblin's cry sounds like a whistle from a western and is likely a paying homage to the film The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
