Bell Tower (Japanese: スズのとう, HepburnBell Tower) is a location introduced in Generation II.

Description[]

Ho-Oh Tin Tower HGSS

Ho-Oh on top of the tower in Pokémon HeartGold Version and Pokémon SoulSilver Version

The Bell Tower, titled Tin Tower in the Generation II games, is a tall building in Ecruteak City in Johto. The player is required to have the Rainbow Wing to access the Bell Tower in Pokémon Gold Version and Pokémon Silver Version and the remakes Pokémon HeartGold Version and Pokémon SoulSilver Version, allowing them them and some Kimono Girls to summon a level 40 Ho-Oh, at a stronger level 70 in Pokémon Silver Version and Pokémon SoulSilver Version.

In Pokémon Crystal Version, the Clear Bell is also required because it summons Suicune at the first floor of the Tin Tower. However, the player can get Ho-Oh to appear if they have caught the three Legendary Beasts and entered the Hall of Fame; the former methods cannot be worked around if receiving each of the Legendary Beasts through trading.

In the Generation IV remakes, if the player does not capture Ho-Oh on the first encounter, they are given another chance to after entering the Hall of Fame. Additionally, the remakes show a Rattata in the location preview, on the top right during morning and on the left side during the day and evening, while showing a Gastly during the night instead.
