    Trivia[]

    Origin[]

Ariados is based on a spider, more specifically Myrmarachne formicaria and/or the Trichonephila clavata. Its red and black color scheme may be derived from that of the Marvel superhero Spider-Man.

    Etymology[]

Ariados and Ariadosu come from "arachnid," "Arachne," (a Greek mythical figure who was turned into a spider for her hubris) ドス (dosu, Japanese for "dagger"), 脅す (odosu, Japanese for "to threaten"), "odious," (extremely repulsive), "adios," (Spanish for "goodbye," referring to its toxic nature), and "dos" (Spanish for "two").
