This Gengar is a ghost/poison-type Pokémon owned by Allister.
Biography[]
Allister sent Gengar to battle Sou's Fannyn, and quickly Gigantamaxed it. To prevent Sou from switching, Gengar's G-Max Terror prevented Fannyn from being called into its Poké Ball. Sou, however, didn't plan on switching Fannyn, whom he had Dynamaxed.[1] Gigantamax Gengar used Max Ooze: while Dynamax Oranguru attempted to dodge, it was slightly hurt by this attack. Due to Gigantamax Gengar's presence, Sou saw an image of his master - his father - that came from afterlife, motivating Sou to do better. Gigantamax Gengar used Max Ooze once more, to which Dynamax Oranguru used Max Guard to defend itself. As this was Gengar's third move, it reverted to its original form and was quickly defeated by Dynamax Oranguru's Max Darkness. After the battle was over, Gengar helped Allister stand up to watch Professor Magnolia with her Pokémon at her motorhome.[2]
Allister stowawayed on Magnolia's motorhome, which stopped near Glimwood Tangle. Allister rushed out of the motorhome with Gengar to the forest, to catch a Polteageist and a Sinistea that he always wanted.[3] The group then encountered Team Yell, who wanted to battle Schilly and Allister, as well as their Tera and Allister, for Allister was not present during Marnie's Gym Battle. Marnie later arrived and scolded the grunts for their behavior, and joined the group to go towards Ballonlea.[4] Sou later compared Allister's Gengar with Opal's Alcremie, noting that the latter could be Dynamaxed like the former.[5] While taking a ride in Magnolia's motorhome to Hammerlocke, Allister grabbed onto Gengar while she was driving on the bumpy railway.[6] Allister rode on Gengar to the top of Hammerlocke's building, where they found everyone that took part in the battle having fallen unconscious.[7]
