I was sitting on the teal loveseat in my house. I checked my video feed. While the other videos looked interesting, like the Turffield virtual tour and the Circhester boutique clothing review, what caught my attention was a live stream of Leon's exhibition match at the Rose Bowl in Wyndon.
As the crowd cheered and fireworks exploded in bright hues, another man who wasn't Leon entered the field. The tall figure was tan with rare green eyes. He had dark brown hair in a side part fade style and a well trimmed Balbo beard. Despite his potbelly (not visible in his formal attire), his slender appearance has attracted numerous fans, mostly female.
The man's formal attire consisted of a gray eight-button vest over a white shirt, a gray coat with a single gold button on the left lapel, and a cherry-red tie tucked into the vest. Under his upper garments, he wore trousers the same color as his waistcoat and vest. He also wore a black belt with a gold buckle to fasten it, and pointed shoes that were black on the bottom and red on the top. To keep track of time, he wore a gold analog watch on his left wrist.
"Welcome, everyone; welcome to the wonderful world of Pokemon,' the man announced. 'Our beloved Galar region is a wonderful place, with thriving nature, beautiful cities, and many Pokemon to share our lives with!”
Then he takes out of his left back pocket an iconic item most Galar are familiar with, the Pokeball; a spherical catching device with a red shell on top and a white shell on the bottom, separated by a black line and a button. He continues: "As you can see, our society is able to thrive..."
He interrupts his monologue to flick the Pokeball. A roughly spherical, elephant-shaped Pokémon with a copper-colored body appears. The tip of its trunk is shaped like a spoon or shovel which it uses to dig up rocks for ore. It has four stout legs, each with a single front nail, a bulbous dome on its head, and a short bobtail. Most of its body is tangerine, but its belly is lighter. It's also covered in patches of green where the rain has caused the copper in its skin to tarnish. It has two such patches at the base of its trunk, and a mottled pattern of tarnish on its domed skull and on the dorsal side of its body. Its trunk tip and nail edges are also green tinted, and it has a green patch behind each eye. My encyclopedia calls these pachyderms Pokemon, Cufant.
“...thanks to these mysterious creatures we call Pokemon.” The man resumes, “Yes, Pokemon are all around us, in the sea, in the skies, and even with us in our towns.” He then takes out another Pokeball from his right back pocket this time and later says, “And those of us who choose and train Pokemon to battle and compete…we call Pokemon Trainers!” He then faces the camera, as if talking to the person watching, “Oh, but I’m getting carried away. Allow me to introduce myself: My name is Rose, and it’s a pleasure to be here.”
“And now, turn your gaze to Galar’s greatest trainer, your undefeated champion…It’s time for Champion Leon’s exhibition match!” The audience cheered as a trail of smoke pyrotechnics traveled close to the Pokeball shaped center before revealing the champion in a hazy explosion.
Leon was a tall man with long, purple hair and amber eyes. He wears a baseball cap tilted upwards to show off the crown design on the brim, a red fur-lined cape that has logos of sponsors on the back, and a black striped shirt that has a sword and shield on it. He also wears white shorts with white tights underneath with a black and gold diamond pattern down the side.
As he looked at his opponent in confidence, his famous Charizard appeared behind him. It was primarily orange with a cream underside from the chest to the tip of its tail. Its neck was extended, and its face has small blue eyes, slightly raised nostrils, and two horn-like structures protruding from the back of its rectangular head alongside two fangs are visible in its upper jaw when its mouth is closed. Two large wings with blue-green undersides sprout from its back, and a horn-like appendage juts out from the top of the third joint of each wing. A single wing-finger is visible through the center of each wing membrane. Its limbs are short and skinny compared to its robust belly, each of its hands has three white claws, while its stocky legs have cream-colored soles on each of its plantigrade feet.
Leon then strikes his famous Charizard Pose, looking down at his right knee with his left arm raised and hand clenched except his thumb, index, and middle finger sticking out. The crowd followed the same pose(without looking at their right knee of course). His opponent, Raihan, stood on the opposing side of the field alongside his industrial dragon, Duraldon. “Exhibition or not, Leon, your pristine record is about to end-when I beat you here right here today!” The Dragon-type Gym Leader teased. “You know I don’t lose battles Raihan.” Leon responded before a red aura surrounded his Charizard.
The crowd gasped in awe as not only Charizard grew to the size of almost a nine story building, but its appearance changed as well. Its body was more pear-shaped, with its belly glowind a radiant white. Diamond-shaped markings appeared on its stomach and knees, and its talons and claws are longer and sharper.The feet become longer and digitigrade, retaining small glowing soles under the forefeet. The face includes yellow sclera, protruding teeth, and its horns are engulfed in flames. The tip of its tail extends outward with three red clouds circling it, and the wings are shrouded in flames as well.
Even if Raihan’s Duraldon also grew in size, Leon is guaranteed to win, but that might change someday, just not now.
