Out of every region, I always thought Kalos had the weakest Pokémon League. They had some good ideas, like Malva being an ex-Flare member, Siebold being a world-renowned chef, and Diantha being a movie star, but these character developments weren't really elaborated on at all during the main story or post game. Alongside the lack of personality, the Kalos League is possibly one of the weakest, as the Elite Four members only get four Pokémon for both the first and subsequent battles, and they don't even get access to Mega Evolution! Only Diantha gets to utilize a full team and Mega Evolution, and it's just disappointing that the main gimmick of the games is used by so few trainers. So I decided to revamp the teams and themes of the Kalos League. These are just some of my ideas for an improved Kalos League.
Theme: A castle. The Kalos League is a huge, extravagant castle superior in grandeur to even Parfum Palace. It's rustic and old, but also new and beautiful, with gardens crafted by Florges decorating the exterior and Furfrou running about in all different styles. It truly feels royal and magnificent. The Elite Four are housed in four towers, and the Champion's chamber is located in the heart of castle, blocked off by a massive door that only opens once you've defeated the Elite Four. The first three can be fought in any order, but the fourth member is required to be fought last.
Elite Four:
Fighting: I liked Wikstrom's design a lot, so I thought that keeping a knight in the Elite Four would work well for my castle design. This knight is much younger than Wikstrom, but still displays the same amount of chivalry and honor that Wikstrom displays. He specializes in Fighting Types, as evident by his love of combat and the battlefield. He believes that you can't get any better understanding of a person than by engaging them in a Pokémon battle.
Team: Falinks, Sirfetch'd, Kommo-o, Hawlucha, Chesnaught, Mega Gallade
Psychic: My idea for the Psychic-type user is for a wizard. It's fitting, given the theme of the league. He's the oldest member of the Elite Four, and has a look similar to that of Gandalf or Dumbeldore--just think classic fantasy wizard. He possesses skills in witchcraft and alchemy, but has no psychic abilites of his own--his Pokémon take care of that.
Team: Oranguru, Bronzong, Xatu, Slowking, Delphox, Mega Alakazam
Dark: The Dark-type user of the Kalos League is perhaps the most mysterious. He serves as an advisior to the Champion, but nobody quite knows exactly who he is. He's almost ninja-like in a way--he silently sneaks around the castle and straight-up disappears from the league at times. Nevertheless, he's present at the time you challenge the league, so you'll be able to battle him.
Team: Malamar, Hydreigon, Bisharp, Spiritomb, Greninja, Mega Absol
Fairy: The final Elite Four member is the Fairy-type user. She's like the princess of the League, and is the strongest of the Four. She is classy but also snobbish at times, and isn't afraid to use force to get her way, and even seals off her chamber until you defeat the other three members, forcing you to battle her last. Despite her attitude, she recognizes your talent and doesn't hold back in battle.
Team: Hatterene, Florges, Sylveon, Carbink, Togekiss, Mega Gardevoir.
Champion: After you defeat the Elite Four, the giant door in the center of the castle slowly opens up. You've earned a battle with the Champion now. The Champion, also known as the King of the League, accepts your challenge. He's a tall, hulking man, wearing traditional king's clothing with a cape similar to Leon's. He talks about how he's remained undefeated for forty years, and how he will crush you in battle, but if you can manage to defeat his powerful team, you'll be crowned the new champion of Kalos.
Team: Pangoro, Pyroar, Tyrantrum, Volcarona, Aegislash, Mega Diancie
Thanks for reading! I hope you liked my ideas. This isn't anything serious, just some of my silly ideas. Feel free to leave any suggestions or alterations in the comments.
