James and Gholdengo are perfect for each other.
^ Devoted Ogrim (yes, I translated your Russian username and that's what I got), Tyranitar is based on Godzilla.
"Ash Ketchum"
(Dunno why, I just figured Marnie would do some research on him.)
It looked close enough to the real thing, anyway.
Nope, Muffin and Taurus are right — that is 100% a real Mega Charizard X card.
I would know because - like Muffin - I used to have the exact same Mega Gardevoir card from XY Primal Clash.
Yeah, after Piplup tried attacking Pikachu, a Thunderbolt sent the penguin right into Dawn’s bike.
Pikachu’s “Why do I keep doing this?” expression afterward was priceless. XD
Oh, yeah… that garbage retcon in Mystery of the Lighthouse that wasn’t even necessary because Ash (after he gave up the rematch) already told Brock that if he landed the final blow on Onix, he wouldn’t have won fair and square (hence Brock giving the Boulder Badge to Ash and expressing his dream of becoming the world’s best Pokémon Breeder to the young Trainer in the first place).
Seriously, why are there some episodes of the anime that only want to see Ash in total MISERY? *cough* Seeing the Forest for the Trees. *cough*
@Kencourager Dawn thought Ash’s Pikachu was a wild Pokémon, and when she had Piplup try to weaken it with an attack…
You can take a guess.
(Yeah, you’re right. At least with Brock, Ash won the rematch even if he didn’t land the final blow — as Brock said, Ash beat him in both battle and kindness.)
Anyway, my choice can be summed up in one sentence.
Words can not explain how much Misty is at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to travelling companions for me. At least with May, she couldn't stay mad at Pikachu after seeing how much Ash cared for him, and after the bike was out of the picture, May only brought it up to Ash twice and then never brought it up again. Heck, Dawn was annoyed at worst that Pikachu fried her bike, and even then she let it slide because Team Rocket got involved.
Misty, though? She trails Ash for 274 episodes all because her bike got fried, only to find it repaired by the time she, Ash & Brock got back to Viridian City at the end of Season 5. Yep. 274 episodes... on a pointless vendetta. Oh, and Misty even challenged Ash to a Gym Battle favored towards her (she set a limitation that Ash couldn't use Pikachu even though by Episode 7, Ash only had Pikachu, Butterfree and Pidgeotto).
@Technoplasm 3.0 I can see that. Much like with Brock's constant crushes on the female adult characters (such as Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy), what Bonnie does is played off for comedic purposes. However, I do see why people get behind Clemont's point of view with the whole thing, especially when watching the Diancie movie - it is definitely embarrassing for her older brother.
^ I can understand that then. May doesn't exactly have her shining moments when it comes to interactions with her brother either (*cough* Take This House And Shuppet *cough*), and as for Bonnie trying to ship Clemont with random female characters of the day... as I mentioned, people outside of Japan missed out on the Black & White special episode that had Cilan & Brock.
Came back to see that Alain, a character somehow flatter than a piece of paper when it comes to personality on top of having a brain the size of a chickpea, is winning the poll now after Tobias fans started thriving for a bit.
These are hard times.
People who play the Generation 1 games and their Generation 3 remakes on hard mode just blow up sometimes.
@IsleofPigsStudios "Tobias. He's just Ash league loss for the sake of Ash league loss."
Do I need to go on this tangent again? Because I can find and have found my post on the subject of Tobias's image that I made on September 21st, 2023.
On Halloween of 2023, I discussed how I would remake the Sinnoh Elite 4 Teams. I then did not proceed to follow up on remaking the Unova Elite 4 Teams for a whole year. How my memory is that garbage is beyond me, but I do believe I've finally figured a way to go about it.
Same rules as per usual - only covering the bios of new additions to these Elite 4 teams. I know it's been a long wait, so let's do this.
Last installment: https://pokemon.fandom.com/f/p/4400000000003785065
Inspiration: https://pokemon.fandom.com/f/p/4400000000003778540
#1: Shauntal
First, I swapped the Cofagrigus for a Runerigus. Runerigus can learn the same moves that Shauntal's Cofagrigus can use, so I said "why not" and went for it.
Runerigus (♀)
Ability: Wandering Spirit
Held Item: Leftovers
Moves: Shadow Ball, Will-O-Wisp, Energy Ball, Psychic
After that, I kept Shauntal's Jellicent from B&W1, as well as her Banette & Chandelure from B&W2. That being said, I did give Shauntal's Banette the chance to Mega Evolve. This isn't the last crazy decision I'll make for these teams, as you'll soon find out.
Once settled on which Pokémon Shauntal should keep, I gave her a Sinistcha and a Shiny Hisuian Zoroark. Because why not.
Sinistcha
Ability: Heatproof
Held Item: Assault Vest
Moves: Shadow Ball, Magical Leaf, Calm Mind, Iron Defense
Hisuian Zoroark (♀)
Ability: Illusion
Held Item: Focus Sash
Moves: Shadow Ball, Flamethrower, Calm Mind, Aerial Ace
#2: Marshal
If any of you want to complain about type overflow on a trainer's Pokémon team, look no further than Marshal in the Generation 5 games. Seriously, five of Marshal's Pokémon are pure-Fighting types. Five! And the Machamp being exclusive to Black & White 2 makes it worse!
So yeah, his whole team is getting an overhaul. While Lucario and Medicham are definitely staying (and Lucario gets a Lucarionite to boot), the five pure Fighting types are staying in Unova. So what four Pokémon did I chose to join Marshal's Medicham and Lucario then? Well, let's start from Grapploct, the only pure-Fighting type on this new team, and go from newcomers 1 to 4.
Grapploct (♂)
Ability: Limber
Held Item: None
Moves: Brine, Payback, Mud Shot, Seismic Toss
Blaziken (♂)
Ability: Speed Boost
Held Item: None
Moves: Stone Edge, Focus Punch, Bulldoze, Flare Blitz
Heracross (♂)
Ability: Guts
Held Item: None
Moves: Stone Edge, Close Combat, Horn Attack, Trailblaze
Aqua Breed Paldean Tauros (♂)
Ability: Intimidate
Held Item: None
Moves: High Horsepower, Rain Dance, Rock Slide, Surf
I felt like these choices fit Marshal the best, but I'd love to hear all your opinions on them too!
#3: Grimsley
Yep, Grimsley's Bisharp will be evolving... but it's gonna keeping the Chople Berry move pool it had in Sun & Moon's Battle Tree. Grimsley's Absol will also have its move pool taken from Sun & Moon's Battle Tree, this time being for its Absolite move pool. In contrast, Krookodile's move pool will be from the Challenge Mode rematch in Black & White 2.
Now for the three newcomers to Grimsley's team. Remember how I said how giving Mega Evolution to these Elite 4 Teams won't be the craziest choice I make? Well, this is why - two of these newcomers to Grimsley's team have TERA TYPES. And in the fictitious scenario where he's battled with this team, it's a coin flip on which one he Terastallizes.
Obstagoon (♂)
Tera Type: Steel
Ability: Guts
Held Item: Quick Claw
Moves: Assurance, Iron Tail, Thief, Baby-Doll Eyes
Meowscarada (♂)
Tera Type: Grass
Ability: Overgrow
Held Item: Wise Glasses
Moves: Dark Pulse, Energy Ball, Shadow Ball, Play Rough
Bombirdier (♂)
Ability: Keen Eye
Held Item: Scope Lens
Moves: Thief, Rest, Aerial Ace, Icy Wind
Brace yourselves, it begins getting weirder from here.
#4: Caitlin
Caitlin here will be keeping her Gothitelle, her pseudo-legendary, and her Gallade (Gothitelle is her ace, Metagross because in the anime, Cynthia is her mentor apparently, and Gallade because I'm biased).
Galarian Rapidash (♀)
Ability: Pastel Veil
Held Item: Leftovers
Moves: Psychic, Wild Charge, Rest, Megahorn
Mr. Rime (♀)
Ability: Screen Cleaner
Held Item: None
Moves: Brick Break, Psychic, Body Slam, Ice Beam
Armarouge (♀)
Ability: Weak Armor
Held Item: None
Moves: Sleep Talk, Rest, Armor Cannon, Reflect
Moving onto the Blueberry Academy Elite 4 before heading to the Champions, now. This is where things got a little complex for me, because the Blueberry Academy had one Pokémon that wasn't part of their type that they used a Tera Orb for... or, in Lacey's case, TWO Pokémon that weren't part of her specialized type that she could use a Tera Orb on.
I had to look up which Tera Crowns were best for which Pokémon, and I feel like the results I got were... most satisfactory. Let me know what you think!
#5. Crispin
For these remade Blueberry Academy Elite 4 teams, you'll notice a pattern with the returning Pokémon - they've got their first partner Pokémon (I'll never get used to that), their ace, and a Pokémon of theirs I chose because I liked it. In the case of Crispin here, Blaziken is his partner, Magmortar is his ace, and Talonflame was the one I put here because I liked it. I also gave Crispin's Blaziken a Blazikenite because why not. XD
Turtonator (♂)
Ability: Shell Armor
Held Item: Expert Belt
Moves: Earthquake, Heat Wave, Scorching Sands, Dragon Claw
Coalossal (♂)
Ability: Steam Engine
Held Item: Rocky Helmet
Moves: Will-O-Wisp, Overheat, Power Gem, Earthquake
Hatterene (♀)
Tera Type: Fire
Ability: Anticipation
Held Item: Sitrus Berry
Moves: Dazzling Gleam, Psychic, Mystical Fire, Play Rough
#6: Amarys
Amarys's remade team retains Empoleon, Scizor and Alolan Dugtrio. Scizor now has a Scizorite, because why not.
Aggron (♀)
Ability: Sturdy
Held Item: Rocky Helmet
Moves: Stealth Rock, Aerial Ace, Focus Punch, Flash Cannon
Perrserker (♀)
Ability: Battle Armor
Held Item: Leftovers
Moves: Iron Head, Protect, Shadow Claw, Heavy Slam
Hydreigon (♀)
Tera Type: Steel
Ability: Levitate
Held Item: Expert Belt
Moves: Flash Cannon, Dragon Dance, Zen Headbutt, Dark Pulse
#7. Lacey
Lacey's team retains Primarina, Ruby Swirl Alcremie and Whimsicott.
Togekiss (♀)
Ability: Serene Grace
Held Item: Sitrus Berry
Moves: Air Slash, Psychic, Flamethrower, Dazzling Gleam
Gardevoir (♀)
Ability: Trace (as Gardevoir), Pixilate (as Mega Gardevoir)
Held Item: Gardevoirite
Moves: Moonblast, Mystical Fire, Icy Wind, Aura Sphere
Ursaluna (♀)
Tera Type: Fairy
Ability: Guts
Held Item: Expert Belt
Moves: Tera Blast (Fairy), Hard Press, Bulldoze, Headlong Rush
#8. Drayton
Drayton's team retains Sceptile, Archaludon and Haxorus. Sceptile now has a Sceptilite and Archaludon no longer has the Tera Orb because I did a funny.
Tyrantrum (♂)
Ability: Strong Jaw
Held Item: Life Orb
Moves: Earthquake, Stone Edge, Fire Fang, Breaking Swipe
Hakamo-o (♀)
Ability: Overcoat
Held Item: Yache Berry
Moves: Dragon Claw, Brick Break, Iron Head, Dragon Dance
Azumarill (♀)
Tera Type: Dragon
Ability: Thick Fat
Held Item: Expert Belt
Moves: Rain Dance, Ice Beam, Hydro Pump, Bounce
I'm evil, I know. Anyway, let's finish this off with the two Unova champions, Alder and Iris!
#9. Alder
For Alder, I did something interesting. I saved his returning Pokémon for last and began with the new additions. I also gave his Braviary a Hisuian Form because why not.
Quaquaval (♂)
Ability: Moxie
Held Item: None
Moves: Aerial Ace, Swords Dance, Aqua Step, Reversal
Alolan Marowak (♂)
Ability: Cursed Body
Held Item: None
Moves: Stone Edge, Brick Break, Earthquake, Toxic
Nidoking (♂)
Ability: Poison Point
Held Item: None
Moves: Focus Blast, Sludge Bomb, Rest, Thunderbolt
#10. Iris
For Iris, a third of her team is from White, and another third is from B&W2. Meaning Noivern and Hydrapple are completely brand new here. Also, yes, in a fictitious scenario where Iris is battled with this team, it is a coin flip on if Iris either Terastallizes Haxorus or Gigantamaxes Lapras.
Noivern (♀)
Ability: Infiltrator
Held Item: Wise Glasses
Moves: Heat Wave, Focus Blast, Dragon Pulse, Aerial Ace
Hydrapple (♀)
Ability: Supersweet Syrup
Held Item: None
Moves: Grassy Glide, Giga Drain, Dragon Pulse, Heavy Slam
THANK ARCEUS I GOT THIS DONE. I do not know how it took this long for me to follow up on this. Hopefully the next installment, which will feature remade Kalos Elite 4 Teams, will have a much shorter time gap than this did. XD
See you when I see you!
^ What did they ever do to you?
Even if I understand the beef people have with Max, I love the little brother big brother dynamic that he shares with Ash, and do I need to go on a rant on how “Do I Hear a Ralts” is the best episode of the anime?
Plus, Bonnie gives us the refreshing dose of Brock we (and by we, I mean people not from Japan) missed out on in Unova.
Honestly, I'm tossed up between Ritchie and Tobias.
The only reason WHY I put my vote on Ritchie (being the Tobias fan I am, this may be a surprise) is because Ash & Ritchie didn't really get to finish their league match due to Charizard refusing to battle at the time.
That being said, if we put unfinished business with Ritchie aside, if Ash needs to rematch anyone, it's got to be Tobias. There's a lot of mystery behind Tobias that we still don't know about, such as where he's from and how he got two Legendary Pokémon (seriously, that was nuts for me when I saw that episode for the first time. Not complaining though, I would totally bring two Legendaries to face the Elite 4 if I would).
From least to greatest, here's my take on which League rival deserves a rematch with Ash.
Alain ≤ Cameron < Harrison = Tyson < Tobias ≤ Ritchie
Saw Kettlon’s post — seems Liko’s been doing some training.
