Don't get me wrong; Ash has a big heart, helps other people and Pokemon and has a knack for being a hero, stopping bad guys like Team Rocket, but Ash is an immature, oblivious, naive, reckless and impulsive little boy who does all these insane stuff without thinking and asks these rather stupid, ridiculous questions constantly, such as not knowing when a Pokemon is evolving even when it is so obvious or asking if a Pokemon he doesn't know is a Pokemon when it obviously is one. He keeps being tricked by Team Rocket's obvious disguises. I know he is still a little kid, but he will never be a Pokemon Master acting like that.

For those of you who don't know, I made a comment a while back about how there are no player characters (other) in the series, other than May, Dawn and Serena. Having them in the series would've been beneficial to see them in the anime, not just in the games. Maybe they could've appeared as friends, as opponents to battle and etc. They also could've participated in events and battles they did in the games (the players fighting the evil organization of that region, Victor and Hop fighting Chairman Rose with Zacian and Zamazenta instead of Ash and Goh and etc.) They are the ones that should've won the Pokemon League in that season instead of the other characters that won (minus Johto) and Ash in Ultra Sun and Moon. Master Journeys should remedy this mistake and finally introduce them into the series, instead of just in the games and a few cameo appearances in the movies. At the end of it, Victor/Gloria (the player from Sword and Shield) should defeat Leon and become the Champion/Monarch, not Ash.

Even though I know it is never going to happen, I wish they made/are going to make a spin-off series about the playable characters in the game like Brendan, Lucas, Ethan and etc. It would be really cool to see their journey, making new friends, discovering and catching new Pokemon, grow as a person/trainer and most everything else we love from the Pokémon series with Ash. It would be kinda amazing to see a series about a trainer other than Ash. Plus, it would be really cool to see the games we played on TV and not just on our game consoles. Although, other people probably wouldn’t be into it. There’s already the series with Ash and places that we’ve seen with Ash would be a “been there, done that” sort of thing which is really unfortunate.
Pokémon Journeys may be a good excuse for the writers to include the playable characters (other than the ones already in the series like Dawn, May and Serena) in the series. In Journeys, Ash and Goh travel to other regions and learn more about different Pokémon, battling other trainers, catching new Pokémon and etc. Perhaps Ash and Goh could run into the playable characters (Brendan, Calem, Victor, Elio and etc.) while traveling to those regions, befriending them, battling with them and etc. Some playable characters like Brendan, Lucas and Ethan have made appearances in the movies, but they are only minor appearances and not for that long (at most a few seconds). The writers should’ve written them in already, at least as one of Ash’s companions on his journey. Adding them in Journeys could/would remedy this.

^That's right. I've always thought how unfair and ridiculous it is they included them and not the other series, especially the ones that don't include the player character like Black & White, X and Y/XYZ and Sun and Moon/Ultra Sun and Moon. Sure, there were the rare appearances of a few of the player characters like Brendan, Lucas and Ethan in the movies plus Jimmy in Chronicles (heavily based on Ethan/Gold), but no actual speaking and major parts which was really unfortunate and disappointing.
Why doesn’t the Pokémon series and movies just be filmed around the same time, so they would be released at least around the same time so we as watchers and fans could watch it sooner. It wouldn’t even be that hard either. Both the Japanese and American/English-speaking teams would get the script and etc. at the exact same time and there wouldn’t to be a wait for the English version for those that only want to watch the English version not the Japanese version.
I’ve been watching the Pokémon TV series for years now and it makes really angry that the writers never added in the Player characters to the series. I mean sure there are a few exceptions like Jimmy from Pokémon Chronicles, Ethan in the beginning of Zoroark: Masters of Illusions, both Lucas and Brendan in Giratina and the Sky Warrior, Brendan in a few other movies and etc., but no major parts where they are playing a major role and maybe part of Ash’s crew or something. It would’ve been really cool to see and how they interact with Ash.
