Am I the only one on team Gold (in the games) here? I mean, he got 16 badges instead of just 8, he probably has completed the PokeDex completely, with over 100+ new Pokemon in there, and, while it's pretty split on if this happened or not, he beat Red.

If we're suppose to decide between Ash and Red (the title of the topic and the topic's description aren't clear), then Red. Ash doesn't even evolve some of his Pokemon. I mean, for example, Pikachu. Yes, Pikachu decided to stay a Pikachu and it is the mascot of Pokemon, but it was disobeying its owner (which they can't do that in the games, and if the anime is acting like it has ties to the games and all, then it should've let Ash decide). If it would evolve, maybe it wouldn't have that completely strange level change? It loses to a level 5 Snivy, but it beats down legendaries. Why-

Even if we take away that, while Ash is seen to make a bond with his Pokemon, he either releases them or sends them back to Professor Oak (if they're not Pikachu). Why make a bond with your team members when you don't even keep them around after that?

Also he can't win an actual league. Orange Islands doesn't count, since it didn't even exist in other Pokemon adaptations and the game itself.

Favorite male character: Tie between Paul and Barry.

Paul is basically Silver's reincarnation in the anime. He's an actually threatening rival (and not a cocky one), and he's very well-developed. Dude deserves a lot of praise.

I also like Barry! I like his happy-go-lucky attitude and his whole fining people obsession. Great comic relief rival and character overall.

Favorite female character: Mallow.

I honestly don't know why. Maybe because she isn't as flat and stereotypical some of the female characters tend to be??? Plus, her love of cooking just makes her stand out to me, despite the fact that other characters before her were cooks. I seriously don't know why I like her.

I hope you don't mind a bit of constructive criticism.

(It's decent for your first drawing. There's always room for improvement, plus I think you'll do great in the future as an artist if you continue drawing, so don't be discouraged by what i say.)

Vaporeon's face looks a little disproportional. The eyes... Okay, sorry about saying this ahead of time, but it looks like it's staring into my soul. I think there should also be a nose on it. I mean, I think in the official art/games it has a nose??? Probably not but-

The fins on the side of its face are rather odd. One seems to be bigger than the other.

The body starts off decent in the neck area, but the little, off-putting back looks strange, as well as the spikes. The tail doesn't even look like it's attached to the body.

However, like I said earlier, it does look decent despite those little nitpicks. Once again, don't be discouraged- I'm just trying to help you improve by telling you what needs to be fixed.

I hope I see more drawings from you in the future!

Hopes for Gen 8?

First off, I'm back! Sorry that I was gone for so long- I got busy with school and finals. Happy Pride Month btw!

Anyways, the gen 8 games I'm sure everyone hoped would be revealed (they're not, sadly) probably won't come until 2019, seeing how there's rumors that Game Freak is making a new Pokemon game late said year.

So, for now, it's time to ask a probably unoriginal question: what are your hopes for gen 8?

I'd love to see some old trainers return that we haven't seen in a while, like some of the other rivals that aren't Green Oak.

Probably because, well... Imagine if you saw a ghost and tried to touch it. You wouldn't be able to. Since Normal-type Pokemon technically don't have an elemental typing, it's like a human trying to touch a ghost. Same goes for Fighting-types.

Unfortunately, yes. It originally wasn't confirmed to be a legendary until (I believe) 2017. Same goes for Type: Null.

(I only say "unfortunately" because I don't like the sudden change, nor the fact that it's legendary in general.)

And a correction for Micah: it's NOT a pseudo legendary. They have completely different definitions.

According to Bulbapedia, "Pseudo-legendary Pokémon (Japanese: 600族 600 club) is a fan term commonly used to refer to any Pokémon that has a three-stage evolution line, 1,250,000 experience at level 100, and a base stat total of exactly 600 (before Mega Evolving). Pseudo-legendary Pokémon are often more powerful than many other non-Legendary Pokémon due to their high base stats."

If Type: Null and Silvally were pseudo, they would have a third Pokemon in their evolution line, it wouldn't have the official "legendary" status, and they'd have a dual type. I think the only reason why Silvally got the special background is because it wasn't confirmed at the time, so it might've been a temporary mythical.

Silvally is a weird legendary exception, but it's not pseudo.

Item: Every single common one you find everywhere. Need a Full Restore but don't have enough money to buy one and want to hopefully find one on the route you're currently in? Here, have a Poke Ball. You totally need one.

Pokemon: Charizard and its entire evolution line. I cannot escape it. I hate this Pokemon for many reasons not relating to the amount of people who shove it wherever they can to praise this Pokemon, but what makes it worse is how often I see it. It's a special kind of annoying. I also get annoyed by nearly every legendary, especially because of the people in Showdown who have nearly/a full legendary team. It's cheap, it's annoying to face, and takes the fun out of the battle, especially when it comes to Mega Rayquaza.

Z-Move: Eeveeum-Z. It needs no explanation.

Normal move: Hyper Beam. It's powerful, yes, but I hate the recharge. I hate recharge/low PP moves, and Hyper Beam is a prime example.

Nah. Romeo and Juliet, while names you tend not to run across anymore outside of media, is still a regular part of pop culture (the whole "a girl and a boy in love" thing). I don't remember the episode they appeared in, but the whole Romeo and Juliet thing is still relevant to this day. It's not really a coincidence; it's just something feeding into pop culture.

Kalos: I can't decide. Not only was there little no no Fire-types introduced in XY, but the ones that did come out weren't great.

Kanto: I lean towards Arcanine, but Fire-types weren't all that useful in the first game.

Well, yes, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon can be a jerk, that shouldn't ruin the experience completely. Anyways, I personally love it. I don't know how to explain why, but dang it's great.

Well, for me, it's all of Silver's incarnations, mainly the game and manga ones. I can't really tell about him in the anime because he was barely even there (a 2 second cameo in a special and about only 5 minutes in Generations), but in the games and manga? Oh dang is he good.

I don't want to get into too much detail about his development in the games, but he's actually shaped by the experiences he has with the MC. In fact, he's technically the first rival to ever go through any sort of character development. Green was just yelled at by Professor Oak- he didn't really change.

The manga development is also something I don't want to get into much detail, especially since it might spoil one's experience with Pokemon Adventures, but I feel so sorry for him. He's dealt with too much. Poor emo baby...

He's also really relatable for me.
