For my Kabu battle i decide to lead with lele, since duria sets up the rain, it could come in handy later.
Leles stuck in witj fire spin and burn damage, but he eventually overpowers ninetales. However, the damage he took would prove harmful and I swap into haibao soon after (since haibao is a special attacker, the burn isn't that bad).
That said, arcanines bite puts haibao at dangerously low hp, so I swap in duria to finish it off with water pulses before dynamaxing her to fight g max centiskorch.
Luckily for me, duria tanks g max centiferno like a champ and 2 shots witj max geyser. For the first time, dynamaxing a mon during an important battle didn't lead to it's demise.
After that, I reshuffled my team comp and came up with this set up for the team going forward for now. I have the fire water grass trio and charjabug. (Now if only I could get budew to evolve, I'd like a Poison type for bea)
That said soon after izzy gets deleted by a wild mudsdale so misha is reinstated. I should have paid attention ti the level 36...*izzy in the late 10s...yeah I think i need stronger wild area encounters)
Well, I guess this is something. Now as for the name...uh...Proteas (Athens 2004 summer Paralympics mascots. This is a seahorse character but the horsea line is exclusive to IOA which i don't have...)
Tom (Rio 2016 summer Paralympics mascot) was caught as a gloom, and because I had a leaf stone handy, I could evolve her into vileplime immediately. That unfortunately meant I had to part ways with Jingfengwa the budew, thanks for the memories lil guy. (I also evolve lianlian into vikavolt after I noticed is was in north lake miloch)
I also got the in game trade togepi. I tried to rename it but the name rater blocked me, so I'll just call him snips (breaking my nicknames theme but I would probably struggle to nickname him anyway). Oh wait, the soothe bell is nearby? That's great! I can finally evolve roselia...oh wait I sent budew on a pokejob... oh well, I'll just call her back.
Duria and lianlian take out these team yell grunts, the latter somehow still being able to shred them witj x scissor despite trading physical attack for special attack. (Must be the silver powder)
I catch this dugtrio that proved problematic for my great balls but witj durias help was able to get it in. It's named Gomdori (1988 Seoul summer Paralympics mascot)
A quick trip to the npc camp led me to finally evolve Jingfengwa into roselia , and also haibao into gastrodon. Water ground is top 5 defensive type combos so this is a great addition to the team.
Time for another hop battle. Gomdori joined the squad as the lead but tagged to Lianlian to handle cramorant. Jingfengwa makes her battle debut by one hit koing silicobra with mega drain, then tanking thwackeys screech before Poison Jab finishes off her opponent.
Towel, of course, gets deleted by gumdori.
In beas, gym, Huanhuan is sort of put through the ringer as he often needed assistance to take down the gym trainers, only able to barely beat the last one because they lacked dark coverage. Therfore, I had Jingfengwa as the lead. She gets a p jab off but Revenge hurts her a lot so I swap to lianlian to finish hitmontop. Duria then severely damages pangoro with air slash, gets night slashed after missing one and then goes down.
Sirfetch'd was a pain to get around, gumdori even getting sacked to get around it but eventually lianlian took it down.
Since most of my team is crippled, I dynamax lianlian to fight machamp, intending to sack her off. Luckily for me, she barely pulls through via the dynamax candies i gave her and 2 max Lightnings deletes machamp. Phew, if lianlian met her end there it would really suck. (Also she swept bede again, altering her x scissor into bug buzz in the process. I wonder if bede has a grudge on her at this rate).
I saw excadrill in the dusty bowl when I was expecting to find my encounter. I jokingly asked, "can I catch it?" The answer: yes. Welcome aboard, Fuleco (2014 Brazil fifa world cup mascot, name only chosen because sandslash is awol)
Compared the fuleco though...yeah I don't know if barbaracle is necessarily on mons i want to use, but it will do. Ole Hop will be his name (2014 Spain FIBA world cup mascots, who are a pair of hands)
One more encounter before I call it a day: shinotic in glimwood tangle. The name is based on Shuey rhon rhon , the mascot of the Beijing 2022 winter Paralympics. The original bearer of the name was a lantern, but because my soon to be lampent (sweet arceus, how fast time flies), has a different name (Huanhuan), so i had to make do.
I think my current setup is the best I've got, so as long as lianlian, duria, huanhuan and Jingfengwa don't get deleted, I should be ready for the end game. Lets see how that goes, I've got plenty of backup mons to pull from if things go wrong, hopefully I don't expend them all.
