Chapter 6, Olden Life
Year 1272, Ridgeland Arena
"Yet another day sitting alone just tending to the other Pokemon." Tap sat in the Ridgeland Arena, awaiting her daily offering. She was the noble Pokemon of the ridge at this time. She sought out more though. She was once overjoyed to succeed her mother in becoming the new Lady of the Ridge. Now she was bored beyond compare. Though she hurt a lot in her frenzied state she sure wasn't bored. Not like this anyway. All she does for fun anymore is pick on the alpha Roserade down the path a little while out. She barely had anything other than that for fun.
"You have not yet approached me for our daily challenge, weary yet noble?" The alpha Roserade knew Tap well.
"I have begun to get more and more bored as time has gone on. It feels like I'll never leave here." Tap told it.
"I get the feeling. Being an alpha attracts certain trainers. It also has a lot of responsibilities that I never signed up for."
"You're right. My mom tricked me into thinking it was the best thing and then left, leaving me to a false dream." Tap was full of regret.
"You know, though we may fight every time we see each other, we have formed an unbreakable bond between us." Roserade said. It was at that moment they realized what they had done. Roserade began visiting Tap more often to spar, eventually revealing his name. Tap would often forget about the offerings that her warden left to have fun with the Roserade. As time went on the two developed a deeper trust with each other. After a few years the Roserade visited less and less as often. When Tap went to visit it was revealed that Roserade had fallen terribly ill. At what seemed like the darkest moment, Tap joined the Roserade at his side as he lay sickly on the ground.
"Please do not let go, you cannot. I beg of you, please don't." Tap pleaded the Roserade.
"Tap, you know it is time, as I am different than you, Roserade like me don't live anywhere near as long as Liligant. Please you must let me go, you can move on." The Roserade said.
"I cannot. When we met you gave me the joy of my life. I could not thank you enough." Tap said.
"Tap, as my final wish before I depart, I want you to move on. I will only then be at true rest." The Roserade shut his eyes, prepared for what was to come.
"I cannot feel a pulse. I'm sorry Miss Noble but he is gone." One of the roselias said. Tap sobbed. She had just lost the one thing that kept her happy.
The next day Tap awaited her daily offering, to say goodbye to her warden. She wasn't going to live a life of unhappiness.
"My, this is the first time you have shown yourself in front of me!" The new warden walked up to Tap. Tap danced away, if it was a new warden it wasn't worth her time.
Modern day
"1 2, 3 4, 1 2 3 4. 5 6, 7 8, 5 6 7 8." Tap repeated. "9 and 10!" She started over. This was her daily dance routine. It was now Wednesday. She got up very early to do her routine so she could get her morning dance out of the way before making breakfast for everyone.
"W-" SMACK!!! Wall rammed into Tap's door! Tap sighed. "Sorry Tap." Wall said as soon as he got his head unstuck.
"It's alright, you can't help it and I'm ok with that." Tap reassured him. She blushed, thought she quickly realized it and looked away. She felt the same way with Wall that she felt with the Roserade long ago. "I need to go get started on breakfast." Tap quickly excused herself. She felt overwhelmed. She quickly remembered how she got here, she ran off into the distance. After she got far enough she saw a circle with a rainbow on top. She entered that circle but as soon as she did… she ended up here. She later found Vetran, as Vetran invited her to live with everyone else. Overjoyed, she accepted. She's had a true life since. Despite still missing the Roserade, she has to look forward and move on, for him.
Later
Tap has been cleaning and dusting and preparing food all day. After the hard day's work, before going to bed there is something special she does. Every night she goes to the spring not far away from the den. She goes to the Spring to pray to the Roserade. She has done it every day since she discovered it. Since she has little time for it anywhere else in her schedule she goes at night, when she returns she goes to sleep. Right now is about the time she leaves.
At the Spring
"Roserade, I am at a point where I don't feel like I can let go. Even looking at Wall reminds me of you. Sometimes I wish I wasn't Immortal, but I am. Becoming frenzied took its toll and made me. Thanks to Almighty Sinnoh, we can never be together again. But know this, I loved you, and always will. Still I will try my hardest to move on. Even if to move on means to somehow return home to my warden." Tap sighed. "I had a premonition. The den was overtaken by a distortion and everyone changed. I thought it was a worthless dream until Kick became so happy to do the one thing she hated. Something beyond even my control is here. But as a noble Pokemon, I shall try my best."
Predictions anyone? See you next time!
