I’d like to share my overall thoughts on the Sprigatito evolution line and critique it. First up, Sprigatito obviously looks more like a fox cub than a cat in my opinion, regarding on the ears and tail. It also looks a little bland in my opinion, it could use a colored tail tip or something. Still cute in my opinion overall, was one of my favorite pokemons since release. Next up with Floragato, I love how it’s anthropomorphized, and it also has darker colors which is appealing to me. Could use a different shade of light green in my opinion, but overall a brief 8.5/10 in my experience. Finally Meowscarada, which is also one of my favorites could have possibly kept the yo-yo, they could’ve also probably added a pair of ears behind the mask, looks a little blander than other final evolutions in my point of view.

Trying something different this time; instead of a long winded screenshot spam, I'm gonna just give smaller status updates.

Commentary:
-Low level Hoppip is weak...I'm was struggling on the first route...(multiple blackouts due to it being only member), frustration led me to bring sprig back out so the game can be played, though Tail whip alleviated this (never thought I'd ever say I'm grateful for Tail whip)
-Hoppip was named after gyro man from mega man, a franchise I started watching lately.
-I wish there was a skip cutscene button for some of the sequences and, I really hate how long tje gen 9 intro is, coupled with hoppip being so hard to raise made unable to even reach arven battle no. 1 today as my switch power was drained fast.

(My dad can't get Cobblemon for some reason so I decided to go with this)
Current Goals:
Catch a legendary/mythical Pokemon (Haven't completed)
Get a mega evolving Pokemon (Haven't completed)
Defeat a 6 star max raid Pokemon (Haven't completed)
Begin a shiny cult (Haven't gotten first shiny)
Guess who I nicknamed each of these Pokemon after!
Garfield (Sprigatito) (Difficulty: Easy)
Monokuma (Teddiursa) (Difficulty: Semi-Easy)
Shobai (Meowth) (Difficulty: Hard)
Steve (Nacli) (Difficulty: Easy)
This is Fyto, my Sprigatito/Rockruff fusion!
Hopefully this works because Fandom is being glitchy rn
After the devastating defeat that was my recent Sword nuzlocke, I decided I probably need to switch gears a bit. By chance, I managed to get to permission to use one of my brothers alt accounts because he doesn't really play switch anymore, and thus I'm able to return to paldea in 2024 with this new series.
Since I just, umm, lost a nuzlocke, I'm probably not gonna use nuzlocke rules for this playthrough.
As for the theming, well, I was thinking, it doesn't matter what game I play, my teams are almost always never 100% new mons, there's always been some old mons first introduced elsewhere that have been on my team. So,what if I try to only use Paldean mons? During my initial playthrough I'm pretty sure only skeledirge, gargancl and clodsire saw play, and I think I've never really used a lot of gen 9s massive dex otherwise, aside from maybe a few in some other playthroughs I've done. So...why not start afresh and try to only use them instead?
The name Joyce comes from an alternate name I've come up with one of my Transformers OCs, if you're curious. I also nearly considered trying character customization but decided against it at the end since I've probably got poor taste in style.
Anywho while I toil through the long intro off screen, my only goal is to find dia- umm I mean, beat Ai Sada of course. What was I gonna say again?
Rules:
-Gen 9 mons only. Only exceptions will be made for mons who have new gen 9 evos like primeape to annihilape (though I'd actually have to evolve them eventually), as well as Paldean Tauros, wooper and clodsire.
-No Mon left unused: I think I'll force myself to rotate between members between each team star base, gym, and titan. One Mon has to go for each as soon as I catch my 7th one.
-Every Mon should have a nickname. Since I'm kinda into Olympic mascots right now, that would probably be what I'll go with theme wise. It doesn't matter how much it fits, I have to pick a name.
As a side challenge I should maybe try to use the pokemon picnic function as much as possible between gyms/team star bases/titans to take breaks.
I wonder what this is based on?
I mentioned in my horizons premiere "vlog" that I kinda want to use sprig as my starter becuz of likos and complained I didn't have a save file ready.
Well, welcome aboard, Magique!
Magique may be a weird name choice, but meowscarada has a magic fantasy vibe with it use of sleight of hand, and so does this lil one. (Anywho my car beast nemonas duck, how surprising)
Hopefully I can learn to use many of paldeas many mons throughout this playthrough.
This was a hard one....
Since no Olympics used pigs as their mascot, I had to make do with a beaver. Bidoof isn't in the game anyway and lechonk fills the same role as Bidoof anyway.
Now speaking of early route...
This is gonna be a bit of a stretch. Tarountula evolves into spidops. Pimpnite used a spidops named Australia once. Hence I looked for the Olympics mascots from the land down under, since the spider was a girl, I chose the female ones name.
I then catch a Pawmi.
I named him after Miga (3rd from left). Sure Migas supposed to be a sea-bear or whatever, but they looks similar enough to me.
(Unfortunately the koraidon cave has no new catchable wild mons...so I'm gonna blast through that real quick and skip to the first arven battle)
Weirdly enough pawmis apparently unable to break through skwovet and goes down despite being level tied. Magique does defeat skwovet though.
Miga later defeats the first trainer with his Static ability activating.
This is a bit of a tricky one to explain.
Shuss design is very, very simple. It's a single line with a ball head. It's kinda like wiglett in a way. Plus I'm not sure where else I'd be able to use the name.
This name was much easier to pick.
Reason: fidough evolve into that dog breed.
Remember the group of 4 mascots from earlier? I used another if their names here.
Another one that's hard to name.
Why did I choose Phryge? Honestly I think it's because shroodle looks like it.
Anywho neither Mukmuk nor phryge will see action right now.
How did Magique tank Tera T shock? It's all in his name. I guess maybe sprig isn't a bad starter for this part and it can be retired after beating klawf... except I won't do that.
Uhh...what's koraidon doing here? I haven't unlock it's riding mode yet.
I chose... poorly.
Oh tera...how much I missed you.
Umm...I'm still unsure of Penny's relationship to peony and rose.
I'm gonna end this here.
I'll wrap up the tutorial next week...and maybe go defeat klawf first?
Please rate the following pokemon:
1- sprigatito
2- Umbreon
3- Treeko
4- Rowlet
5- Miridon
Note: I see how people are not enjoying Umbreon too much. well I'm giving my rating on these pokemon.
Sprigatito- 10/10
Umbreon- 10/10
Treecko- 8/10
Rowlet- 10/10
Miridon- 10/10
Early screening event courtesy of local broadcaster
Forgive the tardiness, this is just all raw information that I'm trying to convey in "real time" (in the order they appear). It's also free to walk in, hence I could come here.
(this is like those kitakami balloons in ogre ousting)
(The gear is too big for rowlet)
Luckily, I don't need to use Bulbapedia to find answers.
That's sneaky....who would even look at this?
I'm personally not gonna watch this (not too interested in Hz), so there won't be as much stuff unless something cool appears.
Episodes selected: 1-2 (3-4 would be aired later, though they accidentally aired ep 3s OP early, next week will immediately start airing to local channel and first 22 goes to local streaming services)
That said seeing sleeping Rowlet again was funny.
The Pokedex describing a runway sprig though...(The meowing is kinda cute...maybe I'll just provid commentary)...and I wish I didn't expend all my scarlet save files because I want to use sprig after this.
I'm unable to hear the dialog becuz it's kinda noisy...
It feels jarring to watch this when I know whats up with everything...the first episode also makes the first shots of the rising volt tacklers as sus and untrustworthy as amethio....I hope this is the intended intent and I'm not getting zoruark'd (as in tricked by illusion ) or mentally manipulated by like elgyem or something.
Charizard can hold its own against a gen 9 min? The "Charizard is gfs golden boy" allegations continue.
*Terapagos shell is gleaming! It's distorting type matchups!* (I think it's what happened during the forcefield thing in hindsight thanks to indigo disk)
Also I think friede and amethio have the best dub voices so far.
An interesting choice: pokemon Asia apparently realized people hated anipoke English openings, so they dubbed the Korean ones
. Apparently the broadcast ones here will use that same OP..(I'm so sorry westeren anipoke fans)
Can someone confirm if the woman here has the same dub VA as Jessie? They sound familiar.
I appreciate the brave olivines CGI is cool (seems very like something out of the movies). Noctowls cooing<Rowlets hooting. (It also sounds like ash's unfezent)
(The liko 4th wall break seemingly didn't feel jarring)
Can Pikachu learn thunder punch? I've never used one...
(Also someone said super leafage used by sprig was leafstprm....which sprigatito can't use but floragato and meowscarada can...that said anipoke often throws movesets out of the window so can I actually comment stuff like that?)
Paldeas starter drifb- I mean balloons...and my small lil party I brought here.
I also feel stupid that horizons logo is colored red and blue (kinda close to SVs colors)... And it's crystalline becuz tera...I didn't notice that until just now.
Well, my phone's power is getting low, so I'd better quick teleport back to my house to charge it. Thanks for reading!
Imagine, you settle down for a picnic with egg lv. 1 with a ditto and just a sprigatito for a shiny.
Ok you have ur egg now, time for talonflame.
Egg hatches:
Miraidon/Koraidon comes out.
Not sprigatito.
Imagine Gamefreak didnt tell anyone and waited for us to work it out
While youre at it, could you unlock shiny locked legendaries?
Wait, we cant have too much fun, can we?

So i got the three paldean starters as mystery gifts in violet. as someone who hasnt completed the mmain story, i dont know if ill be able to obtain them/ catch them later on. i want to keep my likos sprigatito, dots quaxly and roys fuecoco all unevolved since they are special. but i also want to evolve them for the dex.
Will i get a chance to catch them later?
Should i evolve them or keep them as they are?
I have a floragato (i picked sprigatito btw )
