Disclaimer:

The following Writing Practice/One-Shot takes place within an AU (Alternate Universe)m, which means there are elements such as events and characters that don’t appear in the canon media.

Ult stared at Gemma and Liko, and noticed Gemma’s Eevee.

“You two look weak,” he said, bluntly. Liko and Gemma were taken aback by this stranger’s sudden insult. Roy jumped in.

“Uh, this is Ult. He’s someone I met while in Kalos. Sorry for his-”

“Rudeness?” Gemma interrupted, putting a hand on her hip. She raised an eyebrow and scowled at Ult, not appreciating the insult.

“I was going to say ‘bluntness,’ but rude works too, I guess,” Roy said, his shiny Lucario and Crocalor on either side of him.

“Say, why don’t we have a battle?” Ult suggested, grinning wildly.

Gemma took a better look at the boy. He had green hair that was tied in a small braid at the end, and he had two little tufts that resembled horns. He was also much shorter than the rest of them, so Gemma guessed he must be a little younger.

“Sure, I don’t see why not,” she said with a shrug. Gemma looked at Liko, who looked a little worried, and whispered to her.

“Are you sure? You haven’t battled since… well, you know…” Liko trailed off, and Gemma knew exactly what she was talking about, but gave her friend a slight smile.

“Don’t worry, I’ll be fine,” she said, unzipping her jacket so she could move around easier and so she wouldn’t get hot while battling. Gemma was wearing green overalls and a purple sleeveless crop top, as well as a black glove she always wore.

Gemma handed Liko her jacket, and stretched her arms, getting ready to battle.

“Alright, Sableye! You’re up!” Ult’s Sableye jumped out from beside him to in front of him.

Her Eevee jumped up and down, raring to go, causing Gemma to giggle at it a little.

“Sorry, Eevee, but since Sableye is a Ghost type, your attacks won’t do much.” Eevee grumbled, and it walked over to sit next to Liko. Roy stepped between the two trainers.

“If you don’t mind, I’ll be the ref,” he said, which both Ult and Gemma agreed to.

“Salamence, spread your wings!” Gemma tossed out a Dream Ball, and out popped her Salamence, who roared loudly, flapping its wings. It glared at Gemma, slightly annoyed.

“I know, I know, you haven’t battled in a while. But don’t worry, this should be fun.” Gemma crossed her arms across her chest, and grinned, her curly black hair blowing in the breeze.

“Now, battle, begin!” Roy said, raising his hand to signal the start of the battle.

“Sableye, use Confuse Ray!” Ult commanded, and his Sableye obeyed, with rings firing from its gem-like eyes towards Salamence. The attack hit, and Salamence growled, shaking its head as small bird-like creatures whirl around its head. Salamence had become confused.

“Sableye, use Shadow Claw!” Ult commanded, taking advantage of the Confusion. Sableye obeyed, and its claws were cloaked in a ghostly energy as it rushed at Gemma’s Salamence, who was just standing there.

Sableye slashed at Salamence, who reeled in pain, and then shook its head, trying to shake off the confusion.

“Dragon Claw!” Gemma commanded, but Salamence was still confused. Gemma grit her teeth, and could only watch as Sableye continued to unleash Shadow Claw after Shadow Claw on her Salamence.

Eventually, Salamence managed to shake off the Confusion, and dodged the next Shadow Claw. Sableye backed away, awaiting its trainer’s next command.

“Phantom Force, let’s go!” Ult commanded. Sableye let out a grunt, and disappeared into a shadow. Salamence started looking around frantically, and Gemma was also trying to predict what would happen next.

Sableye popped up behind Salamence, and slashed at its tail, disappearing once again.

“Use Dragon Tail when it comes back out!” Gemma shouted, and Salamence growled, anticipating the next attack. It was then hit from the front, and attempted to smack Sableye with a Dragon Tail attack, but Sableye vaulted away, landing in front of its trainer. Gemma growled a little.

“Salamence, fly up!” Gemma commanded, and Salamence growled, spreading its wings and soaring into the air.

Meanwhile, on the sidelines, Liko was watching the battle with a slight worry on her face. Gemma wasn’t battling the same way she usually did.

“Draco Meteor!” Gemma commanded, and Salamence obeyed by firing draconic energy into the air, which exploded and started coming down as meteors.

“Climb right up and use Shadow Claw!” Ult commanded with a grin on his face. His Sableye also grinned with a big toothy smile, and started jumping up the meteors to get close to Salamence. Gemma yelped in surprise, and Salamence was also shocked.

Sableye managed to close in and slash Salamence with another Shadow Claw, sending it falling to the ground. Gemma looked up at her Salamence, and a memory started resurfacing, but she shook it away, and watched as her Salamence slammed into the ground, and Sableye gracefully landed, grinning widely.

“Salamence, are you alright?” Gemma shouted to her injured Pokemon. Salamence roared in response, indicating that it was fine to continue battling.

“Then use Dragon Claw!” Salamence rushed forward, claws glowing with draconic energy. Sableye managed to leap over Salamence, and landed another Shadow Claw.

“Guess I was right. You are pretty weak,” Ult said, grinning. Gemma gritted her teeth.

“Salamence, use-”

“Sucker Punch, Sableye!” Ult’s Sableye quickly rushed forward and struck Gemma’s Salamence with a Sucker Punch before it could attack.

“Sableye’s small size is giving it a distinct advantage,” Roy said, watching the battle. Liko looked at Gemma, who looked very tense. And on-edge.

“Salamence, use Dragon Claw!” Gemma commanded. Salamence rushed forward once again with its claws glowing with draconic energy, and slashed at Sableye, who jumped out of the way to dodge.

“Follow up with Dragon Tail!” Gemma shouted, as her Salamence’s tail was coated in draconic energy, and it smacked Sableye, finally managing to land a hit. Salamence panted, and Sableye stood up, largely unfazed.

“Well, then! Guess we might as well wrap this up!” Ult rose his arm, revealing a Mega Ring. Gemma gasped in surprise as Ult touched two fingers to the Keystone in the bracelet and lifted it up in the air.

“Sableye, Mega Evolve!” Ult’s Sableye’s stomach started glowing, and a round stone was faintly seen. Sableye was coated in a pink light, and bright blue waves of light went from the stone and yellow waves came from the Mega Ring, and eventually connected, turning white and Sableye started growling as it transformed. The gem on its stomach started throbbing, and eventually exploded from the Pokemon, and grew in size to be bigger than Sableye itself. Sableye’s horns grew as well, and it appeared from the flash of light, roaring.

“Mega Sableye?!” Gemma stared in surprise, and her Salamence growled.

“Sableye, use Phantom Force!” Sableye disappeared, and started teasing Gemma’s Salamence by popping up all over the place before striking its wing and fleeing again.

“Salamence, calm down and observe Sableye!” Gemma yelled to her Pokemon, and Salamence nodded, watching Sableye pop in and out of the shadows, letting any attacks hit. Eventually, its eyes widened, and it coated its tail in draconic energy, using a Dragon Tail attack to smack Sableye.

Gemma pumped her fist and grinned.

“Salamence, keep on the pressure by using Dragon Claw!” Salamence roared and its claws glowed with draconic energy, rushing towards Sableye and delivering a flurry of Dragon Claws. Sableye blocked all of them with its giant gem shield, teasing Salamence, who growled in frustration.

“Keep using Dragon Claw!” Gemma commanded, and Salamence continued to use a flurry of Dragon Claws, but Sableye dodged and backflipped out of the way of all of them. Gemma growled in frustration, and Salamence mirrored its trainer's anger.

“Sableye, use Phantom Force!” Ult commanded, and Sableye disappeared again, leaving behind its gem. This gave Gemma an idea.

“Salamence, grab Sableye's gem!” She commanded, and Salamence roared in response, rushing forward to grab the large red gem with its claws just as Sableye popped out to strike, using the gem to block the strike.

“Seriously?!” Ult growled, confused about what Gemma was doing.

Gemma adjusted her choker, and revealed a Mega Keystone dangling from it. Ult gasped in surprise as Gemma grabbed the Keystone, and a yellow wave of light exploded from the keystone as a Salamencite gleamed from Salamence’s neck, and a blue light exploded from it. The waves of light went towards each other and connected, turning the light white, and Salamence became coated in a pink light and began shifting, its wings merging into a crescent shape and its horns getting longer. It roared as it emerged from the pink light, revealing its Mega Evolution.

Liko and Roy cheered for Gemma, as she whipped her hand forward.

“Salamence, use Sky Drop and toss that gem!” She commanded, and Salamence rushed into the air with incredible speed, then started plummeting, cutting the air with its crescent-shaped wings, Sableye panicking as it got closer. Salamence slammed Sableye’s red gem onto it, which caused an explosion of dust and dirt.

When the dust settled, Sableye weakly stood up, holding onto its gem.

“Salamence, Dragon Rush!” Gemma called out, and Salamence coated itself in draconic energy that shaped itself into a dragon-like shape.

“Sableye, quick! Use Sucker Punch!” Ult commanded. Sableye attempted to use Sucker Punch, but it collapsed on one knee, and Ult gasped as Salamence rocketed forward with Dragon Rush, slamming into Sableye with full-force, and causing another explosion of dust and dirt. Liko, Roy, Ult, and Gemma all braced themselves from the explosion.

When they looked back, and the dust settled, Sableye was on the ground, defeated. It reverted back into its normal state, as did Gemma’s Salamence, who collapsed on the ground in exhaustion. Gemma ran over to it, and put its head in her lap, petting it gently.

“You were amazing, Salamence. Now, get a good rest,” she said, taking out Salamence’s Dream Ball. Salamence let out a small roar before it was coated in red energy and sucked back into the Dream Ball with a whoosh. Ult walked up to Gemma, Sableye in his arms, as she stood up.

“I… suppose you’re not as weak as I thought,” he said, begrudgingly putting his hand out to Gemma, who looked at it, smiled, and shook it.

“You’re not so bad yourself,” she said, her Eevee jumping on her shoulder and squeaking with approval.

“Gemma, you were incredible!” Roy said, his eyes gleaming. Liko nodded in agreement.

“You’re next, though,” Ult said, pointing at Liko, who looked with surprise and confusion, pointing at herself.

“Me?”

Ult grinned, and Roy laughed at the boy’s enthusiasm. Gemma smiled sheepishly, and giggled a little.

Personally, I am more inclined to believe they're only the main characters for Horizons, and they're going to be replaced in the next series.

I love seeing Dot and Penny interact, these 2 are fr some of my recent favorites. And Dot's reaction to Penny knowing she was Nidothing is adorable and hilarious 😭

Also, asides from that, I really loved seeing how Liko and Roy's battling skill has developed!!! Seeing them use strategy in that battle, and reflecting on their past battle, really just shows how far they've come! Amazing episode, bless the writers fr

So i watch horizons via bbc iplayer, and it only has up to ep 40 (as of now) and i am sick of seeing spoilers for later episodes where, to me, the more appealing and exciting/progressing stuff (evolution etc.) is evidently taking place, and i also want to watch more because i am very impatient and have been waiting for ages, but i dont know where to watch it. horizons is unavailable on my netflix, and i dont really know what country it is aired on netflix.

Is there anywhere else to watch it? (or will i need a VPN?)

If there is an online site you wish to suggest, i am looking for non-virus, legal sites.

So i got the three paldean starters as mystery gifts in violet. as someone who hasnt completed the mmain story, i dont know if ill be able to obtain them/ catch them later on. i want to keep my likos sprigatito, dots quaxly and roys fuecoco all unevolved since they are special. but i also want to evolve them for the dex.

Will i get a chance to catch them later?

Should i evolve them or keep them as they are?

I’m talking about when they are in danger. Ex: caught in the turbulence in Horizons, why not return your Pokémon to their balls and put them away so you only have to focus on getting yourself in while at the same time saving all of you?

Another example from Horizons is when sprigatito got kidnapped, return it to it’s ball before they escape with your ONLY current companion.

And it’s not just horizons, when people are rushing their Pokémon to the Pokecenter, I say it’d be more convenient to carry a very lightweight object than a few extra pounds.

And I know there’s gonna be that person who says: “But if multiple Pokémon are fainted it will get cluttered!” Pokeballs S H R I N K.

Pretty much what I’m trying to say is, the poke balls are there for a reason, you can use them in danger.
