Hint: Have something to do with their face
I've always been reliant on evolving for most of playthroughs if I'm honest, so what if I couldn't do it? Theres only 1 rule to this: I'm not allowed to see the animation above: I must mash B to stop it. The only eligible mons are either basic stage (like my namesake) or no Evo mons (like Tauros, needed due to me lacking eviolite for a huge portion).
Most of my other rules I use like 1 raid per achievement and 1 Mon per area are probably not going into play this time due to...well, me being stuck with baby mons, I need all the help I can get in terms of exp and who I can use. The only exception being I should try to use everyone at least once.
This was a tougher decision than normal, but I ultimately went with Fuecoco. It has 3 weaknesses compared to sprigatitos 5, and while water is a good defensive typing, quaxly...well...
Yeah those defenses....
I'm using this nickname again because... 🐊.
As for knowing more about him...
...I dunno if +speed nature even matters since it's gonna be basically as slow as Amoonguss the further we go, but alright.
Forget late game, Krool can't outsped sprig! Hopefully his bulk allows him to handle this without unaware.
Yeah...
I wonder if Z-A will change anything about this...
This is a reference to pimpnites battle against a full team of shiny deoxys in bdsp, where he used a spoink named this he got from someone else.
Attack at the cost of special defense? Ok...
Huh, my first playthrough Hoppip (now Jumpluff) is female too, what are the odds.
I already used "whirl" last time, so I decided to try a different transformers helicopter name, and eventually settled on "Blades".
Since Hoppip is a Johto Mon, I'm not sure whether nature would help, and also apparently her ability is chlorophyll . (Krools is blaze and Ziggy piggys is aroma veil btw, I checked)
Finally, I caught a female Pawmi and named the rather generic not a reference to anything "Shockie".
She has a mild nature and her ability is static...and unfortunately she got burned by krools ember. And that's all the encounters I've caught here, so let's move on our first encounter with koraidon.
I know, you were banned from regulation H and feeling sad about it, but you'll be unbanned soon, I promise!
I attempted to feed it a Hoppip leaf but that didn't work. It has to be the sandwich. I was just messing around admittedly, but the fact that the menu teleported to select the sandwich when I talked to koraidon implies they probably anti funny businessed it.
In the cave I caught a Diglett and named her holeymoley(because...mole? Pimpnite used dugtrio with that name for some his setups I think). I tried to see if I can find out about her during the houndoom scripted battle but I could only pick fight and watch Krool retreat to his PokeBall in fear. (Outside the cave, she's revealed to have a Naive Nature, take plenty of siestas and her ability is sand veil instead of arena trap like I hoped. Oh well)
Yeah...of only that plot point wasn't locked until post game, but idk...
Yeah I'd rather not. (Why is miraidon only a thing on the Pokemon Violet timeline?)
Maybe the Paradox Duo should have gotten a slow start retool where they start as this and then transform into their battle forms after a while now...but slow start sucks so maybe that was for the better. (And arven reminds me it shouldn't be fighting in this state...right before Krool defeats his skwovet with ease)
My 6th member is going to be daisy the Psyduck. I was choosing between psyducks bulk or buizels firepower, I decided Psyduck was maybe better.
Also ofc I get a good nature on a Mon I don't think needs it.
After that I caught 2 more mons: Falco the Fletchling (Male, Calm Nature, Somewhat of a clown, ability is big pecks) and Baguette the Fidough (Female, Mild Nature, loves to run, Ability is Own Tempo). They'll join the team rotation for now, most likely replacing holeymoley and blades. (Though I need holeymoley to counter nemonas pawmi->pawmo->pawmot).
Speaking of holeymoley, I wanted to send her out against nemonas tera Pawmi, but accidentally sent out Ziggypiggy, who triggered static while tackling it. I do eventually manage to swap in moley anyway and somehow Pawmi had no answers to a ground type in this phase.
Also you have to fight the team star grunts. No way around it! Krool easily took care of both!
*insert obligatory Geeta is terrible joke pre dlc here* (also usually I go to arven first, this time I'm switching things up)
Why did arven have to be portrayed as a mean person when we first met? I wish I knew. (Anywho I'm sparing you guys the exposition, it's probably very familiar... though the length....sweet Arceus where's the skip cutscene button? I have to mash a like I'm stuck in some SSB characters grab)
Why is masbosstiff censored again? I know there's an in game reason for it, but...it admittedly feels weird when you think about it.
Bananas and smoliv oil really don't mix well... (First time I've failed a sandwich)
I guess that wraps up today's episode.
Also I'm gonna try something my previous playthrough didn't use: having comments choosing my team.
I have 9 mons right now (Zelda the hattena was from a raid) that are sure to increase, so I'll be asking about this at the end of each of these:
Who should I swap out for my next episode and why? (It would affect who I'll take on)
(Pinglist (pls indicate if you want off/on below too)
https://pokemon.fandom.com/f/p/4400000000003872971
I decided to add phryge to the team...becuz I feel Shuss' terrible HP may cost me. Grafaiai may be on the lower end of Paldean mons for me but I feel using it is better than wugtrio getting deleted in 1 hit.
(I undo this decision after deciding to take on klawf first)
Sure! (I'm looking forward to using a Mabostiff on his behalf admittedly)
I just realized great tusk is the only paradox I can use because of the titan and "my goal is to beat ai Sada"
I wonder if the titans are stronger than he average mon.
Dull surprise! (Uses chilly reception)
Anywho I think I wish SV had Skippable cutscenes, I'm sparing you guys by not screenshotting everything.
I just realized geetas appearance could foreshadow her using glimmora: her gloves is glimmora petals and her hair is the spikes.
Also from now on I'll probably try to be more selective with my captures since I already have 8 to rotate between (or more like 7 becuz sprigs a fixture), I don't think I need that many.
Thats a big Mon...
Maybe that should have been a red light about how she can send a contact remotely... without using a rotom phone...
Anywho, klawf? I think it could be easy? Shuss terrible stats shouldn't let me down against something with type disadvantage right? Right?
We'll be right back after this argument....
(That said I wish this argument kinda had substance since they allow me to do all 3...even saying I must do all 3)
I'm gonna give myself an extra challenge: no using koraidon to do stupid stunts like jump down from high places.
In the wilds I catch a Nacli...who has Sturdy instead of purifying salt.
I realized I brain farted here by choosing a living snowball from Korea as opposed to the special stone from china that is right there...oh well
Of course Magique evolved before everyone else...of course. And Titan klawf manages to put up a good fight against him in the first phase, Magique only barely triumphs without tera (I used on pawmi earlier to take out an annoying opponent) via leafage spam, and klawfs ability also activated.
On phase 2 I use Schuss instead, and recharged my tera orb beforehand. Unfortunately tera aqua jet fails to defeat klawf and a rock tomb flattens shuss, and Magique is forced to have rematch with klawf, and thanks to arvens shellders support, has a much better time taking on the giant crab.
(Game screenshots ceased here because my phone camera temporarily couldn't work, so take my word for everything that happened next).
Afterwards, kinda like an anipoke episode, klawf joins the team. I name her that Chinese stone mascot I didn't use on nacli earlier, replacing Shuss. On the way to cortondo, a quick raid with phryge gets enough rate candies to evolve Miga into pawmo,
Miga helps take down the gym trainers in the smoliv maze with his newfound strength (though Lele had to help him with...kricketune of all mons
Jeez). Soon after, thanks to me messing around with his 1000 steps mechanic as soon as he evolved, he evolves into pawmot after defeating an igglybuff, marking the fastest Mon to fully evolved on any playthrough session I've ever done.
Admittedly, I was shocked to learn he doesn't get double shock until level 60...yikes. That said he got wild charge. In the beginning of the game...I click tera and press A to win. Becuz of their low HP if the first 2 , he's able to do that.
That's all for today, I hope Giacomo is ready for me, because his base is gonna be next on my list...
After the devastating defeat that was my recent Sword nuzlocke, I decided I probably need to switch gears a bit. By chance, I managed to get to permission to use one of my brothers alt accounts because he doesn't really play switch anymore, and thus I'm able to return to paldea in 2024 with this new series.
Since I just, umm, lost a nuzlocke, I'm probably not gonna use nuzlocke rules for this playthrough.
As for the theming, well, I was thinking, it doesn't matter what game I play, my teams are almost always never 100% new mons, there's always been some old mons first introduced elsewhere that have been on my team. So,what if I try to only use Paldean mons? During my initial playthrough I'm pretty sure only skeledirge, gargancl and clodsire saw play, and I think I've never really used a lot of gen 9s massive dex otherwise, aside from maybe a few in some other playthroughs I've done. So...why not start afresh and try to only use them instead?
The name Joyce comes from an alternate name I've come up with one of my Transformers OCs, if you're curious. I also nearly considered trying character customization but decided against it at the end since I've probably got poor taste in style.
Anywho while I toil through the long intro off screen, my only goal is to find dia- umm I mean, beat Ai Sada of course. What was I gonna say again?
Rules:
-Gen 9 mons only. Only exceptions will be made for mons who have new gen 9 evos like primeape to annihilape (though I'd actually have to evolve them eventually), as well as Paldean Tauros, wooper and clodsire.
-No Mon left unused: I think I'll force myself to rotate between members between each team star base, gym, and titan. One Mon has to go for each as soon as I catch my 7th one.
-Every Mon should have a nickname. Since I'm kinda into Olympic mascots right now, that would probably be what I'll go with theme wise. It doesn't matter how much it fits, I have to pick a name.
As a side challenge I should maybe try to use the pokemon picnic function as much as possible between gyms/team star bases/titans to take breaks.
I wonder what this is based on?
I mentioned in my horizons premiere "vlog" that I kinda want to use sprig as my starter becuz of likos and complained I didn't have a save file ready.
Well, welcome aboard, Magique!
Magique may be a weird name choice, but meowscarada has a magic fantasy vibe with it use of sleight of hand, and so does this lil one. (Anywho my car beast nemonas duck, how surprising)
Hopefully I can learn to use many of paldeas many mons throughout this playthrough.
This was a hard one....
Since no Olympics used pigs as their mascot, I had to make do with a beaver. Bidoof isn't in the game anyway and lechonk fills the same role as Bidoof anyway.
Now speaking of early route...
This is gonna be a bit of a stretch. Tarountula evolves into spidops. Pimpnite used a spidops named Australia once. Hence I looked for the Olympics mascots from the land down under, since the spider was a girl, I chose the female ones name.
I then catch a Pawmi.
I named him after Miga (3rd from left). Sure Migas supposed to be a sea-bear or whatever, but they looks similar enough to me.
(Unfortunately the koraidon cave has no new catchable wild mons...so I'm gonna blast through that real quick and skip to the first arven battle)
Weirdly enough pawmis apparently unable to break through skwovet and goes down despite being level tied. Magique does defeat skwovet though.
Miga later defeats the first trainer with his Static ability activating.
This is a bit of a tricky one to explain.
Shuss design is very, very simple. It's a single line with a ball head. It's kinda like wiglett in a way. Plus I'm not sure where else I'd be able to use the name.
This name was much easier to pick.
Reason: fidough evolve into that dog breed.
Remember the group of 4 mascots from earlier? I used another if their names here.
Another one that's hard to name.
Why did I choose Phryge? Honestly I think it's because shroodle looks like it.
Anywho neither Mukmuk nor phryge will see action right now.
How did Magique tank Tera T shock? It's all in his name. I guess maybe sprig isn't a bad starter for this part and it can be retired after beating klawf... except I won't do that.
Uhh...what's koraidon doing here? I haven't unlock it's riding mode yet.
I chose... poorly.
Oh tera...how much I missed you.
Umm...I'm still unsure of Penny's relationship to peony and rose.
I'm gonna end this here.
I'll wrap up the tutorial next week...and maybe go defeat klawf first?
So I started a new save in Pokemon Violet and was fighting Nemona for the second time, right outside Mesagoza
I had my Wooper out against her Pawmi, and this is where I realized just how terrible her ai is
Either that, or she had no other move, cause she used Thunder Shock 3 TIMES IN A ROW. AGAINST MY GROUND TYPE
Nemona, for someone so good at battling, you need to learn your type advantages.
I jsut caught shiny Pawmi it's my 4th shiny in Pokemon Scarlet Full odds too.
Poco Path could be the best but I'm not sure
I used a lvl 3 shiny, encounter and title power boost. I had to keep resetting if I didn’t get the shiny because I only had enough ingredients to make one sandwich. Didn’t have shiny charm yet.
Total
14 shinies seen 2 kept
I found 2 not on sandwich shinies , a HOUNDSTON!! And Pawmi but I couldn’t keep any, I found around 3 gible and the rest was ZWEILOUS , on the sandwich I finally found my roaring moon I got a zwealous so I couldn’t keep the Pawmi , 3 gibles, houndstone and 7 Zweilous.
Chapter one Part two

She looks outside the door window, and she sees about five or seven people walking down the hall. Ozzy opens the door, “Sorry, this is probably important!” He dashes away into the small group of people. She hurries to her backpack and grabs out her notebook to, well, take notes, and walks out of the door. She arrives at the gym, which is currently being cleared of all the supplies, and sees some people surrounding a man on a wooden stool. She recognizes him, he's the principal. “Welcome students!” he exclaims, “I am Mr. Lopez. Now, I have gathered you all here for one reason. See, this school is still new. You are the first students to come here, but not the last! We need you all to set a good example of this school so it will thrive. When we succeed, there will be a special reward for graduation.” Mia wondered what that meant… “Now, class starts tomorrow, get adjusted to the layout, help yourself to snacks, and get to know your roommates! All students who are currently in possession of pokemon are dismissed.”
Mia watches as a chunk of students leave the room. Surprising to her, she sees Ozzy on the other side of what's left of the people. He has pokeballs on his belt, maybe they are empty? “Students who don't have pokemon will be provided pokemon, but not in the normal way.” Mr Lopez continues. “We have something called the Wild Dome, a large area filled with a small forest, creek, and plains area. Pokemon who are left without homes or need help surviving are kept here, and wild pokemon are also brought here. In the Wild Dome, you are given three pokeballs, and you will have a time limit to catch pokemon. Once the time limit runs out, you have to wait for tomorrow to try again.” He takes away his microphone and hands it to a lady next to the stool. “Alright, everyone, follow me to the Wild Dome”
She arrives at the door, and walks inside. It's.. beautiful. Pokemon roaming around, and the sunlight shining through perfectly though the glass dome. Imedidatly, she sees people running around to find pokemon, and she joins, though at a slower pace. While wandering, she sees two people chasing a capsakid. She shrugs it off.Thats when she sees it, a cyclizar walking to her. It has a limp, and sniffs her hand like a purrloin. She pets it, and is almost.. Wowed. “Hey there.. Did something happen to your leg?” She asks, as if it could respond. “One minute left” the timer says, and she realizes she is running out of time. She backs away a little bit, brings out a pokeball, activates it, and gets ready to throw.
Suddenly, a capsakid falls out the sky, causing the cyclizar to flee. The pokeball she threw lands on the capsakid, and it is caught. She looks to where the capsakid fell, and finds the boys from earlier laughing. They must've thrown the poor thing.. She thinks, picking up the pokeball. SHe looks for the cyclizar, but it is nowhere to be found. She has a few seconds left, and decides to look for the cyclizar. While looking, she backs into a tree, causing an unknown pokemon to jump at her. She instantly grabs the first thing she has on her and throws it, which was… of course, a pokeball. Great.. I caught something and I don't even know what it is.. Her thoughts are interrupted by the timer. “Time's up! Please head to the entrance.”
Later that day, she is getting to know her new capsakid. “Capsa?” She gives it a spicy berry, “Capsa! Kid kid kid!” it gobbles the berry up. “What an energetic little guy.” The nurse says. “Oh, thanks. I think i'll name her Mira.” Mia smiles. “Cute!” the nurse notices the other ball sitting on the counter. “Who's in that one?” Mia looks at the ball. “I dunno.. I caught it by accident, it jumped at me from a tree and spooked me. I should open it..” She grabs the pokeball, a little nervous. Mira stops eating to look up at the ball in her hand. “Ok.. come on out!” she lets it out, and…. I'm a rookidee. Mia nervously laughs. “Ohh, what a cutie!” The nurse laughs. “Haha.. you scared me didn't you?” She scratches the chin of the rookidee. “Dee~!” it chirps. “Ill call you.. Dusk.”
She heads to her dorm, holding Mira and with Dusk on her shoulder. Ozzy is already there holding a… pikachu? “Look who I got!” he exclaims, rushing to her, spooking Mia and making Dusk jump. “His name is Super Thunder King The Fourth, King for short, and he is a pawmi!” “Pawmi!” The pawmi says, as if to announce itself with Ozzy. “Caspa!” Pawmi!” Mira and King each jump out of their trainers hands and chase each other, while Dusk flies to the top of the lamp on the desk to watch. “What pokemon did you catch?” Ozzy asks with stars in his eyes. “Uhhhhh…" she walks over to her bed, with Ozzy following, and sits down. “Oh sorry, did I make you nervous? Mom says I do that alot.” He puts his hand on the back of his head with a sincere smile. “N-no, it's fine… And, about my pokemon. The capsakid is Mira, and the rookidee is Dusk.” SHe points to each, Mira hiding from King under the desk while snickering, and Dusk sleeping of the lamp. “We should get to bed. It's a big day tomorrow.” “We should.. King, return!” he holds out Kings pokeball to return it. “Night!” He climbs up the bunk to sleep. Mia returns Dusk and Mira, and turns off the lamp. Maybe things wont be so bad..
Well it might still be not Christmas for some of you yet (it isn't for me yet either)... But oh well!
Here's a winter themed Pawmi I made for Christmas!
Hope you like it
Lazy background.
Have a headache, so i don't care to make a background.
Pawmi and Pikachu both show similarities! Pawmi is non other than second Pikachu!
Quaxly: Its an ugly duck with a bad hairstyle. I dont like it. 3/10
Fuecoco: I dont like this one either, but its better than Quaxly 4/10
Sprigatito: It's a cute cat, and the starter I plan to pick, but It doesnt amaze me. I'll just say it now, this generation has the worst starter trio so far. 6/10
Koraidon: This pokemon has too much going on. 5/10
Miraidon: This one is very cool and definitely my favorite Gen 9 pokemon right now. 8/10
Pawmi: It honestly just looks like a mouse with Charizard's color scheme. I'm guessing this one will be the Pikachu clone. 5/10
Lechonk: This one is so atrocious, it doesnt get a reasoning. -32/10
Smoliv: I have a feeling this one is going to be like Lechonk, but I like this one more 5/10
