Normal type

[I haven't drawn in a while] This dapper mealworm inspired pokemon doesn't have a 3rd evo yet, its just a simple thing i just thought of just now

It is a normal/bug type

It's a very social bug

They follow each other and share food and berries with their fellow mootworms, it evolves into mootarva they laze around in packs until they evolve, it also has a bow tie :D

(Mealworms are not social so i decided to make it a social bug as a joke)

[The other side is a old mewtwo i drew when i was 10]

So I was thinking about Normal type and realized its almost completely useless so my fix for the issue

Weird Type would be an inverted Normal Type

Weak to Ghost

Fighting Has No Effect on it (And vice versa)

Weak to Normal

With Normal also being weak to Weird

So ive been doing some thinking and ive seen that there are some existing pokemon who would match the unused type combos as of generation 9. so here they are:

Bug-Dragon - Armaldo (if it wasnt a fossil) and Slither Wing

Normal-Steel - Klink line

Normal-Rock - the most popular (and logical) choice is lycanroc

Normal-Ice - Cubchoo, Eiscue,Vanilite

Normal-Bug - Tarountula

Ground-Fairy - i dont really know for this but ive seen Phanpy maybe?

Fire-Fairy - this is hard maybe Delphox??? i dont agree with it bc its a witch and literally has psychic powers but i have no other ideas

Rock-Ghost - Sableye i mean, it lives in a cave which is made of ROCK it has ROCKS for eyes and when it mega evolves, it cuddles a giant ROCK. Also, Runerigus, greavard etc. (gamefreak are allergic to this typing it couldve been put on so many pokemon but no)

Ice-Poison - another hard one; the only one i saw was Hisuian sneasel and sneasler but even theyre a bit of a stretch

As of Scarlet and Violet, there are 9 unused type combos. These are:

Bug/Normal

Ice/Poison

Rock/Ghost

Ground/Fairy

Normal/Steel

Normal/Ice

Fire/Fairy

Bug/Dragon

Normal/Rock

In this post, I'll spitball ideas for a potential Bug/Normal type.

SnakeFlye

As the name suggests, this Pokemon is based on the Snakefly. Not the most original name, I know, but Pokemon has had some stinkers even recently (i'm looking at you Flamigo).

This Pokemon will have a long, slender, snakelike body, with wings all down the back of it. Big bug eyes, like Butterfree, with a stinger at the end, similar to Beedrill.

Any other features can be added as you wish, if you choose to draw it

Last Time on Pokémon Typers

A month ago, I was just Beckett, 20 years old, single, and trying to make it into show business at Pokéstar Studios, but then something hit me in the back of the neck. I slammed my head on a camera and got a concussion. I missed my audition and my chance at stardom. But it is not all bad. I still have my old job, everything. I do odd jobs around my hometown of Lacunosa Town.

One day, I heard a knock on my door and checked on who it was. It was two women. One looks young, with long, curly strawberry blonde hair and fair skin. The other was older, with straight black hair and an outfit that made her look like a bounty hunter.

Beckett: "Y-yes."

Young Lady: "Good day, Sir. My name is Lena, and this is my...associate, Akari."

Beckett: "Do you need any..."

Lena was staring at me. It was getting somewhat creepy.

Lena: "There is no mistaking it. You are a Typer."

Beckett: "Shush Shush Shush! Please don't say it so loud. You want the neighbors to hear. How did you...?"

Lena: "It is a talent of mine that has been passed down in my family in Orre. I can see unique auras, and you have the sickening green one.

Akari went up to me and lifted my head with her hand.

Akari: "Mistress, look. The mark of the Bug Type is on his neck."

Beckett (Slapping Akari's hand away): "H-hey! That is rude."

Akari glared at me with violent intent.

Lena: "You will have to excuse her. She can be a bit blunt. I will need you to come with us."

Beckett: "What for?"

Lena: "I am trying to find all The Typers before anyone else does."

Beckett: "I was perfectly fine until you found me. Now, I will have to ask you to leave."

Before I could shut the door completely, Akari stopped with her foot.

Lena: "Sigh...I knew my first one would be difficult. Akari..."

Akari: "As you wish, Mistress."

Akari pushed the door away and grabbed me by my shirt. She dragged me outside and threw me on the ground.

???? Akari wants to battle!

• Beckett used Punch = 1 HP of Damage.

Akari: "Psh."

Beckett: "Eep!"

• Akari used Attack Mode: Unco Cutter = 20 HP of Damage.

Beckett: "Eaaaah!"

• Beckett Fainted.

???? Akari Wins and Bug Typer Beckett Blacked out

I woke up in a strange place after a big "Bong" sound. It looks nice. A clean bed, a gorgeous bathroom, and a television. I could get used to this. I sat on the bed and thought, where did Akari and Lena go?

Beckett: "Did they bring... me.... here?

"BONG!"

Beckett: "Oh my...!"

I immediately slammed against the wall and started banging rapidly until the room shattered. I was engulfed in a bright light and fell on the ground of my old street. After turning around, I saw a bright bronze PokéBall broken and short-circuiting.

Lena: "Shoot! So close."

Beckett: "Ahee! Iwaaa! D- Did you use a PokéBall on me, A Human? What the Houndoom!?"

Akari (Standing before Lena): "Stand back, Mistress. He is very agitated."

Beckett: "Atipapah! Of course, I am agitated. You sickos just shoved me into a PokéBall like I was a mangy old Patrat."

Lena: "I am sorry, but you would be safer with us."

Beckett: "I was already safe!"

Akari stepped forward.

Beckett: "So, you are a Typer, too."

Akari: "Indeed, I am The Normal Typer."

Beckett: "That means you have the same limits as I do. One Attack. One Status Move. One Ability and you can only use one at a time and have a cooldown. Just like me.

Akari: "Hmph."

Normal Typer Akari wants to battle!

• Beckett used Attack Mode: Threatening Wing = 10 HP of Damage.

• Akari used Attack Mode: Unco Cutter = She Flinched.

• Beckett used Kick= 2 HP of Damage.

• Lena used X Attack on Akari.

Beckett: "Hey! That's cheating. I'm going to bop you so hard."

• Beckett used...

• Akari used Attack Mode: Unco Cutter- Quick Attack Variation = 25 HP of Damage.

• Beckett gave up.

Normal Typer Akari wins, and Bug Typer Beckett loses.

I lay on the ground in defeat. Akari stood over me with more of those energy blades of hers.

Beckett: But how?"

Akari: A true Typer can call upon the power of any move of their type to modify their primary moves. Sure, it has a longer cooldown, but the results are staggering."

Lena (Walking up to Beckett): "We went on the wrong foot, but if you can come with us, I can show you why we should not be enemies."

Akari: "Besides...we have an audience. So, your secret is already out."

I looked around, and she was right. I finally have an audience, but it is for the wrong reason. I have heard that those in the upper class are looking for Typers like me. They even offered a big reward and Pokémon for any information. I can't live here anymore.

Beckett: "Hehe. Bravo. It's time for me to...Bug Out."

Akari went up to grab my shoulder, and I used my Ability Mode: Skin Crawl. Immediately, she was set upon by tiny mites. Akari let go, and I made my exit. I ran past the onlookers; I needed to get out of there. It's a good thing I have my wallet with me.

ModeDex:

Attack Mode: Unco Cutter- The User, Akari, generates energy blades to slash her opponents. This move's power will be increased by 50% if the user has less than or equal to ⅓ of her maximum HP remaining. (Unco is another word for Mega, Hyper, Ultra, or Giga.)

1. Quick Attack Variation- Unco Cutter gains a priority of +1. (The Concept of Variations was something I made up on the spot. Since all Typers will have one Primary Attack and Status Moves, I need something to make them more interesting after seeing them multiple times. I was initially going to go the Anime route and make crazy variations of the same moves. But since Typers embody their respective types, tapping into the effects of other moves makes sense and sounds fun.)

Attack Mode: Threatening Wing- The User, Beckett, manifests terrifying wings and flies straight at his opponents. Non-Flying Types will have a 25% chance of Flinching. This move is super effective on Flying types. (This move comes from how some butterflies and moths have scary-looking wings to deter predators.)

Ability Mode: Skin Crawl- Contact with Beckett, with this ability active, may cause the foe to be Infested. (This was originally going to be Flea Bag, but I changed it to be based on the phrase "making my skin crawl.")

So, I was thinking of adding a Normal type to my S/V team, the reason being to help me out with Ryme, Tulip, and Hassel. But the only caveat is when I'm exp grinding, I have an extra Pokemon to grind.

Should I add one?

And if so, which?

(Must know a dark/ghost move)

I was thinking of doing the hard mode of ogre oustin for a shiny munchlax so I can add it to my team.

Which begs the question, are normal types recommended for a playthrough, or are they a waste of time for grinding?
