In the opening featuring Iris, Marnie, and Paul, I think it is possible for them to foreshadow into battling for a spot in the Masters 8 or train with Ash depending on how the battle between Ash and Raihan in episode 109 turns out.

After seeing the new opening, we saw World Coronation Series competitors Iris and Marnie. Could it be possible for them to return especially in another World Coronation Series battle? Maybe we’ll see more on their Pokémon and growth.

Heard from sources that Marnie and her brother Spikemuth Gym Leader Piers will debut in February. It is possible Marnie will be Ash next opponent in the Pokémon World Coronation Series Ultra Class battle since she’s a rival in the game you know. Wonder what anime team she would have.
