Ok, I've rested up, changed a few moves around, time for round 2. (I did lose friendship though, rip)

This time, I let goathead be the lead for rika as opposed to sprig. She demolishes whiscash with horn leech and camerupts with eq. Pepper tags in to bypass sturdy donphan, then sprig stops dugtrio from setting up sand by outrunning it and flower tricking. Clod protects turn 1 again, but sprig deletes it the next turn anyway.

Pepper once again toasts poppy's copperajah and corviknight, and also bronzong. In fact, Pepper burned through all of Poppy's mons with flamethrower...until tinkaton lands 2 stone misses to defeat him. Shroom barely lives a gigaton hammer before close combat defeats tinkaton.

For Larry, I lead with apple and defeat tropis with fly. I sausage finger fly after apple eats an altaria ice beam and finish it off with sucker punch. I sack bamboo off to have staraptor meet the same fate (and also tank intimidate).

I attempt to read an oncoming flying move by oricorio by tera ing shroom but teeter dance+revelation dance fails to defeat it, and apple is defested by an attempt to dragon pulse ko. I revive the tiny dragon to stall out one turn of confusion caused by revelation dance on sprig, who defeats it with night slashes.

By reviving my apple, when pepper and goathesd get demolished by brave bird and sprig to close combat, the recoil of the former allows me to scrape a win. I have items, I should totally try to use then more

Sprig deletes noivern, and then tags in for apple against dragalge (who resists play rough), but apple gets poisoned after sash kicks in and goes down, so shroom had to rock tomb away the sea dragon. Sprig then demolishes flapple and haxorus.

Sprig tera normals to eat icicle crash from bax after play rough doesn't one shot, and he finishes the dragon with another.

I lead with bamboo as geeta sends out espathra and 2hko witj foil play.(wait, what's the attack stat of espathra? Base 60? How did that work?)

I swap to Apple on gogoat, but bulk up stops his fly from ohkoing and he's defeated by zen headbutt, but Peppers flamethrower gets the Revenge ko.

Sprig deletes veluza, pepper roasts avalugg, and stays in on glimmora to bullet seed.

Glimmora proved too fast for pepper and shroom, both getting smacked by sludge wave, but glimmora was no match for sprigs flower trick. (Before this I took a quick picnic to try and regain friendship with my embittered team, and used all my flags).

The friendship gamble proved a success, as when bamboo giga drained lycanroc, they wished to be praised, and when they were withdrawn for goathead to deal with pawmot (which she did), they did great. (Yay!)

Sprig comes in to deal with goodra via play rough but its left on 1hp. Night slash finishes it off, and then his low kick to orthworm...proved insufficient (and he was defeated by iron tail), though Peppers flamethrower did ko it.

Quaquvals ice spinner made quick work of goathead, but I get the last laugh by apples sash and grav apple koes.

Alright, let's do this one more time. (I'm gonna do normal only Galar for the next one so I don't burn out...another idea came to mind)

Cutscene skip inconsistency again...turning on the feature has been a mistake, hopefully gen 10 fixes it if it does get implemented (or Z-A).

Hilariously, bamboo fails to land Ruination on the hostile glimmora here, they're taking care of the stretch up to the first research station. Nemonas lycanroc ends up doing all the work.

Shroom took over part of the next stretch briefly before pepper tagged in. (Also fun fact: pepper has the gourmet mark. Idk how he got it but he somehow did, idk why the title was disabled. I later found out apple also got it, must have fed them plenty of sandwiches...)

Apple deletes great tusk since dandy's in retirement. He did get fly and I needed flying coverage. (Still wonder why great tusk is small though), and he follows the group to the zero lab.

Apple may also dubiously be the highest levelled I've gotten a mon before post game. By the time I hit the lab, he's already at level 81, and he flattens another great tusk with fly with nemonas lycanroc helping, along with a brute bonnet with help from penny's umbreon (as well as grav apple) and flutter mane with arvens mabosstiff (though he has taken out flutter manes on his own).

Alright, now for ai sada.

Apple is my lead, and he downs slither wing with fly. He tanks an ice punch from scream tail, lands a grav apple, then finishes scream tail off with sucker punch. He dodges a shadow ball from flutter mane and defeats it with 2 sucker punches. I heal when sandy shocks comes in as apple tanks a power gem and flash cannon,and his grav apple Wrecks sandy shocks. Apple tanks a sucker punch from brute bonnet as he takes flight, and slams it into sucker punch range.

Apple sucker punches roaring moon and as I try to set him up for a ko, he gets deleted. That's 5 paradox Pokémon he has fought down. 5!

I send in bamboo, and use payback 3 times to win, and that's it! I've beaten the game witj only grass types.

Final thoughts as i do the koraidon mirror off screen:

Wow, this was tough. Grass havjng many weaknesses made it hard, and there were so many times a run could have ended, katy, atticus, larry e4...the fact that i managed to get to area zero is nothing short of a miracle. Scovillain and flapple proved to be pretty strong, and gogoat once again proves why it's one of the best of kalos. That said, I'm not gonna do anymore mono grass runs anytime soon, too many counters, too many weaknesses etc.

Now about my next playthrough idea... I'm want to see if I can best pokemon sword...with non galarian pokemon. That's it. I genuinely want flexibility back after using this team, and i do want to go back to sword, and came up with the idea under the logic that "I've done a full Galar mons only team, why not do the inverse?" Though I need a break from pokemon for a bit, so maybe not so soon...

Ok, time for my poppy rematch.

Good news: Whizbang got 3 layers of spikes up. Bad news: I forgot to pack rapid spin on phanphan. That said rocks didn't seem to slow my roll, Phanphan does ko copperajah 1 hit witj eq (surprising considering...copperajah is pretty defensively sound), and amphy deletes corviknight once more.

Gojira decimates magnezone and bronzong (the former witj spikes support, confirming the latter has levitate) before tagging out for phanphan for tinkaton.

Phanphan tanks the giant hammer and finishes tinkaton off with eq. Even rocks couldn't help tinkaton crush her.

For Larry I decide to try something different...and very, very, "pimpnite would do this. "...and sausage finger spikes in front of a mono flying team on whizbang. Oops.

Power herb solar beam: denied! (Ice fang miss didn't hurt that bad anyway because of the sand).

Because I knew staraptor had intimidate I did this, and brave bird recoil helped hbox hyper Voice ko it. She also deleted the altaria that came next. I sack her off to get sand chip, then send in phanphan to set up d curl+rollout.

The sand runs out as oricorio is defeated by rollout attack 2, but phanphan is injured...and interestingly the oncoming flamigo goes for cc to take her down, before amphy electrocutes the flamingo witj tera discharge. And we're right back where we fell. Let's see if I can actually beat hassel this time.

Gojira deletes noivern after whizbang fails to get all minimizes up, and barely stands after taking on and defeating dragalge witj sand chip. Phanphan is only slightly better after defeating haxorus, and she's defeated by seed bomb from flapple, but Gyro kos it soon after.

I sack Gyro for some sand damage to take place on baxcalibur, and gojira also falls trying to get ice fangs up.

Hbox comes in clutch once again, as the damage dealt earlier was enough for d gleams to defeat bax. It was at least a well fought battle from both sides, if it were a complete sweep that wouldn't be as satisfying. And remember, I'm doing this because johto mons are infamously amd supposedly weaker than most gens. (If I can't beat geeta I'm gonna be so embarrassed).

It was at this moment, whizbang wished, he was hisuan. (He was defeated and gojira had to crunch ko, before falling to avalugg).

Phanphan was blessed with arceus luck, getting a burn and flinch on avalugg before koing it. Veluza proved hard, taking down Gyro witj ice fang before amphy defeated it.

Because none of hboxs moves could punch through this powered up King, I had to tera. It helped her eat an iron head but she got sliced in half by kowtwo cleave crit.

Phan managed to burn gogoat witj fire fang and this allowed her to eventually defeat the mount pokemon with 1 max potion.

Oh arceus, glimmers managed to defeat phanphan with earth power and tera blast rock, and ampjy barely tanked an earth powered to win. Maybe ai sada is gonna be more problematic than I think....let's see how well I fare against Nemona first.

(One chansey outbreak farm session later....)

Had gojira and whiz caught up to speed, now I'm ready to fight nemona at full power.

Whiz managed to get 3 layers of spikes negore fainting to drill run, and phanphan was able to defeat lycanroc soon after. Gojira handles Goodra barely and get freeze hax+sand ko, but is deleted by pawmot, who in turn was defeated by phanphan, who also barely defeats dudunsparce.

Hbox teras water and defeats orthworm in 2 hits. Should have set up throat spray with hyper Voice but whatever...though I did use it to defeat quaquaval soon after with d gleam.

Alright, let's do this.

The area zero trip had 4 legs, and as per usual I swap the lead mon for each.

The 1st leg (soon after descent up to glimmora, handled by Gyro though she couldn't defeat

glimmora, lycanroc had to help her do that), leg 2 (up to scream tail, handled by...admitedly poor choice of amphy, had to blast my tera and fry penny's umbreon via discharge because no tbolt, scream tail also oddly tried to psychic fangs umbreon),leg 3 (up to great tusk rematch. Handled by phanphan.)

Wow tusk is small, and at least this time mabosstiff didn't get koed. (Anywho, leg 4 was handled by phanphan as well as i forgot to switch, and the descebt to the zero lab was handled by whizbang, gojira and hbox (very briefly))

Me attempting to test penny's theory of comparing the glows of tera and the area zero crystals. (Also I have inf tera? I could tera for every battle here in the cave, and because no dlc I don't have terapagos blessing giving permanent inf tera either)

I unwisely take gojira against a tusk, but nemonas lycanroc had sand rush activated, and ice fang gets a freeze hax.

Brute bonnet...well it got defeated by sand, but it got a spore off because of its supposed amoonguss relations. Some things never change.

He tried to warn us...(anywho crunch+defense drop+rock slide after that-> gone) Now for the final battle.

Whizbang gets up all 3 layers of spikes. 2 layers of t spikes, and a liquidation. Ofc, he still gets koed, but his job is done, and Gyro demolishes slither wing with acrobatics.

Hbox duels her "ancestor", and via her throat spray proves she is superior. Sandy Shocks does delete her, but the coast is clear for gojira to enter, as the sand weakens a otherwise deadly earth power for an ice fang ko, and it also helps him defeat brute bonnet, who would otherwise easily delete him. Not even flutter manes t bolt could stop him.

Despite a max potion, gojira is defeated by roaring moon, and phanphan lands the finishing blow, ending the run.

Final thoughts:

Well, this was fun. I've never used some of these mons before, and after this, I'm happy to say I'm glad I gave them a shot. Donphan and Ampharos were some of my favs to use, and if I do get legends za I'm looking forward to using ampharos witj it's mega. That's all from me. I think I'll probably do something else, maybe in Galar or let's go perhaps, or go back to ssb for a bit maybe. See you guys around!

Well, this is it.

If pokemon were smart, they'd release this as a pseudo guidebook to paradoxes IRL for older fans to deal with.

Coals mirror match goes relatively well, with Mabostiff able to get 2 attack drops to boot (intimidate+play rough luck)

Coals fine now. Have you seen them fight? Sure they're not on even terms with me yet but still.

This was just me testing if the roaring moon cave was available. It is.

I didn't expect to get to here that fast by fighting e everything.

In all honesty, I'm not sure if coal has to go home after I beat ai Sada. I hope they get to stay.

Coal and nemonas lycanroc were both physical attackers so it took a while to beat the great tusk back.

Amoonguss this is not.

I headcanon I sent some of my earlier party members (like Millie the Spidops or Vinicius the Annihilape) to help them.

Strong looking one indeed. (Ok I'll stop joking about how OP flutter mane is, and it went down medium hard-brute bonnet got ohkoed while great tusk proved problematic)

Now, time for the final battle.

But coal has a new trick up their sleeve.

Yep. It's proto boost time.

Slither wing tanks ice spinner and goes for lunge, but falls to a tera eq.

Scream tail falls to tera eq and ice spinner doesn't one shot brute bonnet as coal is felled by a giga drain.

Nini misses a hurricane and gets KOed by sucker punch, but magiques u turn finally gets rid of the mushroom.

I pivot into wenlock in sandy shocks, whose power gems can't break the steel types defenses.

Magique slices flutter mane into shreds and I decided to have Miga take on roaring moon. 1 close combat was all it took. Whoa.

I guess that's the end of the playthrough, of course I'd win with items on and no restrictions, but I've never used some of the mons on throughout this series before. I think great tusk may have overthrown scream tail as my favorite paradox now, and pawmot has been a MVP.

(Also fun fact I used a dire hit in am attempt to try and get past the other koraidons high defense but it failed...not even a crit at the wrong moment. Well then)

Welp, we've arrived at the endgame. Can we make it to the end? Let's find out!

Unfortunately I don't think I can drop a Draco on the e4 or area zero. I'm not too keen on changing my team so late now.

I decide to lead wenlock into Rikas ground team. Hopefully earth eater and wenlocks high defense can come in clutch, even without body press.

Anyone who clicks no is likely not a Pokemon fan...or they're a troll.

Wenlocks defensive typing should be handy here....and his first opponent just happened to be whiscash. It misses a blizzard, them freeze haxes wenlock with another, prompting a full restore from me.

Earth eater saves wenlock from earth power and 4 eqs beat whiscash.

I swap to coal on camerupt as wenlock felt way too passive, and they easily ohko an oncoming camerupt.

Coal then smashes through their descendent with 2 ice spinner, and a dugtrio suffers the same fate (with only 1).

I hope this is enough to defeat clod, even if it pains me to see it. Clod blocks it with protect,then eats one before getting toxic off. It protects a CC Coal pulled out of desperation, but the next one finishes it off.

After coals stellar performance, I decided to lead them into Poppy.

Becuz copperajah is so tanky, I tera ground to ko it.

Coal falls to body press corviknight because I ran out of CCs and attempted to disrespect KO with rapid spin because ice spinner won't do anything. Migas quick attacks finish it off though.

Admittedly because I really wanted I click double shock on bronzong, who beats Miga with zen headbutt, but Magique finished the bell off. He also barely manages to beat down magnezone.

I decide to let Sukki tackles tinkaton,and click shadow ball right away, as I don't want any hammer...and get a special defense drop as Sukki gets turned into ostrich pie.

I decide to set up Nini with lumina crash..and I learn it has stone miss.

It lived a discharge and landed a stone miss that Nini barely survives, and uses volt switch to beat tinkaton.

Larry's a flying guy, so there's one thing I really wanted to do.

Uhh....pretend none of those happened? (Let's see where I get punted too...oh before Poppy.)

This time I lead with Miga, who's CC smokes copperajah in 1 hit.

Coal learns that bronzong has levitate, so I swap them out...into Miga for some reason. Then I swap into wenlock, who can deal with levitaters.

Wenlock then exchanges eqs with bronzong and comes out on top. He then applies the same strategy on corviknight but ran out of eqs to do so before falling. Coal then uses it to trade eqs with corviknights brave bird as the latter takes itself out.

Coal barely lives magnezones special moves and finishes it off with rapid spin and eq. Since they and Miga are so weakened, I decided to try and use Sukki against tinkaton again.

Instead of shadow ball, I decided to set up Sukki with hyper voice throat spray...but she barely tickled tinkaton and gets defeated again. Nini then beats tinkaton in the same way as before the crash.

It was at this moment I decided to check what ai sadas levels were, oh my goodness, that's high. Area zero hopefully should give my team enough exp to get close to matching it.

Anywho, now to actually fight Larry. Miga has regained double shock. Which is kinda my whole strategy for taking out as many mons as possible.

Seriously, I'm pretty sure tropius is supposed to be neutral, and this put in quick attack range. I accidentally mash quick attack on a fresh staraptor who intimidated Miga, but a double shock does beat it. Miga is then defeated by altaria becuz double shock+cc wasn't enough.

Coal manages to use ice spinner to beat altaria and heavily chip oricorio, the latter of which beat them due to speed advantage.

Sukki manages to get a lumina crash off in flamigo before going down, allowing Nini to prove he's the superior bird.

For hassel I let Sukki lead, since I'm relying on her, coal and Magique to hit dragons. I set her up with hyper voice on his noiverm and...wait I forgot I deleted d gleam from her. Oops!

Magiques play rough has to be a substitute, and then I swap into coal to tackle dragalge with EQ. Coal then decinates flapple with ice spinner and 2 hits haxorus.

Coal obviously gets dropped by icicle crash, so I go into wenlock, assuming that since Bax is physical, he should be able to tank a bunch of stuff. He survives 2 brick breaks to land 2 tera iron heads. Magiques play rough than defeats bax, pulling a hat trick in a very literal way.

Hassel gave me such problems back there. Can my mismatched team even beat Geeta?

Magique easily slices through espathra, then I send sukki in next to set up hyper voice on Gogoat, and she finally defeats something here with 2 lumina crashes.

I'll let you guess what's the outcome.

Nini gets turned into a birdcicle after trading a discharge with Veluzas ice fang, so Miga has to finish it off with quick attack. Miga then CCs avalugg along with coal to beat it, mostly because avaluggs defense stat...

Yeah 1 CC isn't enough.

Coal must have had some mishap with glimmora in area zero before they escaped, as this one was taken out with a powerful eq...with extreme prejudice.

Now for the final nemona battle, and a test to see if my team can actually go into area zero.

Magique easily shreds lycanroc with flower trick, but they're apparently on even levels..

Yikes.

Coals lucky pawmot used CC to lower it's defenses, to ko with eq. They later tried to ice spinner goodra but get defeated in the process. Wenlock manages to avenge them with iron head.

Miga doesn't live this and quick attack is starting to fail to do much of substance as he gets defeated.. Ninis volt switch had to do the finishing blow. Sukki then barely manages to defeat Dudunsparce.

Nini gets a quick claw off against quaquaval.

Discharge had to 2 hit ko it, but Nini till beat it with 2 quick claw discharges still. Back to back! That was close too!

One last super sandwich for the road. I hope coal doesn't have any bad memories of area zero, like why else would they break out of there.

I feel more scrappy or guts.

Well nemonas lycanroc outsped coal before they could even shake the ground.

Now that you think about it, scream tail is the least threatening paradox. Period.

Due to low switch power, I think I'm gonna have to forfeit the perfect 10 and try and beat it at 11 eps instead. I do have ideas for the next playthrough though...
