Heres what you need to know: Aloha was one region| Paldea was connected by a long, thick area of land to Unova
Every gimmick is fake. You read it right, it's fake. At least in some dimensions. You see, in the Pokemon world there are many dimensions, and if gimmicks are real in that dimension varies on how Pokemon created them. Now, enough talking about that, lets jump straight into the Regions first.:
REGIONS:
The Regions were all connected at some point in Pokemon History. Let's call this region "X". The region "X" had been the Pokemon version of Pangea. The region was vast, stretching as far as the eye could see. In all directions, Pokemon were seen, fighting, breeding, living, etc. This was a time of peace. Of course, Humans were alive at this time, but were deathly afraid of Pokemon and their horrors. Very few of these Humans had trained Pokemon, and very few had battled with them. This was a time where Pokemon were the highest in Dominance. Region "X" was in peace for the first time, and would soon become the last time. One day, Arceus created the Creation Trio. When Arceus did, he created multiple Dimensions. The reasons for him creating so many is hard to depict, but it may be because he wanted to "toy with them". As time progressed, Arceus created more Pokemon and expanded the world and space, then Powerful pokemon formed. He had created these pokemon to watch certain areas of Region "X". These Pokemon are now known as: Rayquaza, Terapagos, The True Dragon(Kyurem, Reshiram, Zekrom), Zygarde, Yveltal,Xerneas, Necrozma, Lunala, Solgaleo, Eternatus, and Mew. After Arceus created these Pokemon, he gifted them all incredible power(Mega, Gmax, Z-Move,Terra, etc). Then, one day a large meteorite containing ungodly amounts of power. This power was a tiny sample of Arceus(0. zero followed by 40 zeros and a single one at the end) that caught the attention of the "Gifted Pokemon". Then, it hit Paldea with an explosion so large, it doesn't even mean anything any more. The power was scattered around everywhere, and the Regions Split away. Aloha split into islands, and Paldea split with Unova. The once single, large Region "X" had been split up into tiny fragments of its true power. This, of course, wasn't the only thing to happen, which leads me to the next chapter.
Gimmicks, The fake power of a God.:
When the meteorite hit Region "X", its power spread like a virus. The quickest to spread was the terastallize gimmick. The reason was because it had created crystals that were engulfed in what is now Area:Zero. Pokemon started messing with them, then became Terra's. Certain Pokemon developed Domains that are now called Terra Raids. Pokemon terastallized in random. Terapagos had used a lot of its power(about 97%) to compress terras. In regions like Hoenn and Kalos, they reached a large amount also. The Meteorite had formed stones that contained large amounts of power, and Pokemon had ate them. Since the earliest form of Pokemon was Mew, new Pokemon were Popping up at a fairly fast pace. These new Pokemon had eaten the power-embodied stones, and over time had gained the ability to react to them. This was modern day Mega Evolution. At a fairly equal point of time, Z-Moves were being made. When the energy hit Aloha, it had spread and caused the region to break up even more. The reason why Aloha had a longer break up is a story I'll mention in a later post. The Z-Crystals were being formed and Pokemon reacted when exposed to them. They gained high power and could deal a lot of damage. Then, came Galar. The Galar issue is highly more confusing then the others because I don't know why every Galar Pokemon except Zacian and Zamazenta could Dynamax/ Gmax. So, take this part with a Large grain of Salt. When the Pokemon of Galar got exposed to the energy, they started growing bigger and stronger as the Micrometeorite started raining down on earth. The Micrometeorite formed together to create Max Dens and certain Pokemon engaged with them early on, which is why Galar Pokemon can D-Max. Certain Pokemon got exposed to the point where they formed Gmaxs. The reason I have for why Zacian and Zamazenta can't Dynamax/ Gmax is most likely because they weren't exposed to the Dens, unlike Pokemon like Venusaur and Cinderace.
Conclusion-
For how the "Gifted Pokemon" responded to the Gimmicks is something of a mystery, but I can infer that certain Pokemon in the "Gifted Pokemon" must have reacted poorly since some may have been sealed/ locked away based on current Pokemon Lore.
I'll make a post on that on a later date.

Because if someday they become official, i would be dissapointed that they don't look the way i've designed them. This is what literally happened with the new megas. Thank god i never drawn a fanmade mega before.

Me and a friend of mine have been working on making a region and are having trouble coming up with an unique regional phenomenon. We want it to feature the same form change that Mega Evolution and Gigantamax have, but aren't sure how the technical stuff (stats, types, moves, etc.) should work with the gimmick. Can you help us come up with some ideas?
Malbatross: The Storm Chaser Pokemon
Malbatrossity: The Ominous Pokemon
Type: Dark-Flying
Malbatross Abiility: Unnerve
Malbatrossity Ability: Drizzle
Malbatross Game 1 Dex Entry: Young Malbatross are known to be extremely curious, always chasing storms to learn more about them.
Malbatross Game 2 Dex Entry: When not hunting, Malbatross are known to flock around sprinklers, thinking that they're making rain. Unfortunately, farmers have to chase Malbatross away because they tend to eat crops while playing with the sprinkler.
Malbatrossity Game 1 Dex Entry: Malbatrossity hide in storm clouds, waiting to pass over ships so that they can steal the sailor's food. Braver Malbatrossity instead lurk in shallow waters, waiting for beachgoers to leave their food unattended, so that they can take it.
Malbatrossity Game 2 Dex Entry: While the younger Malbatross will chase after any storm, only major storms can satiate a Malbatrossity. If you see a flock of Malbatrossity hanging around a seemingly innocent cloud, it's best to evacuate the area, as a devastating storm is coming.
Gigantamax Malbatrossity Game 1 Dex Entry: Gigantamax Malbatrossity is such an aerial spectacle that storm clouds chase it, allowing it to bring storms that can level major cities.
Gigantamax Malbatrossity Game 2 Dex Entry: Gigantamax Malbatrossity see large tanker boats as threats, and when these ships pass by, the Malbatrossity assume that the ship is challenging it. To end the conflict, Malbatrossity stir up gigantic waves to crash into the ships.
New Form: Gigantamax Malbatrossity - Malbatrossity becomes so large that it's gravitational pull forms clouds and drags tsunami-sized waves out of the ocean.
Gigantamax Move: G-Max Rogue Wave (Dark Type) - Hits every Pokemon on the field, and confuses targets.
Thoughts?
⚠️ disgusting blood tooth fungi pokemon straight ahead ⚠️
Edit: I put in the evo.
Literary half the pokemon are either gen 1 or gen 8. Plus, there are only 2 POKEMON OUTSIDE OF GEN 1 OR 8. ALSO 2 DIFFERENT POKEMON COULD HAVE GOTTEN A GIGANTAMAX BUT NO, FLAPPLE AND APPLETUN HAD TO HAVE THE EXACT SAME LOOK.

Pretend there's a regional variant of Butterfree like this because it doesn't make sense for a giant butterfly to look like a snake
Poison/Bug type
The poisonous scales from their wings scatter and fall when they fly
Hello people
I would like to apologise for my lack of activity
I have been very busy these last few weeks with school assignments and stuff.
But
I will try to be more active again 👍
Last round:
Contestants had to create an alternate version of an ultra beast of their choice, changing their types
The winner last round was @JustAnotherBeing4 for their Steel/Electric type Blacephalon
The eliminated contestant is currently undecided, as it is a tie. I will go around asking for some more votes on the poll and if that doesn't work I will make a tie breaker.
@Mimikyu006 was also eliminated, unable to meet the deadline.
This round
In the spirit of Pokemon Go adding Gigantamax Pokemon and galar, contestants must take a Gigantamax Pokemon's type and completely change it. For example, gmax Centiskortch becoming an ice type.
Rules
Rounds last 1-2 weeks. Failure to submit before the deadline results in an elimination
Each round will have a vote - 3 for the 3 groups, 1 for the elimination poll, and 1 for the winners poll.
If you have the least amount of votes in the group polls, you will be put into the elimination poll. If you have the least votes in this poll, you will be eliminated. Basically, the most votes win.
Contestants are not allowed to vote for any artwork in the poll. They must vote for the 'Contestants Only' button, a similar case to me.
No NSFW or too triggering artwork
No plagiarism
Please do not edit existing images - it should be drawn from scratch, however references are allowed.
Please stay civil
Feedback is allowed, but please keep it constructive and keep others in mind.
Please do not flood the round posts. It makes it more difficult than it needs to be.
Contestants:
(remember that either @StabbyBoss13 or @MeowCatMultiply will be eliminated)
Spectators:
@darkie the cartoon fan (globalled)
Deadline will be somewhere near the 20th this month
Good luck :)
All pokemon (who have gmax forms) have to be fully evolved to gigantamax.
All but 4, and one was an accident.
There are 3 iconic pokemon who needed them, Pikachu (surprise), Eevee (i see why), and Meowth (it deserves this privilege) but the last one is a bit... less iconic.
Duraludon was given a gmax form, which was cool. it seemed stong enough to be a non-evolving pokemon, but then came archaludon. making duraludon the 4th unevolved pokemon capable of gmax.
3 cute, cuddly, iconic and loved pokemon and a final... less cuddly one.
Thought it'd be cool to point that out.
Why did gamefreak do this? They made a split evolution line for applin and in flapple and appletuns gmax form, you cant tell them apart! What’s even crazier is they did it again with toxtricity! Like why did they do this it makes zero sense!
I dare you to guess which one is Appletun gmax and flapple gmax: (image from serebii)
