The Mythical Melodies wash up on the shore.
Totodile: That's weird. The snow faded away quick!
Braixen: Indeed. It's as if it was never here.
Red: You know what time it is.
Braixen: Let me guess... elimination?
Red: No, there are no eliminations this episode, as it's been a while.
Braixen: *sighs* Well, that's a relief.
Red: Everyone gather.
All the contestants gather together.
Red: Our next contest is a quiz, which I named "Are You Smarter Than an Annoying Fire Crocodile?"
Fuecoco: Hey!
Red: Welcome to the "Are You Smarter Than an Annoying Fire Crocodile?" quiz, where we'll be testing your knowledge of the Pokémon world! One team member of the Mythical Melodies will go against one team member of the Dazzling Defenders. The first team to reach ten points wins!
Red: The first round is Quaquaval vs. Squirtle!
Red: Now, what color is a shiny Espeon?
Quaquaval: *thinks hard, eyes squinted in concentration* It's pink, right?
Squirtle: Nah, I saw those before! They're green!
Red: That's correct, Squirtle! The Dazzling Defenders are on the board with one point!
Current Score: 0 - 1
Red: Alright, next up is Celebi vs. Fuecoco!
Red: What Pokémon was the cause of the Darkest Day?
Celebi: It's Lugia, isn't it?
Fuecoco: *scratches head* I'm pretty sure it was...
Fuecoco's dumb brain comes up with something.
Fuecoco: It was Caterpie!
The Dazzling Defenders give Fuecoco a facepalm.
Red: Both of you are wrong! Eternatus caused the Darkest Day. No points for either team.
Current Score: 0 - 1
Red: Next up, it's Scorbunny vs. Meloetta.
Red: What's the signature move of Pichu, Pika-
Scorbunny: Volt Tackle!
Red: Correct! Another point for the Dazzling Defenders.
Scorbunny: Thank you, brain-boosting headband!
Current Score: 0 - 2
Red: Scorbunny, you were lucky, because the player picker picked you again! You're going against Charizard!
Red: Okay, your question is-
Scorbunny: GOOD AS GOLD!
Charizard: WHAT!?!?
Fuecoco: Did you just predict that question?
Red: But you're right! Gholdengo's signature ability is Good as Gold, which makes it immune to the opponent's stat changes!
Current Score: 0 - 3
Red: Well done, Scorbunny! The picker actually chose you AGAIN!!
Fuecoco: Come on! That picker is rigged!
Red: Urshifu, you're next. Now-
Scorbunny: KUBFU!
Urshifu: Wh-what?
Red: Another point.
Current Score: 0 - 4
Red: Mythical Melodies rejoice, because Floragato has been picked this time for the Dazzling Defenders. Charizard will go against.
Red: Here's your question. In Area Zero, you'll find ancient and futuristic Pokémon, such as Scream Tail and Iron Bundle. What type of Pokémon are these?
Charizard: *mutters * This is a trick question.
Floragato: They're...uh...Pokémon that come from the past and future, obviously.
Red: No, not that. What are they classified as?
Charizard: Paradox Pokémon?
Red: That's correct, Charizard! Good job! A point for the Mythical Melodies.
Current Score: 1 - 4
Red: Okay, let's keep it rolling! Totodile, you're up for the Mythical Melodies. You're facing off with Lilligant from the Dazzling Defenders.
Red: The question is... Tatsugiri enters a Dondozo's mouth because why?
Totodile: *snickers* Because it's a dare?
Red: *rolls eyes* Not exactly.
Lilligant: Because it uses it for defense.
Red: Right again, Dazzling Defenders!
Current Score: 1 - 5
Red: Well, we're on a roll here! Totodile, you're up next again. You're playing against Scorbunny from the Dazzling Defenders.
Red: The question is... What type is Dhelmise?
Scorbunny: Ghost and Grass, but despite its underwater characteristics and power Steel-type attacks, it's not Water and Steel, but a Steel-type move would be powered up by its ability Steelworker. That type comes from it being a possessed ship's anchor and wheel and it has seaweed on it!
Red: Okay, we get it! What matters is that you got it right. So, Scorbunny gets another point for the Dazzling Defenders.
Current Score: 1 - 6
Red: Next is Poipole and Jigglypuff.
Red: What's UB-04 Blade?
Poipole: It's... a...uh...
Poipole: Wow... It's been too long since I've seen an Ultra Beast, but I think I know this!
Poipole: UB-04 Blade has to be... *thinks hard* Oh, I remember! It's a Rock and Steel-type Ultra Beast known as Stakataka!
Red: That's where you're wrong. Stakataka has nothing to do with blades.
Jigglypuff: *giggles* It's actually the Drawn Sword Pokémon, Kartana.
Red: That's right, Jigglypuff! A point for the Dazzling Defenders!
Current Score: 1 - 7
Red: Only three points left until you win! Oh, also forgot to say, whoever answers the question to win gets a Vote Ticket. Next up is Iron Bundle and Regigigas.
Red: Now, who can tell me what Dipplin evolves into?
Iron Bundle: According to my database... (takes a while to search)
Red: Come on, just say it.
Regigigas: It evolves into...uh...
Iron Bundle: Dipplin, the cross-generational evolution of Applin, evolves into Hydrapple after learning the move Dragon Cheer.
Red: Good job, Iron Bundle!
Current Score: 2-7
Red: Regigigas, you were picked again. This time, you're going up against Meloetta from the Mythical Melodies.
Red: Here's your question. What Pokémon is known to always bring victory?
Meloetta: *whispers to herself, trying to recall* The Victory Pokémon, that's right! It's Victini.
Victini: (Extra character requested by DandidooTheXD) Hey!!
Red: Oh yeah, you have a not so big audience. Also, the Mythical Melodies get another point.
Current Score: 3-7
Red: Well, the Mythical Melodies are definitely catching up.
Red: Next up is Deoxys and Sceptile!
Red: Deoxys, your question is: What is Primeape's evolution first discovered in the Paldea region?
Deoxys: *thinks for a moment, then nods confidently* It evolves into Annihilape.
Red: That's correct. Another point for the Melodies.
Current Score: 4-7
Red: The score is tightening up! Now, it's Blaziken going against Sceptile. Why do two contestants in a row always get picked? I swear, I'm using RNG!
Red: Okay, let's go. What is the only Pokémon that has the "Ice Face" ability?
Blaziken: *thinks hard* Ice Face... Ice Face...
Sceptile: It's Glalie, isn't it?
Red: Wrong.
Blaziken: Aw, man. This is a tough one... Uh... I want to say... Cryogonal?
Red: *laughs* Cryogonal is not known for its face. It's actually Eiscue with the "Ice Face" ability. The Pokémon can take a physical attack without taking damage, but its Ice Face breaks, which can be restored with Hail. No points this time.
Floragato: Remember when we ran into one last contest?
Incineroar: Oh, you mean the obstacle course and it started snowing? Yeah, those aren't a threat to me. All I gotta do is burn 'em to a crisp!
Red: Haha, you're on a roll, aren't you, Incineroar? Alright, let's get to the next round. The Mythical Melodies have 4 points and the Dazzling Defenders have 7. The next round is Floragato vs. Urshifu!
Red: Now, what Pokémon was created by researchers to forecast the weather?
Urshifu: *scratches chin thoughtfully* I believe that would be Castform.
Red: That's right, Urshifu! You're totally catching up, Mythical Melodies!
Current Score: 5-7
Red: Next is Scizor and Scorbunny. Who can tell me a move the clears the field hazards?
Scizor: Ah, a classic. It's Defog!
Red: That's right. Another point. One more and you're tied.
Current Score: 6-7
Red: Pawmot and Lucario are next.
Red: What is the tallest Pokémon with the Bug-type?
Pawmot: Golisopod?
Red: *laughs* Not quite. It's actually a Pokémon discovered in the Galar region!
Lucario: Alright... what are some tall Galarian bug Pokémon? Oh, wait! It's Centiskorch, at a length of 9'10"!
Red: That's correct, Lucario! The Mythical Melodies are now tied!
Current Score: 7-7
Red: Blaziken and Fuecoco are next. Tarountula and Nymble evolve into what and what?
Blaziken: *thinks* Tarountula evolves into...
Fuecoco: Oh oh! Nymble evolves into Nymble, with a bit more of a punch!
Red: *laughs* Good one, Fuecoco. But, let's hear from Blaziken.
Blaziken: *thinks* Tarountula evolves into... uh... I don't know that one.
Red: Guess.
Blaziken: Alright, I'll take a shot in the dark. Tarountula evolves into... I think it's called... *squints*... Spiyy.... uh... Spiyy... Spidops? And Nymble evolves into Lokix?
Red: Correct! Tarountula and Nymble evolve into Spidops, the Trap Pokémon, and Lokix, the Grasshopper Pokémon! That's another point, which means you're in the lead!
Current Score: 8-7
Diancie: *sarcastically* Wow, very good, Fuecoco. *sigh* I guess that's why they call it "Are You Smarter Than an Annoying Fire Crocodile?"
Fuecoco: Hey! I'm not that bad.
Red: Next is Blaziken and Diancie.
Diancie: And here's my turn. I'll show you a person who actually thinks.
Red: Alright. What are the Pokémon with the lowest base speed stat?
Diancie: Shuckle, Munchlax, and Pyukumuku, all with a base speed of 5.
Red: Point.
Current Score: 8-8
Fuecoco: I would've never got that!
Diancie: *smirks* I actually have a brain.
Red: Pawmot and Quaquaval are up next. What Pokémon is most commonly found when fishing?
Pawmot: *thinks* I know this one! It's Magikarp!
Red: That's correct, Pawmot! Well done!
Current Score: 8-9
Red: Okay, we're down to the wire! This is it! If the Dazzling Defenders get it correct, they win! Next is Lilligant and Celebi!
Red: Alright, here we go! What are the four OHKO moves?
Celebi: *thinks* Oh, I know this one. They're Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill, and Sheer Cold.
Red: That makes the score 9 to 9 tied. One more point and we have a winner! To earn this point, all team members must hit the buzzer as fast as they can the moment they hear the ding.
Red: Go.
Both teams stare at the other, waiting for the sound.
Fuecoco: *gulp*
Ding!
The teams all hit their buzzer.
Red: Great job! Now let's see... Who was the faster team?
Red: It's the Dazzling Defenders! You guys win the "Are You Smarter Than an Annoying Fire Crocodile?" quiz!
Red: Pawmot, take your Vote Ticket!
Pawmot: Thanks, Red!
Red: This means one of the Mythical Melodies are up for elimination.
Here are the contestants up for elimination:
Meloetta
Typhlosion
Braixen
Charizard
Poipole
Celebi
Iron Bundle
Quaquaval
Deoxys
Totodile
Scizor
Blaziken
Lucario
Urshifu
You have until next Saturday to decide. The Pokémon with the most votes will be eliminated.
Comment to vote! BFIP 6 releases soon.
[Now for a bonus scene.]
Fuecoco: I'm still offended by this title! Oh, wait! Forgot I had this! *He brings out his water gun, which was secretly a rocket launcher.*
Fuecoco: Alright! Now to get this stupid stage wiped off!! Hahahahaha!

I've always been reliant on evolving for most of playthroughs if I'm honest, so what if I couldn't do it? Theres only 1 rule to this: I'm not allowed to see the animation above: I must mash B to stop it. The only eligible mons are either basic stage (like my namesake) or no Evo mons (like Tauros, needed due to me lacking eviolite for a huge portion).
Most of my other rules I use like 1 raid per achievement and 1 Mon per area are probably not going into play this time due to...well, me being stuck with baby mons, I need all the help I can get in terms of exp and who I can use. The only exception being I should try to use everyone at least once.
This was a tougher decision than normal, but I ultimately went with Fuecoco. It has 3 weaknesses compared to sprigatitos 5, and while water is a good defensive typing, quaxly...well...
Yeah those defenses....
I'm using this nickname again because... 🐊.
As for knowing more about him...
...I dunno if +speed nature even matters since it's gonna be basically as slow as Amoonguss the further we go, but alright.
Forget late game, Krool can't outsped sprig! Hopefully his bulk allows him to handle this without unaware.
Yeah...
I wonder if Z-A will change anything about this...
This is a reference to pimpnites battle against a full team of shiny deoxys in bdsp, where he used a spoink named this he got from someone else.
Attack at the cost of special defense? Ok...
Huh, my first playthrough Hoppip (now Jumpluff) is female too, what are the odds.
I already used "whirl" last time, so I decided to try a different transformers helicopter name, and eventually settled on "Blades".
Since Hoppip is a Johto Mon, I'm not sure whether nature would help, and also apparently her ability is chlorophyll . (Krools is blaze and Ziggy piggys is aroma veil btw, I checked)
Finally, I caught a female Pawmi and named the rather generic not a reference to anything "Shockie".
She has a mild nature and her ability is static...and unfortunately she got burned by krools ember. And that's all the encounters I've caught here, so let's move on our first encounter with koraidon.
I know, you were banned from regulation H and feeling sad about it, but you'll be unbanned soon, I promise!
I attempted to feed it a Hoppip leaf but that didn't work. It has to be the sandwich. I was just messing around admittedly, but the fact that the menu teleported to select the sandwich when I talked to koraidon implies they probably anti funny businessed it.
In the cave I caught a Diglett and named her holeymoley(because...mole? Pimpnite used dugtrio with that name for some his setups I think). I tried to see if I can find out about her during the houndoom scripted battle but I could only pick fight and watch Krool retreat to his PokeBall in fear. (Outside the cave, she's revealed to have a Naive Nature, take plenty of siestas and her ability is sand veil instead of arena trap like I hoped. Oh well)
Yeah...of only that plot point wasn't locked until post game, but idk...
Yeah I'd rather not. (Why is miraidon only a thing on the Pokemon Violet timeline?)
Maybe the Paradox Duo should have gotten a slow start retool where they start as this and then transform into their battle forms after a while now...but slow start sucks so maybe that was for the better. (And arven reminds me it shouldn't be fighting in this state...right before Krool defeats his skwovet with ease)
My 6th member is going to be daisy the Psyduck. I was choosing between psyducks bulk or buizels firepower, I decided Psyduck was maybe better.
Also ofc I get a good nature on a Mon I don't think needs it.
After that I caught 2 more mons: Falco the Fletchling (Male, Calm Nature, Somewhat of a clown, ability is big pecks) and Baguette the Fidough (Female, Mild Nature, loves to run, Ability is Own Tempo). They'll join the team rotation for now, most likely replacing holeymoley and blades. (Though I need holeymoley to counter nemonas pawmi->pawmo->pawmot).
Speaking of holeymoley, I wanted to send her out against nemonas tera Pawmi, but accidentally sent out Ziggypiggy, who triggered static while tackling it. I do eventually manage to swap in moley anyway and somehow Pawmi had no answers to a ground type in this phase.
Also you have to fight the team star grunts. No way around it! Krool easily took care of both!
*insert obligatory Geeta is terrible joke pre dlc here* (also usually I go to arven first, this time I'm switching things up)
Why did arven have to be portrayed as a mean person when we first met? I wish I knew. (Anywho I'm sparing you guys the exposition, it's probably very familiar... though the length....sweet Arceus where's the skip cutscene button? I have to mash a like I'm stuck in some SSB characters grab)
Why is masbosstiff censored again? I know there's an in game reason for it, but...it admittedly feels weird when you think about it.
Bananas and smoliv oil really don't mix well... (First time I've failed a sandwich)
I guess that wraps up today's episode.
Also I'm gonna try something my previous playthrough didn't use: having comments choosing my team.
I have 9 mons right now (Zelda the hattena was from a raid) that are sure to increase, so I'll be asking about this at the end of each of these:
Who should I swap out for my next episode and why? (It would affect who I'll take on)
(Pinglist (pls indicate if you want off/on below too)
Kanto - squirtle
Johto - totodile
Hoenn - treecko (but I also rlly like marshtomp)
Sinnoh - piplup

Brian: Ah-ha-ha-ha!
Stewie: You son of a-
Brian: Good morning. Thought I'd help you wake up.
Stewie: [cowers behind Brian] God, why does he look sad?! (Cut to the Fuecoco) He's already destroyed mankind; what else could he want?!

Looks like Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, Koraidon, Miraidon, Ogerpon, and Terapagos got killed by Galeem's light beams and now they're spirits. Somehow I predicted this exact lineup earlier, although I wasn't 100% sure if Pokémon Scarlet and Violet would even get an event.
I was trying to get Sprigatitio ;-;
Btw I'm the same person who pulled Neo Champion Nate and Penny first try xd
I created this poorly made monstrocity while fusing all fire starters..
Try to guess where all of the starters are!
Easy
Charmander
Cyndaquil
Torchic
Tepig
Litten
Medium
Fennekin
Hard
Chimchar
Fuecoco
Today, I made an artwork of the Paldean starter Pokémon. Which Paldean starter Pokémon would you wanna adopt? Sprigatito, Fuecoco, or Quaxly? 🍃🔥💧
(Materials I used are Ohuhu and Super Tips markers, black pen and white Gelly roll pen, and colored pencils.)
