I remember the first time i got this card and i asked myself "why is Chansey basic if they evolve from Happiny" and then i realised it was because Happiny is a baby Pokémon *facepalm*.

Welcome to Pokemon ramble, where i talk about something quite simple and easy to understand and i tell you nothing more, just making it kinda complicated.
This time, i will talk about Chansey’s evolution line and the generations of release.
So most pokemon got pre-evolutions in Generation 2, but Chansey got an evolution. Now gaining evolutions was not only for Chansey, because other pokemon got evolutions. But those pokemon didnt get pre-evolutions in later gens.
In Generation 4, lots of pokemon gained evolutions, but Chansey got a pre-evolution, some other pokemon gained pre-evolutions but those Pokémon didn’t have evolutions given to them.
So now you might see what i mean by evolving backwards: Happiny and Blissey swapped Generations, if you look at it with this logic
Just thought it was something to tell you.
First, i reccomend being anywhere in route 23 where pokemon can spawn (but not on the water) the victory road, the power plant (that place where zapdos is)
And the seafoam islands, where pokemon of level 40-50 can spawn, the highest wild level possible besides cerulean cave
Second, start a catch combo of any pokemon you'd like, i reccomend of a pokemon you have in your party, for example, if you have a nidoking in your party, you should catch combo nidoran male or nidorino
Finally, this step is optional but if you want to, catch a chansey, they appear anywhere as long as you have a combo and they give enough XP to level up most pokemon
Hope this helps the 7 people that still play pokemon let's go

A brilliant day it was, the morning light hitting the Eevee’s face, a Leafeon tongue licking the top of her head again as she stirred. “Good morning,” said Petal. “Eevee…” Lily groaned, getting out of her nest in annoyance. She could see the forced smile on the grass-type. “Mama’s very sorry she can’t bring you to work today,” the Leafeon sadly announced. Lily had her head hung low from the news she saw coming. Looks like today she will have to spend the day with the other kids.
“I know you don’t want to,” Petal began. “But the next time Soothing Scents is closed, we can play all you want.” She licked Lily’s head again as the two left home.

The Eevee sat from afar, watching the other kids play as usual. Midnight was around mainly to babysit, the Purrloin making sure no one got hurt or prevent a fight. Today, the game they decided to play was tag, Pokemon zooming around. Pitch was the chaser right now, tailing a Magby. “Tag!” Then the Pichu went running in the opposite direction, while the Magby looked for a different Pokemon to tag.
All the while as she watched, a shout from behind surprised the bored Eevee. “Hi, everyone!” A familiar penguin ran up to the group. It was the same Piplup that came to Soothing Scents. “Palo!” shouted Pitch. All the other Pokemon immediately surrounding the Piplup. “Long time no see, Palo!” said Midnight. “Uh-huh, hi again!” the Piplup replied, trying to talk to the multiple Pokemon that clamored him as the Purrloin dragged some away.
“How’s the guild been?” asked Midnight. The other Pokemon looked at Palo like it was storytime. “Yeah! Yeah! Tell us!”
“Alright, alright, but it’s not much,” said the Piplup. It was in the same manner to when he was complimented in Soothing Scents. And what was this guild they’re talking about? Cotton also mentioned that word. Lily stared at the penguin the same way the other kids were. “Even Lily is interested!” a Scatterbug said. “Lily?” asked Palo. “Who’s that?”
“She’s new here,” answered Midnight, rotating the Piplup’s head to the Eevee. “Just be kind to her,” he whispered. “She came here the same way you did.”
“Oh,” responded Palo. The pair’s heads kept nodding as they whispered more before Midnight left Palo’s side, letting the penguin tell his story.
He was on a mission to check on an altar in a forest called Willow Woods. The other kids groaned and rolled their eyes from the tale Palo told, some wanting for action. Instead, it was just as simple as the water-type made it out to be, a scan. with no obstacles in the way or any dangers. Only Lily’s attention never wavered as all of the other kids’ parents or older siblings brought them home until it was just her, Palo, and Midnight. It was getting late, the blue sky now rather yellow. The plaza was crowded too for a day in Lylow. Most of the Pokemon filled Swirly Sweets, although a good chunk were at the others. Lily had her head cocked like a clock hand. She had never seen the town this lively. Was something going on?
The Purrloin nudged her to follow him as he walked opposite of the town square, Palo coming along. The older Pokemon talked in the same whisper they did as they made their way to Merry’s place. But why Merry’s? Lily didn’t know, looking back every now and then before eventually deciding. “Eevee.”
Midnight whispered once again to the Piplup as they turned to face her. Palo was a bit tense as Midnight spoke. “Yes?” the Purrloin responded. The Eevee frowned further. “Eevee!” Palo jumped back from the shout as Lily went on ahead to the Chansey’s home. Midnight grabbed his flipper and ran after the normal-type.
“So that’s what you were talking about!” Palo said, trying to keep up with the Purrloin who nodded. “Yeah,” he replied. “She’s not the happiest Pokemon in the world for obvious reasons.” The Eevee was gone from sight, a Chansey at the entry of her home with a worried look on her face. “And when we get to Merry,” Midnight began. “Could you keep an eye on Lily?”
The two stopped. “Sure, but why?” asked Palo. “Because, I need to help my mom out,” the feline answered, leaning forward. “And it’s almost the Winter Festival too.” He left soon after, waving his goodbye to Merry.
“I see you’ve met Lily?” The Piplup nodded, hugging the larger Pokemon tightly. He answered with a “mhm,” sniffling. Palo didn’t know what to do as he spoke, muffled. “I know I said it yesterday since I returned but I missed Lylow, everything about it. Especially you, Merry.”
“We all missed you too.” She patted his head and brought Palo inside. Lily was at a corner, all curled up. “Merry?”
“Yes?” The Chansey set a bowl beside the Eevee as Palo followed.
“Could we talk about this somewhere else?”
“Of course.” She turned to Lily. “We’ll be back.” The fluffy fox quietly nodded, allowing the Pokemon to go back outside. It had become night, the stars out to play. The Piplup took a big breath to compose himself. “Did Lily come here the same way…” he dragged, his voice growing soft. Merry placed her arm-hand nub at the back of his head. “Yes,” she confirmed. “She did.”
“I see…” The Piplup let out a sad exhale. “I need to leave Lylow again tomorrow.” He bent to his right, leaning onto Merry. “I wish I could stay longer,” he muttered, a “mum” escaping almost silently at the end.

“That’ll be $63.48.” From the counter, Pat watched as the customer turned around. “Thank you for shopping at GameStop. Please come again.” They responded with the usual goodbye of “Have a good day.” “You too. Have a great one.” The door opened and as the customer left, Pat let out an exaggerated sigh of relief. “Finally.” He took out a box of cigarettes and a lighter, going back.
As luck would have it, the door swung open. The employee cursed to himself, quickly shoving away the contents back into his pockets. “Hello!” he greeted to a familiar, younger kid with a backpack. Immediately, Pat dropped the act. “Oh, it’s you. What do you want?”
“I need you to come with me,” explained Ben.
“Well, I’m sorry but I’m busy.”
“Busy what?”
The door opened again as more customers entered the store. “Work of course,” Pat lied, pointing at the door. “So I’d really appreciate it if you buy something now.”
“I’m not buying anything,” Ben replied.
“Oh good. Could you tell me if Patricia digs dudes who smoke? I mean, who doesn’t like a dude that-”
The younger boy had already left the store. Well that wasn’t helpful. Ben left the mall as fast as possible, running for the park from yesterday. He needed to find out what this was about. However, once he reached his destination, the park was crowded with kids playing around cluelessly. Ben ran for the playground, to the swings where children swang from. Where was the hole? It was here, by the swings. Ben knew for sure. Neither side had a hole. What was going on? There was no way he imagined that. He remembered it so clearly.
A siren blared, followed up by a car in black and white parking by the curb. The doors opened, gathering the attention of every kid and adult as two adults exited the vehicle. The first was a cop in uniform, short, brown hair tied up to a bun. Ben stared wide eyed at the second person. It was the man he ran into at McDonald’s. He didn’t wear the standard black outfit the first person wore, but instead, he was plain clothed, wearing a white button up and khakis.
As the two herded the people out, Ben quietly snuck off. He hid in a bush, watching as yellow tape circled the park before the authorities walked over to the swings. The police took out a photo, then looked at the area. Then she walked back to the car, bringing back two shovels as they began to dig. It didn’t take long before the both got the hole revealed as there was a piece of circled wood near the top. The cop and detective both made their way carefully down the hole. Making sure they were gone, Ben left the bush, shaking off the leaves and twigs on him.
For the second time, he stared back at the pit. It was just as unnerving as the first. The adults weren’t there as the kid carefully climbed down the hole.
I listened to Game Theory and it just said that Nurse Joy is actually a Chansey is disguise. But the main theory is: I've been looking for the answer this whole time, Nurse Joy is an ACTUAL FULLY CATCHABLE POKEMON! I've seen it all... There are serious variants of Nurse Joys in the Pokémon Franchise. I've looked it all up that she had a lot of stuff inside all of the Poke Centers.
How can she be actually none other than Chansey for all of a sudden?
We've never seen this before in my life.
This franchise creeps me the heck out for all of a sudden that no one seen before?
Author's Note: I am very happy to announce you the first chapter of the fanfic! It has around 1600 words, but I do hope you enjoy!Wake up, drink goop, go to sleep. Rinse and repeat it was the Eevee’s treatment, continuous and boringly long. It was a miracle that she was able to sleep for so long throughout those days. Then again, her entire well-being was miserable at the time. Today however, the Eevee was mildly awful. Still sick but at least she could think and move properly, albeit slowly.
Sitting outside of the place she was hospitalized in, lazily gazing at the town, something felt off about this, but the brown fox couldn’t put a finger- er paw on it. This area had Pokemon, out and about, wandering around like normal human beings. Human. Why did she think of that? What was a human and more importantly, what was she?
The Eevee didn’t know what she was with her brown fur and fluffy cream mane. Gosh, thinking hard on it made the situation worse, the Pokemon getting a horrible headache from it. Once she felt entirely better, maybe she could start thinking about it again. That’s if she remembers it. For now, the Eevee was going to enjoy her surroundings.
It was late morning as the Pokemon inhaled a fresh breath of air, watching from the spot she sat. The town square was quite busy today, with all sorts of Pokemon moseying around; interacting with small talk, having long chats, or buying from the stores there, it was lively.
A blue penguin came running out of the crowded square, rushing towards the Eevee’s direction. The same Piplup from those days before. “Merry!” He excitedly shouted, a small woven pouch in front of him. “I’m back with the berries!”
Nearing the dome home, the Piplup began to slow down. An Eevee sat there patiently, staring at him. A tired form she was in, watching as the Piplup went back inside hurriedly to get the Chansey. That was one of the few things she learned while bedridden.
She soon gave up sitting, lying with her stomach on the ground and curling herself up. Even then, that was a hassle, but it at least made her more comfortable. Dozing off, the brown fox found herself lifted off the ground. “Eevee…” she protested tiredly as the Chansey brought her back into the house, setting her neatly onto the nest once more as she was fed the goop once more. Ick. “Vee…” The Eevee continued to argue that she was fine to no avail. The mixture had her drowsy again like all the other times, the two Pokemon leaving the room for her to rest.
“Merry?” The Piplup spoke. They were in the main room of the dome, sorting out the berries that the Piplup brought back. “Yes?” The Chansey, Merry, replied. A shaky breath came through the small penguin as he talked again. “W-why did that Eevee not speak?” He asked.
“Now I don’t know what you mean,” Merry answered, finishing up as she grabbed the Piplup, bringing him to a different room.
“Merry, I mean…” he said, the Chansey setting him down softly on a nest. “I meant, ‘Why did that Eevee only say her name?’. That’s not normal, is it?”
Merry sighed. “No, it isn’t.”
“Do you know why she’s like that?” The Piplup pushed forward with his questions.
“Maybe, but it’s not certain. Now, let’s get you to bed, Palo.”
“But I’m already in bed.”
A small smile cracked out of the Chansey’s face as she made her way out the room. “Good night, Palo,” she said soothingly before finally exiting the room.
Still, the penguin, Palo, couldn’t get it out of his mind. Just who was this Eevee? Found in a forest by herself out in the open with the rain, insane fever that lasted long and now, the inability to talk right. The Piplup shut his eyes hard, hoping to fall asleep by being tired from these questions.
* * *
“Good morning!” The sentence rang throughout the Eevee’s head, sleepily opening her eyes to see what it was. The penguin was right up at her face, unusually cheerful. “Don’t tell Merry I said this, but I’m giving you a tour of town today!” With this behavior, the water-type would get caught in no time. “Now let’s get you up-”
Pulling the Pokemon out of her nest, the Piplup struggled, not really able to pull the Eevee up. “Vee…” The Eevee watched tiredly, seeing the blue Pokemon try and pull her by the tail. Why was the Piplup all over her today?
“Don’t you wanna see how beautiful Lylow Town is?!” He grunted, gaining little progress in dragging the Eevee out of the dome. At least she was out of her nest now. “Vee,” she reluctantly agreed. Standing up on all fours, the Eevee noticed that she felt better. Sure she felt awkward, but it wasn’t anywhere near as sick as she was, even yesterday. It wouldn’t hurt to try talking aloud now. “Eevee!” The normal-type’s voice echoed throughout the empty room, the Piplup rushing her out, not wanting to get caught in this.
* * *
“So you really can’t talk, huh?” Palo asked. He kept a slow pace for the Eevee to follow. At first, she tilted her, confused by the question. Then, when the Eevee was about to say something, she stopped. She got odd looks from this Piplup whenever she talked. “Vee?”
It came crashing down on her. She couldn’t speak at all but said this babble. “Vee?!” A few residents gave the pair different expressions. Palo took not and covered the Eevee’s mouth, continuing their walk. “I forgot to tell you,” he said. “Don’t talk. Lylow Town isn’t used to this so just let me be your tour guide, got it?” The muted fox nodded, a sigh exasperating from the penguin. “Let’s get started, shall we?”
"And here we are!" Palo announced, restarting his introduction to the patient. Both Pokemon were on a stone circle with a fountain in the middle; shops and homes connected with stone paths towards the fountain as green grass flooded the rest of the area with lots of Pokemon in the town.
"This is Lylow Town," Palo stated, heading towards one of the shops in town. "Come here!" He shouted, waving one of his flippers in the air as the Eevee arrived at the shop he was at. "This is Junker's Junk," the penguin explained. "Junker, the Banette, runs the shop. "He usually sells apples, berries, and scarves. Others see him as a bit odd from what his store offers, but they don't mind. And now for the other store residents find odd, Technical Magnemites."
After finishing that sentence, the two were now at a walking pace, Palo explaining the shops as they walked by, starting off with Technical Magnemites. "Others see the Magnemites as weird because they decided to open up a Technical Machine shop, or TM, without adding their products to Junker's Junk, since he used to sell TM's until they arrived." Palo went further into how the shop worked. "The owners of Technical Magnemites are two Magnemites, named Proton and Electron. They sell TM's, these colored discs that teach you a new move you want to learn. Once you buy a TM, Proton and Electron hand you this weird, black, flat box and tells you that you need it in order to use the TM, by inserting it inside the box and then something shows up on the box called a 'video,' which teaches you the move that TM has."
As the two continued the walk, Palo had introduced the Eevee to the different residents and stores as they went towards the final place in town. There was Raggy's Show, a thing that would happen in the cafe, Swirly Sweets, which a Slurpuff and Swirlix named Latte and Sugar ran. Raggy's Show would happen around the afternoon to cheer up any kids that were upset, by having a stage play in the middle of the cafe from a Mimikyu whose name was Raggy.
At Swirly Sweets, there was also some staff that worked there. Raggy would be in his shift whenever he was not performing for the kids, Maple, a Pikachu mother of one Pichu named Pitch, helped out with orders, and Chi, a Minccino, cleaned up what mess the kitchen or cafe made.
The post office for mail was called Feather Delivers. Only flying type Pokemon were allowed to work there, since they could travel freely however way they want without much to stop them.
The last shop Palo introduced before their way towards the last one was Soothing Scent, a flower shop run by Cotton the Whimsicott, along with the help of a Leafeon named Petal and Roselia that was called Fragrance.
"We're here," said Palo. "We're at Karma's Greed, a bank that is run by Luzure the Liepard and her son Midnight. If you're afraid that you'll lose your money, just go to them and deposit it."
It was late afternoon, the tour now finished as the pair headed back home. "So what do you think of Lylow Town?" Palo asked. "Eevee!” She responded excitedly.
"I know, right?" Palo was excited now too. "Everyone in town was nice and the town itself is pretty! And once I get through my nervousness about it, I'll join an exploration team!" Palo turned around to face the Eevee, eyes sparkling. "We could be in the same team! Do you want to make an exploration team with me?"
The Eevee however, didn't respond, the sudden question surprising her. "Oh." Palo realized that he was too quick with his request. "It's okay, I was a bit hasty with exploration teams, I asked you suddenly without telling you what they are. Besides, there's some special events in town I'd like to show you, so you can wait as long as you need to see if you want to make an exploration team with me. Besides, we gotta find your family. We don’t know about you so you might be lost."
The brown fox only nodded lightly, the pair’s way back to the dome a tad bit awkward.
I caught a chansey because I found an alpha while level grinding, when I go back to jubilife village and try to go back, the next thing I know there's a chansey outbreak. why game freak, why
Author's Note: After a year and 3 months, I decided to finally bring my very first fanfiction here. All rewritten, if you managed to read it in the past before on the site I put it in, congrats! I hope you enjoy this. A warm up for the big eventAwoken by the touch of a tiny droplet, an Eevee lay on her side in a cold, dark forest, her fur soaked as the rain roughly rested on it.
What was she doing here... And why was she unable to move? The Eevee's body wouldn't listen to what she wanted to do. Instead, she only felt herself getting drowsy as she looked wearily.
In her sight, a little blue penguin came running towards her direction immediately. Too tired, the Eevee didn't bother trying to do anything, even if she wanted to. There was someone with her now who could help her... At least she hoped they will.
. . .
Waking up a second time, the brown fox-like Pokemon found herself in a completely new environment. It wasn't like the forest from before in the rain. She was in a building of some sort. Maybe it was someone's home? It was certainly a place someone would be staying in. There was a table, windows, and a couple of seats. All of them wooden, the windows with no glass at all...
But that wasn't important. What was important was what the Eevee was doing here. She felt awful from earlier in exchange for being able to move, somewhat. Why was she so covered in this brown fur and why did her head ache so badly? It didn't help that she felt hot as well. And what was this thing she was lying down on? A big nest? That could be why she was feeling hot.
This fur, along with the nest she was on. There was even a big amount of fluff around her neck as well, though it was cream colored compared to the brown that covered the rest of her.
As the Eevee moved a paw to get out of her nest, someone entered the room.
It was the penguin from yesterday! A Piplup. He looked at the Eevee, surprised before slowly turning around and... BAM! The Piplup was running away from the Eevee. "Merry!" He called.
Did she do something wrong to upset it? And why did it talk? The Eevee couldn't move, fatigued by her health as she sweat more. Hopefully this wasn't bad.
The Pokemon's vision was all a blur, the light-headed feeling unwavering as she lie in bed. After what felt like a torturely long time, the Eevee sensed a presence, albeit shakily, looking ahead at the direction of where it was. The Piplup was back again, but this time he had another Pokemon with him. The Pokemon was big, pink, and round, an egg resting in a pouch right square at the middle of the spherical figure.
This Pokemon was a Chansey as it approached the sick Eevee. The Chansey had a bowl they had the Eevee drink from. It was green and goopy with a disgusting taste but the sick Pokemon bore it. She felt a bit better after that at least, still tired. The egg holding pink ball left the room soon after, the little blue penguin following.
You seemed to like the Dwebble I posted yesterday so here is my version of Chansey. It's a 3D sculpture I made in Zbrush, SubstancePainter and Photoshop. Hope you like it.
Tell me what you think!
What other ways can I max out an Igglybuff's friendship and evolve it besides battling, healing, and using Pokemon Amie/Refresh? If I'd known it needed friendship to evolve, I would've used a Luxury Ball instead of a Quick Ball. Same thing goes with Chansey. Or...should I just keep doing what I was doing until its friendship maxes out?
Sorry i forgot yesterday i was busy with school and tests
