Ash Ketchum

Misty stopped traveling with Ash and Brock in the episode "Gotta Catch Ya Later!" which marked the end of the Johto region and the original trio's adventures. She said goodbye because her sisters called her back to Cerulean City to run the gym while they went on a world cruise.

At the end of the episode, the three stood at a fork in the road, each going in their own direction. Even though it wasn't forever, it was an emotional moment for many fans' considering she was the first human who started traveling with Ash, and Brock soon after all through Kanto, Orange Islands with Tracey Along too, and Johto.

October 5th, 1998, the episode “Bye Bye Butterfree”

As they journey toward Saffron City, our heroes come to a path that continues along the side of a cliff. When the party sees a flock of Butterfree flying above the ocean, Brock explains that it is the Butterfree's egg-laying season. In order to continue their posterity, the Butterfree find mates during this season and cross the sea together with their chosen ones to start families together. Ash releases his Butterfree, sending it off toward the flock. His Butterfree performs a dance to attract a female pink Butterfree, but is brutally rejected. Ash, Misty and Brock try to encourage Butterfree, but Butterfree can't recover from the shock of rejection. Just then Team Rocket arrives to poach the Butterfree. Ash's Butterfree tries to prevent the capture of his fellow Pokémon with very little success. Determined to free them and win the heart of the pink Butterfree, he battles Team Rocket with the strength and courage of a Pokémon in love. As the heroes take care of Team Rocket, Butterfree smashes the net holding the Butterfree. James attempts to stop this, but Butterfree knocks him away, catching the eye of the Pink Butterfree and making her realize that Ash's Butterfree is truly noble and courageous, and realizing that she truly does love him. Team Rocket attempts to use a helicopter to reclaim the Pokémon, but instead they are driven off by a thundershock from Pikachu. Soon Pikachu and Butterfree return to the balloon and the Pink Butterfree blushes at Ash's Butterfree and does the courtship dance. At sunset as the Butterfree begins to set off, Ash realizes that he has to say goodbye to his Butterfree, Brock says they need to cross the ocean together, even Misty admits she'll miss Butterfree. At the edge of the cliff, when Brock tells Ash it's time, he asks the Pink Butterfree to take care of his Butterfree since it means so much to him, she agrees and begins to fly off with him. Butterfree tears up, same for Pikachu & Ash himself' but Ash assures Butterfree they'll meet again someday bidding farewell to each other as Butterfree flies off with its love to start their new family together. As they fly off, Ash remembers all of the fond memories he made with him, from catching it as a Caterpie to evolving it into Metapod, then Butterfree to all the times they had together and he is brought to tears from that moment. Ash's final words to Butterfree: "Goodbye Butterfree" as they fly off into the sunset. Brock assures Ash that he raised Butterfree to be brave and showed how brave he was as well. The friends watch the Butterfree fly off with them wishing them well on their journey.

They hire HowToBasic himself (Yes, that crazy Australian YouTuber known for throwing and smashing eggs) to capture Ash’s Pikachu after many failed attempts to capture it themselves.

HowToBasic is equipped with a pistol, just in case he encounters Ash and his friends.

Like, he encounters Pikachu in a field one day while Ash and his friends are looking for him, and, as a result, aims his pistol at him.

Feeling threatened, Pikachu is about to zap HowToBasic, only to get hit by a Pokeball thrown by HowToBasic, which breaks in half due to it hitting Pikachu so hard.

As an attempt to get Pikachu, Basic continues throwing Pokeballs at Pikachu, only for them to all break in half due to them hitting Pikachu too hard.

Seeing this, Basic himself grabs an egg and throws it at Pikachu, hurting him.

Incapacitated, Basic then grabs a pair of handcuffs and places them on Pikachu’s ears, before placing him in a bird cage.

About to take him to Team Rocket, Pikachu then zaps Basic, angering him.

Instead of transporting him to Team Rocket themselves, Basic grabs an egg and smashes it on Pikachu, who is still stuck in the cage and alive, but in pain.

Basic then grabs the cage Pikachu is still in and transports him somewhere away from the field.

Basic then places the cage down and pours a trail of milk to Pikachu, pouring it on him in the process, and then tries to light the trail on fire using a lighter, but it doesn’t work.

Infuriated, Basic himself grabs the cage Pikachu is in, opens up a nearby garbage bin (A recycling one), and throws the cage in there, before walking away, while Pikachu cries in pain.

Meanwhile, Ash and his friends are still searching for Pikachu.

The "mystery" of the GS Ball was its unfulfilled purpose in the Pokémon anime many years ago now, where it was introduced as a mysterious item Ash had to deliver to a Poké Ball expert, Kurt. It was intended to contain the Mythical Pokémon Celebi, but this plot was scrapped when Celebi was moved to be the star of the fourth movie, leaving the anime's story unresolved. The GS Ball later appeared in Pokémon Crystal, where it was used in an in-game event to trigger an encounter with Celebi, providing a form of resolution that the anime never did.

The mystery's origin and development

Anime plot: The GS Ball was a major plot point for Ash's journey to the Orange Islands, introduced as an item that couldn't be normally transported and had to be delivered to Kurt in Azalea Town.

Unresolved arc: After Ash gave the ball to Kurt, it was never mentioned again in the anime, and the mystery of its contents was never solved.

Scrapped story: The writers had originally planned for the GS Ball to contain Celebi as part of a major story arc in the Johto region. However, this plan was changed so Celebi could be the focus of the fourth movie.

Forgotten plot: The anime staff dropped the storyline, hoping the GS Ball would be forgotten, leaving fans without an official explanation.

The resolution (sort of)

In the games: The GS Ball was later introduced in Pokémon Crystal, where a player could get it from Kurt to trigger an event in Ilex Forest that would lead to a wild Celebi.

Future implications: In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon, an NPC mentions it as the "greatest smith's ball," possibly hinting at a deeper lore that doesn't necessarily center on Celebi.

Fan theories: Some fan theories, including some seen on Reddit, suggest the ball was made from feathers from Ho-oh and Lugia to protect Celebi.

Before Liko's parents were revealed, there were fans out there' including me who thought that she might be the future daughter of Ash & Serena, given that her face was like Serena's with dark hair like Ash. And who else besides me thought that Roy might be the future son of Goh & Iris' because Roy's facial features are like Goh's, while his eyes are like Iris's. Even though they're not their future kids' still it would've been nice to see👍

I very unknown detail that no one knew until now. In the game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, in a toy shop called "Juguetes Regalos", there was Ash Ketchum at the appear on the store's signage. That's just a continuity mistake, because the anime was released in 1997 and the game in 2004, but the events of San Andreas happends in 1992. What was Rockstar thinking when the moderators made the game?

Also, in the Definitive (I got scammed) Edition, the logos was changed with some mascots of some other series, possibly to avoid any lawsuits with Nintendo, even though Nintendo never sued Rockstar Games.
