Hello! I've been on the fandom for over 7 years and spent over 2 years as an administrator on this Wiki, originally served to maintain the discussions. Since gaining those rights I worked significantly in the content area, and collected over 28,000 edits in total.
Sadly, I feel it's the right time for me to consider resigning my post as admin and secretary of this wiki, for a few reasons:
* The new commitments I've been requested to do this year - the deletion and redirection of spoiler content - has taken a toll on my mental health. When I warn somebody I like to educate them, but this requirement does none of that and takes away my enthusiasm of moderating a wiki, because you can't anticipate when it will happen.
* Some of the users I've known for years I had to block under new system rules. Blocking can sink hearts, break friendships and can stop them from committing to areas they love, whether in good-faith or not.
* Next year my Dad is (likely to be) retiring and my Mum is turning 70 in March, which may mean I could be spending more time looking after them.
* One of the most notable features this wiki's discussions been lacking (apart from the awards) is charisma. I feel like I've achieved everything from a defensive point of view (No blocks on established users within the past month or so is something I'm really proud of) but I struggle at times with casual communication.
Taking all this in an IRL concept: Being the only discussions moderator of the wiki in your timezone is like being a solo-singer going on an endless tour.
I don't think I'll be leaving the wiki altogether; who knows, I might become even stronger as a regular editor after I drop down. What I haven't experienced yet is using the Center Post (and other posts) as a regular user, as I only heard about it after I got promoted to thread-mod. I'm proud of what I achieved as admin of the wiki during my time, and made great memories. And regarding the Online Connection Post, whoever else wants to take charge I'll be grateful for.
Lastly, a quick set of thank yous from me:
* @Ellis99 : You've had a much better 2025 than 2024. You've listened and adapted to my concerns since the misuse of Rollback back in January, and I feel that you've improved yourself as a person in general. I'm passing my Secretary privilege to you now, so that you can give it to whoever deserves it best.
* @DogEarOfTheInternet : That successful username report you did to Customer Support earlier this year I never saw coming. Combined with funniest user of the year award I think you'll be a great influence to a new-look disc-mod team if they consider you for promotion. Also shout-out to @Super Sailor Ninja Taurus for consistently reliable reports, and being a solid communicator; she'll be a good mod too.
* All the Roleplayers: Ever since I made the decision last year to up the number of RP slots to 2 I've not only "mixed up dialogues" but I've created established friendships amongst yourselves. You've handled that incident back in March really well, with @SHARKB!TE 's comments on par with a Disc-Mod.
* Everyone else with an account over 6 months old active on discussions: This is a pretty big statement coming from me; the whole established discussions group has been fantastic! The @ShadowKitsune85 disc-admin promotion is pretty much a reward for their dedication. Same can be said for the content side too for their productive contributions and occasional reports to Content Development Council.
To leave a wiki proud of its current status feels special to me. I am full of confidence that without me in my role of staff, the Pokémon Wiki will thrive and take a more confident approach to 2026. Happy New Year!
