On Celeste Bay, an island as of yet untouched by humans, several groups of pokemon have formed. How do they divide themselves, you ask? By types, of course. Why? Well, that’s a whole different story.
Many years ago, a war broke out. A small group of Psychic types believed that they were inherently superior due to their advanced mental capabilities. Soon, this twisted definition of “superior” types expanded to include Fairy, Dragon, and after much deliberation, Ghost and Dark types. This originally small group of protesters eventually made up the majority of their respective types. Not due to their ideas being accepted, but due to how loud they were.
Eventually, the Psychic, Fairy, Dragon, Ghost and Dark types decided to separate from the others once and for all. These pokemon, or the “Arcane” as they now refer to themselves, now remain on the tallest mountain on the island, dubbed Arcane Peak, close to the stars. What they do there is unknown.
---
The other types followed suit, having succumbed to the incessant propaganda that was nearly the only topic discussed.
---
Grass and bug types now live in the Whispering Woods, a peaceful forest with plenty of greenery. Residents of the whispering woods are the least strict about separation of the types, and many don’t believe in it whatsoever.
Water types didn’t only form one group. The more aquatic ones reside in the Lagoon of Solace, while those capable of surviving mainly on land took to a coastal area now known as the Shores of Wonder.
Ice and Rock types dwell in the Creaking Caverns, the area underneath Arcane Peak. The mountain occasionally begins to quake violently, and several pokemon have been killed in these “underground avalanches” as they are now known.
Most Ground types live in burrows deep within the earth, seldom emerging. Those who have interacted with these secluded pokemon claim that they are very peaceful, though unaware of most current goings-on of Celeste.
The Flying types almost never land anymore. They’ve made homes for themselves in the clouds. Well, the ones who didn’t flee when the division began, that is.
Steel types are the only ones who have seen Arcane Peak in its current state, simply because their defenses are far too great for the Arcane to force their retreat. To Steel types, the Peak is known as the Insurmountable Cliff. The Steel types are often cold at first to outsiders, but are willing to hear any point of view that doesn’t blindly subscribe to the beliefs of the arcane.
Fighting and Normal types live in a village hidden between several other settlements. Fighting types protect Normal types from attack, and Normal types create goods like fabric and furniture for others, particularly fighting types, to enjoy. The Null Village is often considered to be the only settlement that outright ignores the division. Normal types are trying to encourage trade and interaction between types, but the outlook is bleak.
During the battles that led to the division of the types, Poison pokemon settled in craters and other areas that have faced destruction. These areas are now almost completely inhabitable, having turned into toxic sinkholes after years of Poison types fortifying it.
Electric types now live on Volt Precipice, a spire of rocks near Arceane Peak. It's far too tall compared to its circumference to be a mountain, but it can be lived on. It is believed that the electric types are gathering power from thunder and lightning, waiting for the moment to strike. in actuality, they're simply existing, although they've had a long time to gather energy. It wouldn't end well to attack this settlement.
Fire types live in no specific area or group. They travel in caravans, providing heat and fire to the other pokemon in exchange for food and shelter. Often, Fire pokemon are considered to be dangerous, and they have been chased out of any area they attempt to inhabit. This is the best option for now…
---
This may all seem hopeless, like all of the pokemon will be separated forever. But there is a possibility, for those who have faith. Those who believe in unity. Those who are willing to listen.
An attack is coming, and all pokemon must band together to fight back. Or else, Celeste Bay may be doomed forever.
Giratina will soon awake. This is known only to the Legendaries and the Mythicals, pokemon often regarded to be even more fantastical than the Arcane try to present themselves as.
One night, pokemon from all different groups had a dream. No. A message. The Legends and Myths of their world had personally shown them the truth of what would soon unfold, and it was their job to unite the types once more. If not… who knows what could happen?

OKAY, so I’m out of character now. GoodBYE narrator Dogear and hello rules and forms and roles and other boring stuff like that.
First of all, there are three main roles, and I’m hoping to get a decent chunk of characters for each. You can have as many characters as you want, though I’m hoping to keep the Chosen to a manageable group, so maybe two of those per person? The other roles don’t appear much after their time in the story, so-
I’m basically just yapping now, you don’t know what the roles even are.

These pokemon have been visited in their dreams by the Legendary/Mythical pokemon, (hencetoforth referred to as the Legends) telling them of Giratina’s return and warning them about the consequences of separation. These pokemon are chosen by their willingness to accept differences, ability to make change, and faith in what is good. You CAN make your chosen OC turn evil in some way, but they must have redeeming qualities. They have been chosen for a reason, after all! These characters will be the main protagonists of this rp, which is why I’d encourage you to keep track of your chosen characters. Each one is important, and will be given their time to shine!

The Legends are basically just the Legendary/Mythical pokemon who are watching over the chosen and kinda guiding them. This can be either spiritually or physically. Some Legends have opted to join the adventurers on Celeste Island, but they can’t actually join the island’s pokemon together on their own. That would *searches for reason* break the plot!! You can have any Legendary or Mythical pokemon you want in THIS role, except for Mewtwo, Arceus, or Giratina. (Darkrai is currently reserved, and I’m being Shaymin, but those things may change).

The Divided is a fancy name for the pokemon currently living in the groups. They won’t be a very big part of the story unless they join the heroes later on, but even then, Divided OCs may take a while to get to, but I’ll let you know when yours will be featured!
The Divided are mostly supportive of the current social system, and convincing individual groups is pretttyyy muuchh the whole point of the rp, although these characters can be aware of their society’s flaws, and their exact attitude depends on what group they’re in. I don’t want everyone’s characters to be exceptions to the rule, or else the rule won’t exist-
It is encouraged to make multiple Divided characters, since they’re mostly in the background and we can’t have a plot about fantasy creatures splitting into groups if half of the groups don’t have anyone in them!!
Rules:
No powerplaying! Powerplaying is when a RP’er attempts to control another’s character. Let others respond to attacks and dialogue, don’t answer for them.
Don’t make your OC incredibly overpowered. I don’t mean that they can’t be unique and special, but I’ll be working hard to make sure that every character gets their time in the limelight, and when one character has no weaknesses, it’s pretty hard to write situations where they’ll thrive.
Hate the character, not the user!
Don’t be a troll. Treat everyone with respect,
Keep OOC chat distinct! Use () // {} [] or other marks to clarify when you’re out of character.
Try to keep your character’s actions within their role. Exceptions CAN be made, dw
Late joining is allowed, as long as you know what’s going on! You can join the adventurers, but you can’t be chosen if you join late. Sorry! I just don’t know how that would work…
When I or a cohost (haven’t decided if I’ll pick a cohost but still) say something about how the rp works, or make a new rule for any reason, please listen. I want this to be fun, and if it devolves into chaos all of this work will be for nothing.
Paradox 'mons and Ultra Beasts aren't really logical for the plot, so unless you have an idea to introduce them without any portals, you're outta luck. this also goes for genetically engineered ones, if you have a good backstory for WHY they're here, I'll consider it.

Other info:
Dual types aren’t really anything special, they can be in the group for either of their types
Feel free to make hybrid characters, but make sure that not all of the characters are, and keep in mind that there may be some prejudice against that sort of thing in this society
If you have any questions, let me know!! Now onto the form!!

Have you used this OC in other rp’s? This isn’t important I’m just curious:

The rp will start when we have enough characters! Keep in mind that my activity will be sparse after around June, but I’ll still monitor the rp if it’s still going on.
Ummmm I guess that’s about it!! Wow, I’m so excited to host this and to see what all characters you’ll make… :3
Very terrified of the rabid rp'ers who haven't had anything to join for a few days /hj there were some conflicts and a lot of people on the list were skipped and then I had to speedrun this post, so that's why there hasn't been a new RP since ACP 2
I did this instead of my important diorama project are ya happy /pos /I didn't wanna do it anyways
