Welcome to the third annual Pokemon Wiki awards, users!
My name is Unbound, and I am your host for this year, filling the shoes of @/Fulminata89B, who, due to reasons will no longer be able to continue this tradition.

This year was very big for the wiki. First, we had the release of the Epilogue to the Hidden Treasures of Area Zero expansion pass to Scarlet and Violet, which brought back activity to the game and the wiki. In February, we had the Pokemon Presents release a bunch of new information, announcing the release of Pokemon TGC Pocket and Sleep, large mobile games that join the leagues of Pokemon Go. The video also announced the development of Pokemon Legends: ZA. In the middle of the year, our latest thread moderator @ShadowKitsune85 was promoted to join the team, adding to a total of 7 thread moderators. We also had the fast promotions of @Gematarix , flying from a regular user to content mod to eventually administrator. There was also the partnership between the Pokemon Wiki and the Otherlands Wiki, the retirement of @/GaryOakk and @/EnergyX, the mass promotions of many new rollbacks and content mods, some crucial rule changes, potential upcoming administration changes and much more!

So what is the Elite Awards? It is a way to recognise the users who have had the largest impact this year! Users will nominate other users to receive awards in a specific category. The categories are currently not finalised but the official nomination thread and categories will be released in early December. Unlike previous years where users wouldn’t get anything, I will be introducing a new page similar to the Hall of Fame page to be added to the wiki’s Category:Project (if it's okay with the admins), and some shiny badges that you can add to your user page. You also get the recognition from fellow users that what you do is good (also bragging rights 👀).

How does it work?
Here, anyone can nominate at most two users for each award. The nomination thread will run for two weeks before being locked. After that, the top six users nominated for each award (defined as the users with the most nominations for that award) will be placed in a poll, which will then run for a week. After that, the polls will be deleted while the mods tally up the winner for each award. The winners will be announced sometime early in January 2024.
To manage the amount of replies to these posts, this will serve as the discussion post for the awards while the nominations post will be for nominations only.

Current categories are:
Most Active - awarded to the person who is most frequently contributing to the discussion board
(Thread) Staff OTY - awarded to a staff member who has had the biggest impact on the d-board this year
Admin OTY - given to the admin who has helped tidy up the wiki the most this year and has had the biggest impact. (This and the staff OTY award include staff who formerly had rights this year)
Most Helpful - given to the user who is considered most helpful and friendly towards all. This can be done by reporting rule-breaking posts to the Centre Post.
Best Contest - given to the user who has hosted the best contest this year
Best Roleplay - given to the user who has hosted the best roleplay this year
Artist OTY - given to the user who has considerably created the best and/or most artwork this year.
Blue Moon - a special award given to a user who isn’t active a lot, but when they are it is worth the wait. What they lack in quantity they make up for in quality.
Funniest User OTY - given to the user who has made you laugh with their humour
New User OTY - awarded to a user who joined the wiki this year and has had a large impact on discussions
Dynamic Duo - given to two users who are friends and are seemingly always active at the same time. They contribute together and are just overall better together.
2024 Pokemon Wiki User OTY - A prestigious award given to the user who had the biggest, best impact on the Wiki in 2024. They are the best, or the coolest, or the loudest, or whatever. Whatever it is, you’re always glad to see this person online.
