Before this I did some off screen restocks in hammerlocke before boarding the train to wyndon
Also I noticed Glalie was fainting a lot, so maybe I need another way to deal with hail besides having pelipper shut it down.
An interesting observation I found is that apparently SWSH allows you to override the weather with stuff like drizzle, but SV I think disabled it. That feels like a downgrade.
That said I honestly think hail->snow is better because I'm forced to use an ice type like Glalie here to maneuver around hails chip damage. Snow is probably more flexible so I don't need to have an ice type forced on my team at all times (which is honestly harder to come by compared to ground, Rock and steel types).
Can we collectively agree to never import tinkaton to galar? Thanks.
Anywho, now for the champions cup.
Hilariously,I swapped grimmsnarl in for this one and it's against Marnie. Didn't plan that at all..
No g max snooze for me.
Grimmsnarl is my lead against liepard.
We both went for fake out but liepard managed to win toe priority war. It then went for nasty plot as I went for revenge...and my sucker punch got countered by a hyper potion.
I then decide to go for dynamax grimmsnarl to prep for the mirror match later, and land a max knuckle to take out liepard.
Toxicroak swaggers me but I get Misty terrain off via max Starfall, taking out the frog in the process.
Unfortunately grimmsnarl hurts himself via swaggers confusion so I only get a +3 as opposed to deleting scrafty as well. Oh well. A full restore should do the trick.
While misty terrain probably is gonna wear off by the time I get to grimmsnarl, it protects me from another swagger confusion and revenge defeats scrafty.
Scrafty did scary face me earlier, and I have revenge, which I attempt to deploy on the g max grimmsnarl.
Grimmsnarl does end up going down here, but the misty terrain is back so I don't have to worry about g max snooze, which Perserker takes 1 relatively well before also falling, though he did get an iron head in before going down.
Weezing is my choice to finish it off, a bulk up fails to stop a sludge bomb from deleting him.
For the hop battle, I swap Perserker for Glalie, and lead with runerigus.
She defeats the poor dubwool with 1 revenge. Snorlax fares slightly better, living on red HP.
Again, a potion thwarts my attempt to beat Snorlax then and there, but revenge does seal the deal at the end thanks to runerigus low speed meaning it's gonna always have x2 multiplier.
Next is corviknight, so I swap to quagsire since runerigus can't hit that thing. Quagsire tanks a drill peck and fires back with a muddy water. Then we both miss swagger and muddy water respectively, though the next turn swagger lands and muddy water doesn't. Eventually, quagsire gets corviknight to low HP but due to confusion misses the ko...
Eventually quag prevails, but it's a bit weakened when pincurchin comes in, so I let rillaboom smash the sea urchin with a wood hammer.
Rillabooms got a few dmax candies, the most of my mons, so I decide to have her dynamax against hops inteleon. Of course, Hop sets up hail with max hailstorm as rillaboom goes for max overgrowth...
Uh...that was anticlimactic. Anywho, moving on...
Unfortunately for me this time, rose may actually be a challenge as l lack fire coverage to defeat him all. I think this is the part where I fight oleana first though. I swap in Perserker for grimmsnarl for this.
I just realized how ugly Oleana looks...with hindsight about g max garbodor it makes sense now. Anywho time to play "catch the league staff".
Battle of the Vikings in galar. (
Meowth lost. And a Marnie boost defeats the ant even though it got a crunch off and needed 2 eqs to take down as opposed to meowths just 1. That has to be embarrassing, losing to a runestone.
Wait no intimidate from mawile? Huh. Runerigus eq for the win again. However, excadrill is next so I swap to quag...and get a defense Marnie cheer.
Rock slide why~?
Anywho I got the rain up with rain dance and excadrill is defeated by 1 muddy water. When do you get quagsire in Johto again, I'm surprised mine is still useful in the endgame basically.
For round 3 I decide to let Perserker reclaim steel types honor. He taunts feroseed before we exchange iron head and pin missile (rolling a 4 without loaded dice too!).
Quag has to fight steelix (becuz it's steelix, I can't mess around), though this time she yawns steelix beforehand then sets up rain as the giant snake goes to sleep , allowing a muddy water ko.
A Piers distraction allows access tyeaho rose tower...and the steel type gauntlet. I swap Glalie for pelipper to reduce my steel vulnerability before heading on in, and have quag as my lead.
I had to use this because cufant went for dig. Sure using it with a levitating target was dumb but I really had to in case cufant would cause a problem.
Seriously? Now you have intimidate? Why? Intimidate I'm pretty sure is one of the best abilities, why wouldn't you want it available in most instances? (Also I feel sorry the employees who are just doing their job)
That said...muddy waters accuracy...it's pulling a focus miss a lot. Especially in the last battle where quag got defeated by steel trap, prompting Perserker to have to finish of the stunfisk galar who set it up.
Intimidate+Scary Face be like.
Anywho for frosslass I had to swap from quag to Perserker, and get punished with a will o wisp, so I swap to weezing becuz if I'm not a physical attacker, burn doesn't matter.
1 double team isn't enough to stop poison types from landing toxic, lass! (A full restore was used to recover off a burn)
Thank Arceus that's gone. Afterwards, rillabooms wood hammer destroys milotic, and quags eq defeats salazzle, and pelipper defeats tsareena with air slash.
Now,it's persekers time to shine against garbodor.
Unfortunately max steelspike with a burn fails to out damage garbodor as it got 2 weak armor boosts, and Perserker is eventually defeated. That being said the dynamax boost is gone, so I send in quag to finish garbodors weakened defenses off with earthquake.
Yeah quagsire did a lot of heavy lifting here. Again, I wonder how soon you get one in gen 2....
Anywho, I think I'm gonna wrap up here, this has gone on for long enough, next time I'll continue the champions cup. Will I get to eternatus I don't know, but I'll try to get there as much as possible.
