I've locked Goh's Pinsir due to persistent editing to insert false information about its gender. In all honesty, I think it should've been done sooner, but I think because there haven't been any recent edits over its gender, none of us have thought to lock it XD

This really, REALLY irritates me. Feels like such small, petty thing that could've easily been resolved by pointing out discrepancies between dubs, gender differences as portrayed in the core games, or whatever the issue is about.

Paradox blaming us for gatekeeping when I've shown appreciation, thanked edits, and didn't revert any of her edits to the Pokemon species articles. And now I'm worried she will blame me for the slightest form of critique just because I feel I am rightfully irritated, especially because I fixed up the Eeveelution article especially for her and N64BOY.

I hoped that the better Eeveelution article would also put a fair compromise in place. Then i'm absent for three hours to play mario party with a friend then I come back online to find another conflict occur.

I'm very annoyed about this. Not at anyone in particular but over the situation over an anime Pokemon's gender. Like c'mon. What's going to happen now, a new account pops up in mid-2026 and similar issues occur?

I don't know how much of a relative example this is. But I know TPG is a lot more focused on the original Japanese source material of anime. Meanwhile, my editorial priority is the anglophone perspective while acknowledging discrepancies between the English and Japanese dubs, if any. That's if I were to try and be involved in that field. It's probably an unpopular take, and TPG has a lot more knowledge on the anime than I do (I'm mostly here for the games). But anyway, that's a large difference in perspective that could affect hundreds of articles.

Meanwhile, this conflict was all over the gender over a Pokemon Horizons protagonist's Pokemon. Only a single page. Absolutely ridiculous.

We can absolutely mention if dubs contain gendered dialogue, which I wholeheartedly support. In fact, that's something I believe we already do on plenty of Pokémon's pages and is something I mentioned as an option.

What I was mentioning was specifically about "crush gags" and shipping hints in the anime; that part lacks objective basis for a "gender" listing in a mainspace, as most such moments and episodes go out of their way not to contain any language that has to do with gender, meaning there is no burden on writers to instantly define them as part of the plot. And this specific episode heavily implied the crush was about what kind of Pokemon Kairos liked, not that it had to be one gender or the other.
