Rules:
- I can catch any Water type Pokemon available to me, but only one per route.
- I can use only Water type Pokemon in battle.
- If a Pokemon faints, it dies, and cannot be used anymore in battle.
- I can only play on Set Mode.
- No over-leveling past the next Gym leader's highest level Pokemon (over-leveling past Pryce is fine because Johto's level curve is trash)

My adventure left off after narrowly escaping death by Scyther. After crushing said Scyther, Monty evolved into Croconaw. With Bugsy behind me I headed toward the gate to Ilex Forest, where my supposed "rival" who I refused to mention in Part 1 shows up to challenge me. Wanting nothing more than to beat his idiotic, moronic, annoying, trash face into submission, I took up the challenge. Monty ate his Gastly before he sent out his Bayleef. As the tankiest member on the team, I chose to keep Monty in against his fellow starter Pokemon. Bite spam was the go-to plan here as Bayleef did nothing besides continuously missing Poison Powders instead of actually attacking with Razor Leaf. Bayleef goes down, as Zubat comes out, who is a complete non-issue to deal with.
We headed through Ilex Forest, employing the help of a Paras to cut down trees for us (Paras won't be used in battle, so this is not against the rules). Finding the Headbutt move tutor, I gave Headbutt to Monty and DRIP.
Arriving in Goldenrod, I would grind up coins at the Game Corner to buy two Ice Beam TMs. I gave one to Slips, while the other one would be saved for later.
The time came to battle Whitney. Slips took down the Clefairy as it did basically nothing. As Miltank was sent out, Slips was hit hard by a Stomp. So I switched to Blorp, who hit Miltank with a double Growl to lower its attack. Monty came out and hit the cow with multiple Leers, then started Headbutting away at it. Though he suffered under the effects of infatuation, he refused to be a simp and won the battle with a bit of potion support. Thus ends Part 3.
