Poppy, one of Paldea’s Elite Four (and youngest in franchise history), is a Steel-type Trainer despite being so small and so young. Sometimes I thought she could’ve been a Fairy-type Elite Four member. What if there’s an explanation for her to specialize in Steel-types?
I would think it was mostly because of the Mythical Steel-type Jirachi. Poppy would become a huge fan of it because of being a Steel/Psychic type and and it resembles a shooting star or comet. To me right now, she loves stars and watches them at night. Would be cool if she was the first trainer to form a bond with like Max did in Jirachi Wish Maker, and maybe become the only time it doesn’t have to hibernate every thousand years. That girl could even have a toy of Jirachi to comfort her at night. Right now since there’s no full story on Poppy, this is my theory on why she specializes in Steel-types other than her partner Tinkaton.
