1. I’d say I’m sorry for your loss but I know from experience that never helps, so I’ll just say I hope your family is doing okay. Losing a sibling is hard.

Thanks for your support, I usually don't share that much (on Gojipedia I haven't), and I'm unfollowing this conversation. If you don't mind, I'd prefer if you don't bring this topic up, because I only intended to use it as a personal example on why you shouldn't make inconsiderate jokes like the "fatherless" one used by the OP.

OP definitely isn’t serious but I’ll also add my two cents on why “fatherless” jokes are pretty rude: they imply that growing up without a father figure makes you misguided and stupid, which is quite a kick to the face of people who had actively bad father figures. it’s like the “you should be grateful to the person who’s been hurting you” trope.
