These days, Crystal was always hiding.
People were after her. For good reasons, too. She had stolen countless lives, left countless forests charred, without Pokemon guardians to protect them.
She sighed, stopping under a tree. Maybe she'd just let herself die and be done with it. Crystal thought about that for a second. Sure as hell would have been nice if she did that before.
She closed her eyes, eased herself into sleep. She had plenty of powerful Pokemon, all perfectly under her control, to protect her. The too-clever fox had survived once - she would survive again.
The past.
A blur, really.
Faint memories. Of a mother. Crystal wanted to say she had been loving, but somehow she doubted that.
A father who was never there.
Siblings. Did she have siblings? Are they still alive?
Does any of that matter?
Arceus. That voice. She'd have to get used to that.
Out of my head, Necrozma.
You are my Prism. My servant.
That wasn't in the contract.
Sometimes sacrifices are made for power. Wake up, Crystal, my cold, iron hearted warrior child. And make them all pay.
Her eyes opened. Darkrai watched over her.
Another day. Another 24 hours.
More time to seek out those who had wronged her.
"Mark my words..." Crystal whispered, continuing to walk, closer to the heart of the woods. "Vengeance will be mine."

Haruka was a prodigy. The perfect child.
Until she got a Fragment and ran off with another Fragmented. Yeah, probably wasn't the best idea.
That didn't hit her until she got a letter from her half-sister.
"Dear Haruka,
Mom is going to slaughter you. This is your warning. Get out of whatever hole you're in right now and run.
Godspeed,
Saki"
Saki didn't joke around, and she certainly didn't write letters. Haruka was, objectively, screwed.
"There are problems with having a Prism for a mom." She muttered to her Craydilly, who really didn't care, as she walked along the familiar path. The water parted beneath her feet, Magikarp flopping everywhere.
Haruka decided to ignore that, and continue walking to Clementine's garden. When your girlfriend is a Fragmented, you learn to never be late. Of course, she was a Fragmented too, but Clementine could easily kill Haruka where she stood.
With that depressing thought, she trudged on.

A Prism's mind is silent.
Devoid of emotion.
Devoid of thought.
Sometimes I lie in wait.
Trapped in my own head.
Watching my movements as if I was watching a movie.
The main character isn't me. It's someone else.
But that someone is still in my body.
They've locked me inside.
And, Arceus, it's terrifying.
I didn't choose Necrozma.
I didn't choose this.
I just want.
To go.
Home.
Where is home?
An orphan has no home.
The only home we have is each other.
And we trust that some day,
We'll come fighting.
Guns blazing, swords singing,
Making our way,
Back to each other.
Back home.
I'm watching memories.
I think they're mine.
The girl sat by the ocean.
The azure waters washed over her feet.
Legends said that Arceus created humans from sea foam.
One day, will we return to the sea we were born from?
"Hey, Nikki! Come on, the battle's starting soon!" A voice called. Nikki turned to face the speaker. Her friend was waving at her. "Ki's gonna crush Skyler!"
"Wilbur Bronte Aldaine, respect your elders." Skyler threw some sand in Wil's hair. "Hey, no fair, you're only 1 year older!" Wil protested, trying to shove the other boy over. "1 year is still a year." Skyler replied.
"I'll be there in a sec, just need to put my sandals back on." Nikki yelled.
Slipping on her shoes and barely securing the straps, Nikki ran towards her friends, towards the rising sun.
"Annnd Bayleaf has fainted! Kizana wins again!" Storm cheered.
"That's my sis! That's, what, the 18th win in a row?" Wil asked, walking alongside his twin. "9th." Kizana muttered, but she was smiling anyways.
The sun had risen by then, illuminating the sky.
Another day of happiness and light.
But their childhood innocence wouldn't last for long.
"Nikki! I got the papers organized at last!" Wil came into the room without knocking, as usual, making her jump.
"God, Wil, don't you know what privacy is?"
"Nope, never met her. Maybe we've seen each other in the cafeteria every now and then." He replied. Nikki responded by shoving him into a table. "Why the hell are you like this?"
"Can't help being a genius, sunshine."
"I regret everything that led to dating you."
"You shouldn't regret your own birth. It's destiny, miss Nikola Beauregard, and you can't stop destiny."
Nikki backed away as much as possible and promptly hit the wall. "Arceus, why is this room so small?" She huffed, plopping down on her bed and shoving her face into a pillow.
"Tight budget. You know how Ki is when it comes to money." Wil replied, polishing the knife on her drawer. "I'm not gonna ask why you have a knife on your drawer. Privacy, or whatever you said."
They both laughed. In moments like this, the war raging outside was easy to forget.
"You really have to stop doing that, Nikki."
Wil had walked in with zero warning and caught her turning the nearby lake to ice. "Serenity had to beg me to let her fish there. You've become a menace to society. Please don't talk to me."
Nikki laughed. "I can't resist it, Wil." Her voice suddenly became serious. "Every time I stay away from the ice for too long, voices in my head scream for blood."
"...Well, that sounds very pleasant."
"I'm serious, Wil."
"I know, Nikki, I know."
They sat there in silence for a moment.
"Why did Necrozma choose me, Wil, what did I do to deserve this? Why me?"
Ice.
White ice. Normal ice.
Blue ice. Why is it blue? Can't remember.
Red ice. Stained with blood. Blood for me. My blood. Or someone else's. No need to know whose.
Ice is everywhere. I am the ice. I am eternity.
I am the moment before a fight. The silence. The long wait
For salvation
I will tear down this world. But before this world can end, it must first freeze.
I want blood. I want carnage.
I want a perfect snowy landscape to show off the blood.
Unless the master says I shouldn't kill.
I live for Necrozma.
Necrozma is all.
All hail.
Necrozma wants ice. Necrozma wants every ocean frozen.
I will obey.
Please...remember...
I...will...always...
love...you..
Goodbye....Wil...
..live...on..
On August 19th, the girl formerly known as Nikola Beauregard was lost to Necrozma's core.
On August 19th, the boy formerly known as Wilbur Aldaine lost a million things. Too many to list.
One of them being something that one should never have to experience the pain of losing.
A soulmate. A best friend. The one who will always be there for you.
Someone who you wish would hold on and never let go.
But eventually? They always do.
