“Uuuuhhhh my head.” I groaned. My head was throbbing and the sound of the waves hitting the sand didn’t help at all. Wait- Sand? Waves? What’s going on? I thought. I forced my eyes open, only to see pretty blue water lapping at peach/tan colored sand. The sound roared in my ears and I dropped my head once again.

“Do it! Come on! Isn’t this what you’ve been waiting for? You’ve been wanting to join the guild for who knows how long.” Blue flippers placed an engraved stone on the ground in front of them. “Oh… Maybe next time.” The creature picked up and put away the stone. “I’ll go for a nice, peaceful walk down to the beach.” They said, turning around.
After walking along for a few minutes, the creature made it down to the beach. “Oh my!” They exclaimed, running down to a lump in the sand. “Hey! Hey! Are you ok!?!?” They nudged the lump until they unwillingly woke up.
“Wha- Uhh.” The lump murmured, sitting up.
“Ok good, you’re away.” Said the blue creature sitting back.
“What’s going on here?” The lump looked down at it’s feathers. “Feathers… FEATHERS!?!?” They jumped up, staring at their wings they were holding up in front of them. “Beak… Feathers… I’m- I’m- A POKEMON!?!?”

My breath was very swift as thoughts raced through my mind. How did I get here? Why am I here? Why am I a Pokemon!? I closed my eyes and slowed down my breathing. Looking up at the Pokemon in front of me, I studied them a bit. They look like a- No, they are- A Piplup.
“Are you ok?” He asked worriedly. “It’s strange to find a Torchic just passed out on Krabby Beach.”
So that’s what I am. A Torchic. “What’s Krabby Beach?” My voice sounded different than usual. I think. I don’t remember anything really.
The Piplup smiled. “Strange you don’t know.” He turned towards the lapping waves. “We’re standing on it. This whole beach. Just in case you were going to ask- It’s because Krabby like to come out on the cliffs and blow bubbles. Look!” He pointed his flipper towards the cliffside on the right side of the beach. At the top of the cliff, there was some rock that jutted out in the shape of a Sharpedo head.
Many, many Krabby came out of small holes in the sides of the steep rock. They started blowing beautiful bubbles, all different shapes and sizes. “Wow-” I said, the beauty almost taking my breath away. The Piplup turned back towards me.
“I can’t believe I never asked! What’s your name? My name is Waterking.”
My name… My name… My name was one of the only things that I can remember. “Firequeen. I remember my name being Firequeen.”
“Cool! So where did you come from?”
“I- I don’t know. But I’m supposed to be human.”
“Human!?” Waterking took a step back in surprise. “No, haha. Good joke.”
“I’m not kidding.” I huffed. “I really am human.”
“You look like a perfectly normal Torchic to me.” He said, walking around me in a circle. “Hey, would you want to join my Rescue Team?”
I raised an eyebrow. “A Rescue Team? What’s that?”
“You know.” Waterking said. “A Rescue Team! We go register at Wigglytuff’s Guild and then we become an official Team. We go into dungeons and complete missions for Pokemon who need help. What do you say?”
“I don’t know…” I said, unsure if I even trusted this guy I just met.
“Pleeeeease?” He pleaded, holding out his flipper.
“Oh… Fine.” I took his flipper in my small yellow wing and shook it. “I guess we’re friends now.”
“Yes!” Waterking exclaimed. “Let’s go register now!

A Koffing and a Zubat came out of a cave on the far end of Krabby Beach. “That kid.” The Zubat said. “He’s got this strange stone. It looks very valuable. We should keep an eye on him, try and find a chance to steal it.”
“Yes.” The Koffing replied. “Let’s follow them, but keep out of eye range.”
