You follow Jackson to the Cavolt Tower to help fix the blackout. When you reach the top after battling some Joltik that were sucking up electricity, you find the Gym Leader, Elsie, hard at work trying to fix the tower with Jackson's help. After they turn around and notice you, Elsie gratefully lets you help. Eventually they have to connect some wires so they can pull a lever to turn the tower back on, and your starter offers to help. You control your starter through a labyrinth of vents, eventually reaching the wires, which it then connects. After that Elsie pulls the lever, and Cavolt Tower is back on, as well as Cavolt City's power. Now that that's all dealt with, Elsie heads back to her Gym, as she looks forward to battling with you. You reach the Gym, and find that the Gym puzzle is a game of keeping track, in which Voltorb are placed in boxes except for one, which are then shuffled around, and you have to keep track of the box which doesn't have a Voltorb inside. The first room has 3 boxes, the second room has 5 boxes, and the third and final room before Elsie's room has 7 boxes. Guess the box without a Voltorb wrong, and the Voltorb will explode in your face, and you'll have to try again. Guess the box without a Voltorb correctly, and you'll have to face a trainer before advancing to the next room. When you reach Elsie's room, she battles you with 2 Pokemon: Voltbit, a pure-Electric type, and the Pikachu Clone of Hania. Her ace is Hanian Luxio, an Electric/Fire type, and the evolved form of Hanian Shinx. After you beat her, she congratulates you, and gives you the Galvanic Badge and the TM for Volt Switch. Your Rotom Pokedex (the Rotom Pokedex is back in Hania, with upgraded features) then notifies you to congratulate you on your first Gym victory, and tells you that your next stop is Crysthaw City, home of the Ice type Gym. You then leave Cavolt City to head to Route 3, on the road to Crysthaw City.
