So, this year we had another Go Fest that was available for the whole world. Personally, I always loved that concept. But anyways here is some big criticism to this Go Fest.
1. The whole point of Pokemon Go Fest being available for everyone and being "online" is of course Covid-19. So by some logic, this Pokemon Go experience should be based on playing at home, right? Because some people are in lockdown. But is it really based on playing at home? No. Players who play irl are in big advantage. So, it's based on playing at home and it's made online just so people from quarantine can play as well, so they can make more profit off it, but you tell me that if I actually go out and play it outside, I'll get 10x more shinies than staying at home. I wasn't able to go out because of the storm. So, I stayed at home and hot 9 shinies for playing 8 hours. I get more on one hour of Community Day.
2. Lagging.
It was honestly shocking how much was game lagging during the whole Go Fest. It lagged the last year as well, but not as much. It was all very slow and laggy both days. Gonna need whole two make-up days instead of one we got last year to make it up for this.
3. The scam.
So, we were supposed to get some crazy big spawns during these habitats. It's kinda funny of how many Pokemon they said will spawn but those were simply nowhere to be seen. I'm talking Tyranitar, Umbreon, Flareon, Gyarados, Leafeon, Gardevoir, Flygon, etc. I saw some people getting some of these, like Tyranitar and Gyarados, but I haven’t seen a single one from these.
4. Shiny Unown and Unown in general.
So, Niantic told us we will get two new Unown letters. First off, that's a lie out there. Unown G was there last year too. Second they said "If you're lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Unown!" I haven’t seen a single person getting Shiny Unown. People doubt it exists, Shiny rates of these two were very very low. I checked so many without any result.
5. The Raid Day.
Won't say much, the amount of passes I lost on game kicking me out during the raid because of how laggy it was is unreal. The amount of legendary Pokemon that ran away from me should be illegal. Also, they gave us 30+ bosses to raid, but 21 passes, so, its means we need to buy more passes to get all the bosses. They just making hidden fees to make off some more money.
6. Habitats
The way habitats were balanced makes me think do people who work in Niantic get drunk every time they work on it. So, you want to tell me that Jungle hour being the worst I've ever seen and Cave being the best ever makes sense? You want to tell me that featured Pokemon in Jungle habitat will be Aipom, Snivy(had community day), Leafeon(didn't even appear), Serperior (had community day+Snivy already appearing), Froakie(no shiny version), but Cave will be Roggenrola(super rare shiny), Deino(rarest shiny in the game), Galvantula and Galarian Stunfisk(great for PVP), Umbreon(didn't appear for me but did for some people). Yeah, it makes absolute sense.
Overall a very bad experience, hopefully they boost shiny rates for Ultra Unlock, this will feature Shiny Dialga and Palkia in first two weeks (that's what those circles in game sky meant), shiny Heracross and Shieldon as well. And third week is unrevealed, but it better be good after this trash they called Pokemon Go Fest.
