First, honorable mention to a shiny Cryogonal that escaped during a raid. Unfortunate, as I like its shiny.
Now, on to the spoils of the hunt!
Neither were conventional to hunt... I had to think a bit outside the box.
A pair I call, the Echo of the Sands.
Noibat's access to Supersonic and Absorb made this a bit difficuot initially. You'd be surprised of the course of a Days long encounter, how a -6 Accuracy foe, frequentoy lands attacks on a +6 Evasion mon. I had to stay in with a Garchomp, specifically made with Sunny Day abd False Swipe to lower the SoS caller's HP. Absorb is rather disruptive! Maje matters worse, confusion is dangerous... and a max ATK EV trained, Adamant Garchomp, takes some extreme confusion damage...
Nevertheless, after 4 days of mindless grind I can add this little gal to my collection.
[Note: I am not evolving her... I adore Noibat's shiny, but despise Noivern's]
Sandygast was obnoxious. Immune to False Swipe and Thunder Wave. Access to Mega Drain, and trapping moves boiled down to, moronic to even consider attempting.
It would be no exaggeration to consider this hunt, borderline impossible.
I disregarded all woes, and attempted to work the problem out. A challenge I attempted to decipher!
My goal was to find a False Swipe mon, who was either Flying or had Levitate, with Sunny Day access.
The stars had to align for this one.
But an old friend from gen 1, would be kickstart a would-be impossible hunt.
Scyther.
This old gen 1 mon had the qualities necessary to get through this. Paired with another unorthodox mon, Pelipper. It would break this problem wide open.
Soak converts the target into a pure Water type, meaning... Sandygast is now exposed to both Thunder Wave abd False Swipe!
After 3 days of mindless hammering away. I could add this excellent shiny to the family!
And, with a bit of transferring theyre now happily in Gen 8 with everyone else!
