It is actually based on a black cat and a moon rabbit as far as appearance-wise!

I personally think of it as a fox. Umbreon is my second favorite Pokémon, second only to lucario, and Indigo is one of my favorite OC’s, even though i didn’t draw him

It is possibly based on the folklore of the tanuki (Nyctereutes procyonoides viverrinus), who is said to be able to transform and is the alternative name for the Japanese raccoon dog."

Tanuki is the Common name for the raccon dog to aviod misideacation
