HGSS will forever be the GOAT. Gamefreak put so much love in it. No Pokemon game can ever beat it's massive amount of content. There is Battle Frontier, Pokeathlon Dome (better than contests imo), Bug Catching Contest, the best Safari Zone, two regions, Voltrob Flip (imo its better than slot machines), Pokewalker, mythological atmosphere, enhanced soundtrack of the originals, ability to listen to the G/S/C soundtracks, a well written rival (you will know his true story in the Celebi event), just the right amount of travelling (imo platinum had too much travelling), Pokemon can follow you in the overworld (they made sprites for 400+ pokemon to follow you in the overworld! Gamefreak used to be hardworking), Dozens of legendary Pokemons to catch (you can get Ho-oh, Lugia, Legendary dogs, Legendary birds, Weather Trio, Arceus, Latias and Latios, Dialga, Palkia, Mewtwo, Celebi), An epic fight with Red, and so much more. The only con I can find is the level curve, which is awful. To fight level 30+ gym Pokemons, you have to train by defeating level 15-17 wild Pokemons.
